Narcooses bad???

Yes the whole lobster is on the dining plan. It is a 2 credit restaurant. You are welcome to choose the whole lobster and it is fabulous. It is already split and ready for you to eat. VERY VERY YUMMY. We love Narcoossees. We went a couple of years ago for my birthday and we are booked to go again for DH's birthday in September. We can't wait. The only other 2 credit restaurant we have attended was California Grill and honestly we loved Narcooossee's way more. I think the atmosphere is the best around.

Awesome, thanks! FYI - I like Narcoossees more than California Grill too!

Me too! We've been to just about every signature dining restaurant on property and Narcoossee's is by far our favorite! :lovestruc

It's become our annual "family tradition" restaurant! We've never had a bad meal and the atmosphere is more laid back then some other signature restaurants. It can be a little noisy at times, but we're never bothered by it. We love the view of Wishes (better from the deck than your table:thumbsup2) and if you time it right you can catch the Electrical Water Pagent, too!

So my advice is, don't worry, go and enjoy your meal, I'm sure it will be wonderful! ;)

We're scheduled for 8:35pm and wishes is at 10pm. Do you think we'll be able to catch it?

It shouldn't be too difficult. Dinner can take 1-1/2 hours pretty easily. Just take your time, relax and enjoy. If you finish a bit early go onto the deck. SO ROMANTIC!

We had my daughter's sweet sixteen there on friday night and did not enjoy it. She ordered the filet and asked for medium, it came out dry and overcooked. By the time she told us, she did not want to wait for a redo. I had the scallop dish and while the scallops were tasty, I found the risotto to be heavy. DS had the chicken and found it dry. DH enjoyed his swordfish and other DS had the kid's filet which looked fine. Service was so-so and I did not care for the room. We had an 8:20 ressie and finished up around 10 and watched Wishes from the deck. It is a nice place, we just did not enjoy it. Different strokes... Love the Yachtsman and CaliGrill, like BD and FF, and have not been to the others in a while. Hope you enjoy it if you go.

Um we went about a month ago and I LOVED it! Yes it's a bit pricey, but it's also yummy. I have a review in my TR if you want to check it out.

We just went in May and are returning again in Oct. This is one of my favorite meals and I usually line up the timing with the MK Wishes fireworks since they have a great view of the castle. I figure any restaurant can have a bad night and mistakes will happen.

Overall the food is good and the view with fireworks makes it even better. We try to get there when MNSSHP party fireworks are happening to make it an even more special moment; better yet you can ee them without having to spend the extra money for the party.

This is the best disney restaraunt!!! If you are on the DDP take advantage of the whole lobster. DELISH!!! Also great atmosphere and views!!!!

We ate there in March for the first time and thought the food and service was awesome! (Have to say Citrico's is still our favorite, but Narcooses is next.) We'll be back in Sept!:goodvibes

THANKS all for the reivews, this is the FIRST Restaurant we will eat at in Disney! I planned it on our arrival day, we are all looking forward to it and checking out the flagship resort of WDW, Grand Floridian!!!!

I did have a friend tell me i could get scallops instead of tail though

This is what I did last Sept. The scallops were really good and I was surprised to get the same amount of scallops on the Surf and Turf that you get if you order just the scallops entree. I have a reservation at Narcoosee for my Sept/Oct trip and plan on ordering the same thing. Can't wait to try that almond cheesecake again. I swear it's the best dessert on property.

The steaks are fine. The Maine lobster used to be delicious, but with the advent of the DDP, they seem to be buying a lesser quality. The last few visits, our lobster has been under 2 pounds and tough. I don't know why people rave about the almond cheesecake. It's tasty, but not all that.

The thing that annoys me the most is the $58 price tag on the Maine Lobster. For that, the lobster ought to be outstanding.

Like nearly every place on property now, the quality of the meal is geared to what the restaurant gets from the DDP. If you're on DDP, fine. If you're paying out of pocket, it's just like going to the hospital without medical insurance -- you're going to pay through the nose.

Actually WE did not love it at all.

Last May we had three reservations there but after the second try we just canceled the last.
The food was not that special and the lobster was kind of smelly and had an real strange taste.

Again this is only our opinion.

Narcoossee's Bad ????? Not in my opinion. Narcoossee's is very very good.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to lobster. Is two pounds really that small? :confused3

OK, I really have to interject here.
I live in Maine, and have lived in New England all my life.
The typical lobster we purchase is 1 to 1 1/4 pouds.
The bigger the lobster, the tougher they can be.

I look at the price for Narcoosee's and see
Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - Served with drawn butter, potato gratin, and steamed broccolini. - $59.00
Now I know it is different all over the country because of availabilty, but for $60 we can usually get 10 to 12 pound and a quarter lobster, so the price really isn't right for us.
As far as the comment about Narcoosee's purchasing a lower quality lobster, these are wild caught, fresh, and live when they arrive at the restaurant, and up until they are cooked. You don't see any USDA grading on something like that, and they buy in such bulk that there are shipments coming in everyday.
I don't see how you can get any fresher than that.

Thank you for the info. I thought 2 lbs was kinda big! It'll be more than enough to fill me up! I think it is a high price as well, but on the dining plan it seems like a pretty good deal to me. We're going deluxe, so have plenty of credits to spare!:rotfl:
