FWIW, they are not completely gone. We are currently staying at WL (club level) and we have the Disney napkins up here.

OlliedannieandMe has been spot on with every post.
For all the naysayers dismissing the issue as just a napkin, who notices? It is NOT about the napkins. It's about the costcutting. Like a PP said, you don't notice each little thing mssing until one day you examine the whole picture and say, "Whoa, when did this happen?" All of a sudden you are paying a boatload of money for what?
BTW, a company such as Disney does not change the napkins because of a "green initiative." They change the napkins because it is a costsaver, then they spin it towards green so they a) don't get criticized for cutting and b) so the public is convinced they are an environmentally conscious corporation or whatever they want to present themselves as. It is a win-win for TDC and obviously the marketing works because PP have defended Disney's position with that argument and others have stated that if that is the reason they did it then they will support them. It is rare that you would find TDC or any other global corporation making a change if it would cost them money.

Years ago the resort soap use to come in boxes with Mickey printed on them. His head is on the top, his front is on the side and his back is on the back... If you stack the soap boxes in a certain way you have the whole picture of Mickey. What do you get now a days, soap in a plastic wrapper. Yea that is magical...

For new resorts. For upgraded resorts. For new rides. For updated rides. For expanded parks. For free wi-fi.
I get being disappointed that something small, but neat, is being done away with. I don't get the insistence that all Disney does is cut things, that they never add to the guest experience. That is blatantly false!!!
I said it before in the old napkingate - American Airlines cut one olive from every 1st class meal. They saved 40k per year. Business is business and whether the cuts are required or not, cutting the napkins is a sound financial decision. I can get over the napkins. They are nice, but not essential.
Again, the whole perspective thing comes into play. For some, a napkin is a nice little touch, its that tangible piece of Disney. For others, the vibe and feeling they get inside is their piece of Disney.
LOL at "We liked them so we took a year's supply of them home with us." Put two and two together folks.
I also agree with this. If its a toss up between improved rides, free wifi etc and the stupid napkins, I'm going with the wifi and improved rides. For new resorts. For upgraded resorts. For new rides. For updated rides. For expanded parks. For free wi-fi.

Now, I may have brought ebay up back on page 3, but this isn't me. I swear!I was searching for something Disney related on eBay last night, and I almost choked on my olive.
There before my eyes was an auction for a Walt Disney World paper napkin WITH the logo on it. Starting bid $5.00. Get 'em while they're hot, folks!
I couldn't believe it!![]()
