Name one change you'd like to see DVC make in 2014

What one change, if any, would you like to see Disney make for DVC improvement in 2014?

I'll start with one that bugs me, albeit a little one: the common areas are starting to look worn in Kidani. I'd like to see some polish on the floor by the elevators, it used to shine like glass. (Laughable, I know )

I'd like to see a change in the policy of not telling us the points cost (both to buy and for the rooms) for the Poly earlier than later... But that's unreasonable.

Better perks is what I'd like. We'll see what the forthcoming ones are going to be

Have the booking site work similarly to the DVC app that's been mentioned here. Obviously it can be done (well, maybe harder with booking, but looking is nice).

Once you said this I started to realize why I like Fastpass.

I have a really difficult time standing in line and then someone comes along and cuts. Line cutters bring out the worst in me!

With fastpass, I get to ride fairly quickly. And, for me, three are enough. I understand that doesn't work for all, but it does for me. I usually go to a park for a couple of hours. So, I've booked all my fast pass days in small windows, say 5:15 to 6:15, 6 - 7, 6:45 to 7:45. (Except for shows, of course. If one overlaps too much and I can't make it, I use the App to reschedule.

I've made 3 ADR's for my upcoming two week trip. Disney dining or dining at Disney doesn't much matter to me any more. I can always find somewhere to eat well, even if it means leaving the property.

I'd like to see the member website fixed, by someone who really knows what they're doing with IT.

Make a search feature that allows you to search for, say, 1 bedrooms at all resorts in an area at once. Be able to do a "magic kingdom area" or an "All Orlando regional" area search.

Make a room switch feature that allows you to switch at seven months, automatically cancel your home resort when you're switching and apply the points to your new room. Taking away the risk of canceling, returning to book the resort you're wanting to switching to, and being out of luck with both this and the reservation you previously had.

Make the system remember my entire family's information so I don't have to re-key it for everyone on each leg of a split stay.

Making a wait list that actually works in real time and thus eliminates the need to check online often for folks waiting on a coveted room that they don't have secured.

All of the above could be done in less than a month by a competent programming team- perhaps less than a week. Heck, one of our fellow disboards members did a good chunk of this already, I think by himself, on a third party site. And yet the largest entertainment company in the world can't seem to find a way to do any of this.

And if that's not possible, removing the Epcot Character Spot and Beauty and the Beast from tiered FP+ Yes, there are times when I'm sure both of these are crowded, but there are plenty of times when both have no wait at all. Even during F&W, by early evening there was no line at the Epcot Character Spot.

It's frustrating when you're booking FP+ for someone under 40 inches at the Studios and to have one of the few things they can do taken from you. If they're going to keep B&B FP+ at least have a reserved special seating area like the reserved areas for Illuminations, the parades, and fireworks!

Also create a FP+ or character meal for the Fairies. Waiting 30+ minutes to see Tink is really not terribly magical. I'd happily pay $50 for me and DD to eat with Tink+3 fairy friends.

As mentioned by another DISer on another Tread, allow DVCers to purchase refills on our current mugs. Not make us continue to buy mugs over & over again.

I love my old resort specific mugs.

DVC Things:
I totally agree with everything in the post by MSmithmd above. I would add additional IT requests: transferred points should show in the account, and be able to be used by the member on-line; make the 180+10 work right for ADR's; have a room request box at the time of booking;

Oh yeah, and repeat the $399 PAP offer. We really liked that! But bring back the 20% PAP discount. We really liked that, too!

I want the triple sheeting at AKV to be themed to the room. Please don't have just white sheets with some brown/giraffe print scarf. Yuck!

No $10pp ADR deposit for DVC members. We should have the ability to change our mind at less than 24 hours out. We're a small percentage of ADR's -- cut us a break.

Discounted Cabana's at the water parks. We love those!

More FP+ entitlements for DVC members.

WDW things:

Let the magic bands hold all of the info for TIW, DVC discounts, etc. It defeats the purpose of the MB to have to carry all of the card.

I agree with others -- park dismissal for line jumping (OK, nobody said that, but that's what should happen).

Allow FP+ at more than one park per day.

Add an elevator to the back of the Boardwalk (on DHS side, "near" parking lot). And move valet parking somewhere else, so there is more "no added cost" parking for DVC guests closer to DVC units.

The washer and dryer are the main reason why I book 1BR for longer than 3-4 day stays. I hate spending an entire evening or morning on vacation doing laundry, even if it is free for all DVC guests. This last trip I almost had a breakdown because our dryer failed in our room. I was about ready to take the clothes to the guest laundry. If I had done that, I would have written to complain. But, Disney came through--we got a new washer/dryer on Christmas eve!
