If I wanted to shop through MyPoints...say, at Overstock.com where I get 10 points per dollar. How do I do it??? Like, how do I get the points when I'm done. I mean, if I'm gonna buy something anyway, how in the heck do I know I'll be getting my points for it?

Thanks so much!

Or what about the "Send a Starbucks eGift Card for 500 points" thing they've got going on...is it risky to put in my credit card info? I mean, I shop online all the time and don't quite get how MyPoints works.

You just shop through the mypoints page and when you are checking out with Overstock use the same email you use for mypoints and your account will be credited after a period of time. You can look at your account on mypoints and see any pending points.

Use the links on MyPoints to go to the websites and shop. (Make sure you see https://.....at the beginning of any webpage that you use for shopping/credit card purchases.) I use the mypoints toolbar, too. You can go to a website (like overstock) and if that website offers a deal with mypoints, there's a button to click to earn points. That's all you need.

When you check your account you'll see the points as 'pending'. I'm not sure how long it takes to get the credit into your account, but it will. I've done Mypoints for years (I usually cash out for a $25 Starbucks card--love those)

Oh fun, Starbucks!...thank you guys so much for your help. I'm hoping I can earn a Rainforest Cafe gift card for our trip in November. We'll be doing the dining plan but my boys really want to eat at T-Rex or Rainforest...a free GC is the only way I think hubby would go along with it. :)

How come only some of my points are redeemable? What the heck am I doing all this for when I've only got 60 redeemable points?

I think some are held for xx amount of days until they get paid from the advertiser. So you might have 250 points, 60 of which you can do now, the rest in (example) 6 weeks.

They do this for fraud prevention. So many people do things w/ bogus names, emails etc, cash out and disappear. If the advertiser revokes its payment then MyPoints would be out the $$ b/c the fraudster is long gone.

If you are looking for cash back shopping only, another good place is Ebates. They have pretty high % back. But, you only get paid once every 3 months. You get a check or it goes directly into your paypal.

Keep in mind that it can take several weeks to get your GC after you cash out, so order it way ahead of time.

It should say on your account page that you have X number of points pending as well as the PP stated. It just takes time to process the points when you buy from someplace, the click through an email points (5 pts each) typically go through in a day or two.

Also when you order your gift card, it will take 4-6 weeks to arrive typically.

Yes. And sometimes, when you have the points, they don't have the gift card available.

OP, make sure you do every survey they send you too. Even if you don't qualify, that's 10 points. And before you buy anything online, check the "all merchants" screen, merchants come & go.

I did this and it was no problem! You're cc info actually goes through SBUX secured site, not mypoints.

(I sent myself the egift card, it was in my inbox very quickly - almost as quickly as the egift card was spent!) :lmao:

That is what I did as well...the eGift card to Sbux I mean. :lmao: I enjoyed much of it this morning for a white mocha and some of those mini chocolate and birthday cake doughnuts. I even pretended like we only had two of them so I wouldn't have to share all 3 with my kids.:rotfl2:

I just joined yesterday...but I haven't gotten any surveys or emails to "click through" in my inbox yet. :confused3

I LOVE mypoints. I only have 1466 more points to go and I'll get a $100 gc to Marriott hotels!

Ditto what others have said. I started about a week or two ago and have 6?? some odd points redeemable...and 9?? something pending...including the 500 point Starbucks one. I'm thinking I'm doing that one again Friday for myself. ;) I did it once for my mom. :)

ALSO be sure you save emails from wherever you shop via Mypoints. If your points aren't credited after 30 days, you have to copy and paste the contents of the email proving you shopped (from where you shopped for points). I didn't save my Starbucks one...however I do have a copy of the email that I can hopefully scan in and copy/paste if I need too.

I think it took me almost a week to start getting the emails.

And, be sure to go therough your profile and edit it completely...you can get 60 points (once only) for updating your profile fully.

Good luck! I'm hoping to get a few gift cards to use for our trip in Dec 2012. :)

love love love MyPoints!
We use our reward points for restaurants, hotels, clothing
This year I will probably do most of my holiday shopping with points:thumbsup2 I love the Marriot cards...we have used a lot of those

I love Mypoints too. Just do like a PP mentioned and SAVE ALL Confirmations from people you've earned points from. MANY times I've had to do this and get points credited later.

Points always pend for 30 days from the date the points originally show up.

They now have Paypal too, that while is kinda expensive on the "points price", I love that it can go into a Disney fund directly.

I have been a member of Mypoints for about 5-6 years now. Earned over 200,000 points. ;) Fortunately, most of that was ordering from Office Depot, which I do for work. They don't need to know I get a "bonus" for doing the ordering. ;)
