We will be staying at BWV June 1-8. We have rented points and so far everything has gone fine. Every time I e-mailed the person I rented from I got a responce back within a couple of days.
Last July when the reservation was made, I noticed my mom's first name was spelled wrong. I told the member this and he said he would have to call to change it and would call once the trip got closer in case I needed to at the DDP or ME.
I e-mailed him last Thursday asking if he had a chance to call and correct it yet. I also asked about my mom's address, it is listed the same as mine, but she doesn't live with me. I have not heard back and I'm a little worried.
What will happen if we show up and the name hasn't been corrected? Will they print my mom another key? It's not a big deal, but I'm sure my mom would like her name spelled correctly. Also will the wrong address matter? I'm the one who made the reservation and all my info is correct.

Hello!I am not 100% sure on this but as far as my experiences have been with this kinda situation it has not mattered. When checking in it has only been me that has talked to the CM and checked my details and not the details of my partner who she just gives a room key for without any question. One year I put on my booking that my partner was Mr rather than Miss and was worried it might cause a problem but nobody said anything! Hopefully you will be fine.

Won't be a problem, when we visited OKW in October , my wife's first name was spelled incorrectly. The CM fixed as we were checking in. :thumbsup2

The address issue shouldn't be an problem either. You may just get mail from Disney addressed to your at your home address.

Thanks for the replies. I will wait till we get there to check in so that maybe they can change her name before giving us our keys.

They'll fix the name. Don't worry about having them print another key; if you want to do online checkin, do it (if you can). Gosh, we went through 32 keycards in two days at SSR, because of their errors, and they never charged me for the extra plastic, LOL. They told me it gets recycled, by the way.

[for the curious, there were 8 of us on the reservation, and they ended up doing 4 full sets of them over the two days because they couldn't get the first set to work properly, then after the second set we needed to move due to a horrid mold/mildew problem, then they couldn't get the third set to work properly]

Before DVC reservations could be made online, they constantly spelled my son's name wrong (even though I don't even SAY the name, I just go straight to spelling it). Trying to get them to correct it caused my son to be listed three separate times on a reservation. After the third attempt at fixing it (which caused the third different listing of him) I gave up and waited until we were actually at the resort.

Name misspellings on hotel reservations have no effect. Its the airlines that can turn you away if your name is spelled wrong :thumbsup2

DVC member services is good at misspelling names. I booked 4 trips and the misspelled at least one name on 3 of the trips I booked and had the wrong address on the other and I spelled every name for them.:confused3 Its not a big deal they can change it when you check in and I would still do online check in if you planned on using it. Its faster to replace one card when you get there then to do a complete check in.:thumbsup2
