Can anyone tell me where in the GF Narcoossee's is located, please? Also, any comments regarding the food & atmosphere would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Narcoossee's has a wonderful location right on Seven Seas Lagoon. It is the octagonal building that juts out a bit toward the MK. It is right next to the pier for the boats that make the MK>GF>Polynesian>MK run.

We have not had dinner there for two years now so I'll pass on a recent review but it was a favorite of ours for years. We used to love having lunch there too but alas that has not been served there for several years now.

We had dinner there last December and we are, I think, in the minority, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere relatively serene. We have ADRs there again this year.

I know next to nothing about Narcoossees, other than I read it has a lot of seafood. :) Could someone tell me if this is a restraunt where a tired family can relax after a day in the parks, is it more upbeat and noisy, or is it a place where we should really head back to our resort, shower and change, and then go to dinner there? I really want to go there this time, but DH wouldn't stand for it if it's either loud or collared shirt required (this is his "quiet and I'm not dressing up for anyone!" trip, he says. ;) )

Edit: oops, missed "serene" from the previous poster. sorry about that, ignore the noise-level question!

We loved our meal here, and it's great to watch Wishes from the deck. We "dressed" for dinner here - which for us means that DH and DS wear collared shirts and shorts, and me and DD wear capris and a plain (no Minnie or Pooh) tops.

It is a place to dwell over dinner, then maybe walk around GF when your done, or jump right on the ferry to MK and grab a bus to your resort.

We dined there on our first evening in April. I made our reservation for 8:15 pm. I am so glad we did! The food was good, service as well and the bonus for us was the views! We we wable to view the water show as well as view the frieworks more than hear them! The deck outside is also very enjoyable!

I would have all confidence that your dining experience would be a lovely one! Happy Planning and have a great time!

One suggestion, request a window table for best view!

Narcoossee's is one of the restaurants with a dress code so a collared shirt for men is required. But it doesn't have to be a dress shirt. My guys just wear polo shirts all the time at WDW. That works for the parks as well as the restaurants with dress codes.

Narcoossee's can be serene. It can also be very noisy. It just depends on the crowd that's there. There is lots of exposed wood and so sound is not muffled. We find it to be quieter early in the evening.

Every time we've ever been to Narcoossee's, it's been LOUD. Not because anyone was causing a disturbance, but just b/c it was crowded & the number of people meant a high volume.
And I believe that men have to wear a collared shirt at this restaurant.
Cheers!

We ate there tonite...had 6:20 ADR which we made today around 3:00. The place was pretty empty until about 7...The food was excellent..My DH DS and DD all had the filet with scalloped potatoes. I has grilled scallops with rosotto..all was delicious...saw people who were dressed up and also in shorts and tee-shirts...

I have had dinner at Narcoossee's approximately 5-6 times. The most recent were 2/06 and 10/05. Both times, we had to wait at least 45-60 minutes after our scheduled ADR's for tables (usually an 8pm ADR). The food was very good, but the service was rushed - dinner coming out when we were still eating salad or appetizers. Having to flag down a server for water or drink re-fills. You may be luckier if you go earlier in the evening, but we will wait a few trips before returning.

Thanks for the dress code responses! Looks like it's out for this trip, we'll just save it for the tenth aniversary trip instead when I can legitimately beat him into some decent clothes. :goodvibes
