Name one change you'd like to see DVC make in 2014

I agree, more than one coffee packet. Sometimes I like a nice cup of coffee in the afternoon while enjoying one of my sweet snack treats out on the balcony.

A stacked washer/dryer in the studios. :thumbsup2

Real silverware in the studios. I don't mind washing them myself every day, but would love to not have to bring my own spoon from home for cereal. Simple I know, but would love that addition.

The washer and dryer are the main reason why I book 1BR for longer than 3-4 day stays. I hate spending an entire evening or morning on vacation doing laundry, even if it is free for all DVC guests. This last trip I almost had a breakdown because our dryer failed in our room. I was about ready to take the clothes to the guest laundry. If I had done that, I would have written to complain. But, Disney came through--we got a new washer/dryer on Christmas eve!

I like the idea of a washer/drier in the studios a lot, but how much I agree really depends on the resort (I'd rather not give up all closet space for it in some of the rooms.) Kidani's laundry room is clean, fully functional and flat out amazing as far as laundry rooms go. I don't mind taking 2 hours out of a day to do laundry there.

However, I have had nothing but bad experiences with the driers at both VWL and BWV and those laundry rooms make me feel like I'm in a jail cell. As such, I'll add onto my wish list for 2014 DVC improvements:

Clean, fully functional laundry rooms.

I'd like to see the member website fixed, by someone who really knows what they're doing with IT.

Make a search feature that allows you to search for, say, 1 bedrooms at all resorts in an area at once. Be able to do a "magic kingdom area" or an "All Orlando regional" area search.

Make a room switch feature that allows you to switch at seven months, automatically cancel your home resort when you're switching and apply the points to your new room. Taking away the risk of canceling, returning to book the resort you're wanting to switching to, and being out of luck with both this and the reservation you previously had.

Make the system remember my entire family's information so I don't have to re-key it for everyone on each leg of a split stay.

Making a wait list that actually works in real time and thus eliminates the need to check online often for folks waiting on a coveted room that they don't have secured.

All of the above could be done in less than a month by a competent programming team- perhaps less than a week. Heck, one of our fellow disboards members did a good chunk of this already, I think by himself, on a third party site. And yet the largest entertainment company in the world can't seem to find a way to do any of this.

Some of those features are available on the ******.com created by a board member. He's constantly improving his app and adding features as users request them. It's a pretty neat tool.

Umm yeah, re-read my last original paragraph. The fact that a single motivated member can do this, and DVC doesn't bother, is particularly painful.

As one who stays most often in studios, I'd settle for getting the single box of detergent in the studio! :laundy:

I'd like some sort of park tickets plus dining plan package that is discounted...might go to WDW every year then. If not, I am happy to continue with using TIW and discounted APs every other year.

More than ONE pack of coffee in our rooms:coffee:

Boy, do I agree with that! And on T&T day, they didn't even replenish our coffee (nor give us more TP, even though we only had a small amount left). When I called mousekeeping I was told "Trash and Towel" means just that-we do trash and towel. If you want anything more, we'll bring it, but then we'll charge you. In addition, this afternoon tea drinker would love to see a few tea bags. And I'd like to see the continuation of some not so small discounts on park passes, like the good discount on the PAP last year.

Without hesitation, at least 20% merchandise discount and better food discounts resort wide, including a discount on the Dining Plan.

Here are a few related to reservations that I don't think I saw above:

I would like our DVC reservations to integrate seemlessly into all the other Disney websites, the same way the CRO reservations work. It's so disappointing that we constantly have to find work-arounds because our reservations are "different."

I'd love to be able to see and edit special requests on the web site, and I'm not talking about the laughable options that are available during online check-in.

And please, please, please, let them fix the bug in the DVC reservation system that changes the name of the lead guest on reservations at random.

Finally, I really miss the old waitlist policy. I can live without the all-or-nothing/book-dates-as-they-become-available and the book-immediately/call-before-booking options that we used to have. But I'd really like to have the ability to waitlist less-specific options, again. Please, give us back the "any two bedroom" or "any theme park view room 1BR or larger" type of waitlists we used to be able to make.

How about courtesy transportation between DVC resorts? We don't rent a car and I hate having to take and extra 60-90 minutes to navigate the bus system or fork over $20 for a taxi to get to a meal at another resort. Those spiffy red vans would be perfect for the job:thumbsup2.

I would really like to use any extra left over pts that may expire. To use toward the purchase of park passes or merchandise. We paid for those points, why do we have to lose any value on them.

But my Great-Grandma use to say if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. "sigh"

I'd like to see the kind of service and responsible cast members Disney USED to be known for. Very disappointed the last couple of trips in how that has fallen off. Walt must be spinning in his grave.

I vote for a more user friendly website for DVC members...show me what is availability and at what sites...more like RCI, dare I say...I can easily see many options for a month-at-a-glance...

:thumbsup2I think this is a real good idea.

If I had to pick just one thing I would like Disney to realize how very terrible their IT systems are and to actually fix them. For this sized company there really is no excuse for buggy/slow websites and the inability to do very basic things without having to call MS. Obviously the "realize" part has to come first because any company with IT as bad as Disney's has no business rolling out an IT-heavy promotion like the Magic Bands...

I would like to see DVC enforce the 11A.M. Checkout time and then devote more cleaning staff so that you are guaranteed a room by 4 Late checkins are becoming the norm.

lol... I love it when quotes get combined. Never have heard "spinning in his grave"!!:rotfl:

I think they have a method in mind. During my last trip, I was in the shower at 10 o'clock, all bags packed, kids on the beds watching tv, and a staff member just WALKED IN! She's lucky I didn't get out of the shower just a minute earlier!
