I was thinking today about when I go to WDW how much I want to get my picture taken with Alice and the white rabbit, because my name is Alice. I have pictures of me from when I was younger with the white rabbit and they are my favorites. Is there anyone else out there named after a character who gets especially excited and butterfly-stomachy about meeting their twin.

Thanks.

PS. I was really truly named after Alice in Wonderland, but the book not the movie. I think my father liked how abstract and strange it was, funny enough I have grown up to be exactly the same way.

im not.. but there is a girl at my sons school called Tinkerbell...

Its a sweet name but ive never heard of another child in the UK called Tinkerbell and its kind of an iconic name... i think she has a lot to live up to! :)

I'm not named after a character, per se. But Remember Bacchus from Fantasia? Well he is Bacchus to the Greeks and to the Romans he was Dionysisus, which is where Dennis comes from.

Yeah, I know. It's a stretch.

My daughter's name is Kiara after the cub in Lion King 2 :goodvibes

I wasn't named after Wendy from Peter Pan, but I have never had my picture taken with her and would like to someday.

I named all four of my children after Disney characters. Of course, they are all cats but they are children to me.

Gus - after the mouse in Cinderella
Belle - well, you know
Meeko - after the raccoon in Pochontas
Nemo - yes, we did find him

So the four cats are named after a mouse, a person, a raccoon, and a fish.

My daughter is six and her name is Anastasia. She is named after my husband's grandmother. It was only when she watched Cinderella (probably around age 3) that I realized one of the stepsisters was named that. We went to WDW for the first time last September and I wanted her to meet "Anastasia" in the worst way, but we didn't. Oh well.

we've had:

a dog named disney
cats named cleo, figaro, lilo, o'malley, and tigger

My eldest son is Sebastian but we didn't make the connection until his cousin was told of his birth and declared gleefully "I have a crab for a cousin!" LOL!

My Mom named us - (she claims it was not due to disney)

Me : Wendy
DSis: Bambi
DBro: Jimmy (Jiminy??) LOL

You decide.............!!!! ;)

Actually I believe anyone named Wendy is in fact named after THAT Wendy. Although its unclear if J.M. Barrie actually made up the name, it certainly wasn't commonly heard until he penned Peter Pan

Origin of Wendy

I'm Wendy! And, in May 2005, I got my pic taken w/ Wendy! :cool1:

I had read that earlier as well, and I was so excited. I'd always wanted a "literary" name. After I read about the origin of Wendy, I really started liking my name better... prior to that, I wanted to be Elizabeth. :upsidedow And now I adore "Peter Pan"!

My dh was truly named after a Disney character - or at least he was named after the actor who played the Disney character. It's not a character that's ever been in the parks, though.

My dh was born in 1960. At the time, he had brothers that were ages 9, 10, and 12. No, dh wasn't an "accident," he was just supposed to be a girl! Nope, he was a fourth boy. His parents had only picked out girl's names (what were they thinking?), so when they called home to tell the three older boys that they had a brother, they said they had no name picked out, and asked the kids for suggestions (again - what were they thinking?!). Dh's nine-year-old brother originally wanted to name him Gus, but that was vetoed. They finally settled on their favorite Disney superhero at the time - Zorro. No, dh's name is not Zorro! They named him after the actor playing Zorro, who was Guy Williams (Guy Williams was also the father in the old Lost in Space tv show.) So dh's name is Guy William Dragon.

I'm a Wendy too!! I always loved the story when I was a child - of course, I thought I WAS Wendy Darling!!!!

Wasn't Wendy derived from 'Fwendy', because some little one Barrie knew pronounced friend - fwend?

Someone named her kid Tinkerbell? I feel sorry for that kid. We named our cat Tinkerbell...

We have three Disney "babies"...

Daisy (self explanitory)
Boo (named for Boo on Monster's Inc. but she was born on Halloween)
Stitch (although he has the personality of Eeyore and the appetite of Roly)

They are all Maltese doggies.

This is not a Disney name but we named our daughter Veonica after the character in the Archie comic book series....

.... If we should 1 day have another daughter we will name her Alexandra (after another character in the series, one of the Cabot twins)

I have a "sissy" name and I wanted my children to have STRONG names...

Well MY DD9 is Aurora. She is named after the Northern Lights, The Aurora Borealis BUT when when she was 5 it was the most wonderful and magical experience of MY life when she met her moniker Sleeping Beauty/Princess Aurora.
We just arrived for the day and there she was right outside the Town Square Exposition Hall. As we approach the line to greet her a cast member informed us that Aurora had to go and was meeting no more visitors. Usually I would not be so bold as to question anyone but for my DD sakes I mustered up the courage to ask if my daughter could please meet the princess. "You see", I said. "Her name is Aurora also". Well the cast member made a grand announcement that our family was the last in line for greetings. When my DD's turn came up the cast member formally introduced my Aurora to Aurora. Well, when Sleeping Beauty found out there was another Aurora I thought I would just melt. She knelt down and shook my DD's hand and spoke so sweetly to her. I teared up. She posed for pictures and truly took the extra time to shower us with pixie dust. I am forever grateful to both Aurora and that cast member that made a daughter and her mother a moment they will never forget. Now THAT was Disney magic at it's best.
