No one has mentioned Wendy yet. Happens that it's my name and I've never met another Wendy under 45ish.

My daughter had a Wendy on her softball team last year. She was 12.
My son has Hellen in his class-9 years old.

I hated my middle name when I was little(Emma), because I thought it was an old lady name, but by the time I was pregnant with my son, I loved it and was going to name him Emma had he been a girl.

There are some "old lady" names that are pretty names and I can see coming back.
Edna, Gladys,Edith, Gertrude, and Bertha top my list of ones that I think should stay firmly in the past though.

My grandparent's names are Rose,Jeanette,Peter and Luis but I don't consider them to be old fashion. To tell you the truth, neither do my great granparent's names - Anne, Mary Ellen, Alexander, Charles, Sebastiano (Sebastian). (my one ggrandmother's name has completely slipped my mind right now)

When I think old, I think

Ida
Sally
Gertrude
Edith

etc.

Harold
Gerald
Eugene
Theodore

etc.

My dog is Mildred. My 11 year old has a Sylvia, Henry, Arthur, Pearl, Prudence, quite a few Margaret's and a couple other old names in her class. My grandma and her sister had/have names that I've never heard before.

Arvilla Lenore (LOOOOOVE Lenore)
Arbutus Lucille (She goes by Looby)
Olive

My DD 17 has a friend in her class named Florence and my cousin is named Stanley but he has to be in his 50 's

The only Stanley and Florence I know are my uncle and his wife. Both are approching 90. Stanley is also my middle name. The story goes that my father wanted my first name as Stanley after his brother, but my mother objected, because even in the late 1950s, Stanley was considered an "old" name.

Was surprised when I first heard of Florence Griffith-Joyner (Olympic gold medalist). I thought the name was too old for her even 25 years ago. Same goes today for Florence and the Machine.

My friend's wife is named Helen. She has two sisters: Rita and Lillian. All in their late 40s/early 50s. I always associated those name with much older women.

Jim

My name - Barbara - went out of style years ago.

I know a 10 year old named Barbara.

And isn't Olive the name of the first daughter of Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen?

I wonder if The Hunger Games is going to bring Effie back...

No one has mentioned Wendy yet. Happens that it's my name and I've never met another Wendy under 45ish.

The mother of the young Barbara I know is named Wendy, and she's not 45 yet. :)

My grandmother's names Shirley and Ruth. .

My best friend is both Shirley AND Ruth. Unless she dropped Ruth with her recent marriage, as she was considering.

I'm a Molly, and until my name started cropping up in little kids recently, she and I were the old-fashioned name buddies. :)

Actor who portrays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies is Rupert...

I saw Carl, Paul, Charles listed? Classic names that I see often. And they don't sound old to me at all!

My dogs name is Charles.. it was also my dad's name (the dog came with the name I did NOT pick it out for him!)

Hilda
Marguerite
Hazel
Ethel
Mildred
Edith
Adelheide
Jeanette
Doris
I think my name (Susan) will be considered an old woman's name in another 20years. I don't know anyone younger than me (38) with that name.

Louis
Frederick
Vernon
Dale
Earl
Bud

Someone mentioned Henry and Charles. I know a lot of young Henry's and Charles' suddenly, so I think those two are coming back...
