Named After A Character

We now have a beautiful baby girl. She is 6 months old and her name is Ariel. Her mom had a really good Mermaid costume for Halloween 2006, so we thought the name was appropriate.

Ain't she a cutie. We also learned we were pregnant the day we returned from WDW. We almost left during the trip to get a test so we would find out at Disney but we were too afraid; too bad now we wish we had gone to the drug store one day sooner.

I tell this story often, but no one really believes me. I swear it is true. I had a college professor named Dr. Duck and she named her children Daisy and Donald. Can you imagine those poor kids signing checks and filling out voter registration forms?

I know a man who changed his last name to his wife's when he got married. I didn't know him before they got married, and just never had the nerve to ask, but I always wondered "What could be so bad that it would would compel a man to do that?'

In the case of poor Donald Duck, I can totally see it happening.

My DD16 is Jasmine. She wasn't named after the character, but she would love to get her picture taken with her. She collects Princess Jasmine pins in honor of the name!
