All About Fixed Weeks (RIV/CCV/AUL/VGF/POLY/TOWER/VHD/FWC Charts)

Week 39 is the best deal on the current FW charts for both RIV and Poly because the FW charts were developed in 2023 when Week 39 was fully in September but this only happens around every 7 years with the rest at least partial October dates with much higher point costs.

There are some other weeks with some savings some years but nowhere near the max 20 points per week in savings week 39 has for 5 years through the life of the contract.

To spot other options look for weeks fall at the end of a low point period with a higher point transition after then look at the 2023 calendar for when transition weeks mostly fell in the lower point period. These weeks are the end of January, mid February and Mid May. Other possibilities are weeks with potential holidays (Easter and Thanksgiving) but didn't have a holiday in 2023.
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.

The seasons have adjusted over the years, but week 47 in particular was a steal for awhile because the points needed were calculated based on Thanksgiving falling in week 46 which actually happens much less frequently. DVC eventually realized and updated it across the charts.

Time to go back and review charts…to satisfy my curiosity, is all…

ETA:
As @PolyRob noted, Thanksgiving (FW47) has been updated and adjusted across the resorts.

Also, some time in the last couple years I compiled this list based on the info above:

Marathon - FW #1

Princess - FW #7

Star Wars / Easter- FW #15

Memorial Day (4th Monday of May) - FW #21 (28) vs FW #22 (23)

Labor Day - FW #36

End of Sept beginning of Oct - FW #39

Halloween 10/31 - FW#43

Wine & Dine Half- FW #44

I'd be cautious about assuming Easter will be FW 15. It bounces around a lot. Here are the dates for Easter for the next 11 years-
4/20/2025, 4/5/2026, 3/28/2027, 4/16/2028, 4/1/2029, 4/21/2030, 4/13/2031, 3/28/2032, 4/17/2033, 4/9/2034, 3/25/2035

You are correct. It is the worst holiday for FWs (but if u choose week 15. May rhe 4th compensate).

Easter Sunday dates from 2024–2074. The Fixed Weeks starting on Sundays that contain Easter the most frequently are:
  • Week 15: 14 times
  • Week 16: 12 times
  • Week 13: 11 times
  • Week 14: 10 times
  • Week 12: 2 times

Princess moved to week 8 for 2026. TBD if that's a one-off or a new scheduling norm 🤔

Any thoughts on fixed week 5 at Poly? It's my preferred time of the year, and seems to be the better deal than week 3 or 4, which I also like. I am looking at the duo studio.

My only thought is whether or not you’d actually want to stay a full week in a Duo?

But either way even if you just cancel the FW and use the points towards a larger room, you’re not losing any from what you started with.

I've also wondered this, and unfortunately the duo wasn't on my tour, so I don't know the answer. But it sounds ok for one or two people from the reviews I've read. I figure worst case scenario, if I forget to book some year at least I have something booked. lol.

The tour looks nice here: https://dvcrequest.com/information/videos-virtual-tours/32-disneys-polynesian-island-tower

But I don't love the sink outside the bathroom.

I don’t think it is what I want for family travel…but considering standard fixed week 5 because it is my preferred travel time and gets me just over 150 points. Probably would only use the fixed week once my kids are grown or if I travel alone. Is that crazy? Standard view, Polynesian studio. Yeah, the point chart does suck.
Hey look, looks like I considered this week for almost a full year.

Part of why I thought Duo over studio: If I want a 2 bedroom but they are full, I can book a 1 bedroom + my fixed week duo and be within spitting distance of the same number of points. Put my mom in the duo and the rest of the family in the 1 bedroom. Also, smaller contract seems advantageous for someone using the fixed week mostly as a hedge against point inflation during their preferred travel time.
