Okay... so I have a question for the Swan experts out there... I have booked my trip for Dec 30th through Jan 2 at the Swan I am going Solo ... This is my first time at the Swan.. I followed all the rules and signed up for my Starwood membership.. and got my membership number.... NOW.. here is the question... when I booked my room through Dreams... there were club level rooms available.. so.. I booked one... was that stupid??? should I have just booked a standard room and hoped for an upgrade??? My thinking is that this week is very busy ... and I would not get an upgrade to club level.... so If I wanted Club Level I should just book it... Any input??? Thanks...

I think you did the right thing. If club level is what you want, it is what you should book. I've tried several times for "upgrades" at the Swan and Dolphin and club level never seems available. But I do usually get a very good view and a balcony....

You did well! Club level would be a few upgrades from a standard room. We loved having CL access last summer. You will enjoy having the breakfast/evening offerings and MommaT and Thabo are wonderful! Be sure to bring a few waters (or pop!) back to your room or the parks from the lounge! Going single I think I would much prefer the relaxing club level lounge for breakfast than being alone with the masses!

Have a great trip!

they usually only do a 1 category upgrade, but even then it depends on availability.

I believe you did the right thing. CL upgrades are harder to come by lately. Hope for an upgrade to a room with a view. You will love the convenience of the Club Room. Have a great time.

Wow.. I feel sooooo proud of myself :teeth: Thanks for all of your responses... I feel comfortable now in my choice..... and yes.. having breakfast in the lounge as a solo was one of my major decision makers in this one! So.. thanks again for ALL of your advice all over the boards!! AND Happy Holidays Everyone!! :grouphug:
