Hi! :wave2:

I was wondering if anyone has done a mystic tan before? Normally I am a fake n bake kinda girl, but I am having laser hair removal done from now until the wedding, and I am not allowed to tan, so mystic tan is my only option.

Have you found that the tan is even? How many times do you have to do it before it shows? Is it messy? Would you do it again? Will it rub off onto my white dress? That would be horrific!

Any tips or advice please let me know! Thanks ya'll! :thumbsup2

I have done the mystic before and it is so much easier than regular tanning beds. the day before use a loofa to get all the dead skin off that way the tan sticks better. You select the level of darkness you want 1 being the lightest and 3 being the darkest. You stand in this booth, first it sprays your front side for about 5 seconds, then you turn around and the back is sprayed for another 5 seconds. As long as you dry off really good there will be no stains on your clothes. The results show up in about 2 hours!! :goodvibes

the only bad part about mystic is that it will start to fade away after 5 days, because of your dead skin shedding. I usually put on some lotion that has tint (jergens) in it to keep up the color longer which works pretty well.

I would recommend mystic because it is alot quicker than regular tannning.

Sounds like a plan, and if I like it it may be new way to tan! lol! :thumbsup2

Hi Hun!
I am also a religous fake baker, but I use to do the Mystic tanning a lot. I agree with the last responder- it is quick and easy, but I have had some problems.
It's great in that it gets darker after a few hours and I have never had a problem looking uneven or blotchy! However, in my experience, when you take a shower a lot of the product comes off and you lose the tan. Also, even with exfoliation, I have found that the product gives off an unpleasant odor for me- I was told it had to do with your body chemistry (for example, some perfumes smell good on you and not on others). Also, I have had some of it come off on my clothes when I swet- tacky, but true.
I am not trying to turn you off from it, but I would try it first a few times before your wedding day if you can with the treatments.

I also wanted to do some laser hair removal! Have you had good rresults? Have you had to do repeats?
Congratulations! :yay:

The results from the laser hair removal have been great! I have dark coarse hair so i bought a package that had six treatments included. So far I have gone twice and almost the majority of hair in the area is gone! I would recommend it to anyone, but one tip, listen to the person that performs it! If you do not properly prepare you can burn and get blisters, so if you do it, shave before hand and DO NOT use lotions or anything on the area prior to treatment.

I was told that it works best on dark haired light skinned people. i have an olive colored skin and dark hair, and i have had great results!

Funny, I think my local news channel just did Mystic Tan in their segment yesterday. They do product testing. I'll check and if it was that one, I'll give you the link to check it out. But, they didn't check back after time so I think that's a lot more important!

TinkBride,

You might also want to look into getting an airbrush tan. Although it will probably be $40-50 more, it's carefully applied by a professional and not a machine. I've done the mystic tan before and it worked decently, although I was NOT given a choice of tan color and I came out looking like I changed races...lol. It did lighten up after a few days though. If you are interested in airbrushing, I would recommend the Mandara Spa at the Swan and Dolphin resort. I'm pretty sure they have a package which includes exfoliation and tanning. It's also recommended that you get it done the day before, but I don't think it has to be any earlier. Good luck with whatever you choose and I hope you glow! :sunny:

Be careful with the spray-ons!

I was recently at a wedding where the bride had very large orange armpit stains because she "sweated" off the tan!!

I hope your tan works out for you!! :wizard:

i've gotten the mystic tan a few times. i love it! for some reason i just don't tan(i think the Italian and the Russian/Irish cancel eachother out!) neither do i burn i get a little pink on my shoulders that goes away in a day and i'm pretty pale. i blend in with walls sometimes i'm so pale, i scare people that way!

i love the mystic tan. there's 3 settings you can get. light, medium, and dark. i always get the light because i'm really pale, like i said, so if i went dark it would just look funny. but the light actually works really well on my skin tone.

it's not very messy, just cold and a little annoying because you have to time your breathing right or you get a tan up your nose! when you come out of the booth you are to wipe yourself off. and it doesn't rub off. just make sure to get it done a day or two before your wedding.

and everytime i went it was a nice, even tan.

I just to work in a tanning bed that did mystics. Every person is different. I would definetely try it well before your wedding to see how you do. There are different levels, however some places don't let you choose. Also, there is a bronzer in the intial application that washes off so don't be freaked out when you take your first shower and notice a lot of running. It takes about four hours to fully develop your color. The exfoliation is a huge part, most tanning salons will sell a kit that contains an exfoliater a touch up cream and an extending lotion. It is a great purchase if you are going to use the Mystic more than once.

My cousin is going to do some form of spry before my wedding but she is leaving Tuesday and my wedding is friday - so will it last that long? I do not even know if she should do it at all? I have done the spray stuff and it would build up on my feet - and I would get itchy too - but I am a swimmer so I am not sure if that had to do with the chlorine or what but I felt like my lotion would not work with that stuff on me- I liked not being pasty - I have had some moles removed - but I am also a swim coach so I am in the sun and I wear sunscreen and try to stay out of the sun as much as possible but truthfully it is impossible so I just thought I would try to get small doses of sun and build up - I know it is bad for me but I am tanning for the wedding -
