MYW package with only a 1 day MYW ticket per person?

I can do this right? Book the room and a 1 day ticket for each person to take advantage of the package deals out there. My friends already have their ticket media, but still want to save some $$$.

I am going to take advantage the other way by getting 10 day park hoppers with no expiration along with my room.

I did this for my trip last March. I already owned two five-day hoppers, but there were four of us on the trip.

I wanted to take advantage of the DDP, so I booked the package with four one-day base tickets and then purchased two five-day hoppers when we arrived, so that we all had the same media.

It ended up adding an extra park day for everyone, which I originally hadn't planned on, but it worked well for us.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. The package deal for the value resorts is really very good so we'll put our 4 base tickets away for a future trip. I wish I hadn't gone and bought our tickets already but oh well!

Some questions about buying 1-day base tickets with the package discount...

Are the base tickets linked to someone in particular (by name) or can I give them to a friend to use?

You can present the 1-day base ticket and upgrade it to whatever, right? As long as you haven't used it yet? They don't expire, right?

Do they ever send you the tickets before you check in (like after you've paid in full for your package)? Could I use them before I actually go with the package that I've paid for?
