so what do you think Disney will do when a whole lot more guests show up for BOG FP than they expected based on the number of invitations that were sent out? Sure will be a lot of unhappy guests if they don't seat those who made a reservation on line.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that link closed down, especially where people have been calling because they can't get in.

They seat them. Those reservations are valid and some show up as anonymous which I believe are the ones that were not actually invited but booked anyway.

It has been like that for nearly 2 months now. It is working just fine.

This has been going on for months and months and lots of DISers have been making these reservations with out problems. I don't think its an issue.

So what about the rumors that not all guests will get the same Fastpass options. For instance, possibly fewer choices, or "filtered" choices based upon what value class, or even specific resort, they are staying at? In other words, it will show some guests that there are no fastpass+ reservations available at x attraction, while it will for other guests.

Anyone think that this is true? I think it certainly could be true. This is similar to how the current booking engine will not show availability at a certain resort but if you call WDTC, there is availability. I have seen that over and over again.

Of course, I suspect that there is also ZERO chance that Disney doesn't have the system designed so that the concierge services at the Deluxe resorts can book things for their guests nearly at will.

I have sort of mixed feelings about different numbers of FP slots based on where you are staying. So I'll leave that out for now.

One nagging concern I have had about this system all along is the potential for filtering as you described. And I'm not exactly sure we would know with any certainty if that's what they decide to do.

As I mentioned earlier, these were early concept versions and don't actually look quite like the real things...notice, no yellow, and no grey trim...

Before I even asked about the colors I was hoping for purple. Naturally, that is the early concept one that was eliminated. I'm trying to decide between the yellow, blue or green. DH wants grey and I'll have to check with DGS. His choice may help narrow down mine since I want us to have 3 different colors. Since we're staying at WL we can't order yet even though we're just 53 days away.

Since all resorts are scheduled to go live before December I am now starting to really think about this. What a nice Christmas gift:thumbsup2

We are traveling in a party of 8. We have our room @ CBR with 4 people and my mom's room with 4 people. I booked both reservations, I paid the deposit, and they do appear to be linked as both reservations are on the MDE site when I log in. I can see all 8 guest are under friends/family, all 8 are assigned tickets, and all dining reservations are there. My mom will in no way be able to do any of this so my question is....

When the time comes will I be able to customize bands and make fast pass selections for all 8 of us or just the 4 on my ressie?

I have the same scenario for an Oct trip. Yes, I was able to pick all the MBs and FP+ for everyone...I am answering this before I continued reading the thread, so I apologize if this was already answered!!:thumbsup2

Can't be a very strong rumor since this is the first I've heard of it. Different numbers I've heard for sure, but reserving slots by class, that's a new one to me.

I'm not sure what you mean by availability at a resort being similar. Not showing on the computer but showing up when calling? I think that's happened all along...but who is served by this "discrepancy"? I think it's just the way they show availability online. Rooms may have been released but not entered into the online booking system yet, but the reservations CMs see them right away. I know the DVC waitlist system had a similar problem - people who called in could snatch up a reservation that someone was waitlisted for, because the waitlists were only processed at night, but released rooms were instant.

I don't know if this has already been covered but I have a question about the fastpass+. Are you only able to use the 3 fastpass+ selections you make for that day, in that park? For example: We have 3 fastpass+ selections for HS in the morning, so we go to HS and use the 3 fastpass+'s and then head to MK and want to go on Space Mountain. The standby line is too long so we notice the Fastpass (old system) return time fits into our schedule, are we able to get those fastpasses? Also will it work in reverse?? Example: If we have 3 Fastpass+ selections for evening at EPCOT and we go to MK in the morning (the same day), can we get the fastpasses (old system) for fastpass attractions at MK?

The legacy FP system and FP+ do not interact with each other at all. You can use both for now.

Generally, the best strategy is to schedule FP+ for the afternoons and evenings, when the parks are busiest.

Apologies in advance as I'm sure this has already been asked, but . . .

I have a November trip with my resort reservations linked in MDE.

We don't have tickets linked because we have AP vouchers that can't be linked because they're an older style AAA voucher.

However, when I log in and go to "MagicBands and Cards", it lists all 4 people in my party, but there is already a number listed under each of our names (different numbers), and when I click on it, it states it's a KTTW card and its status is "active". I do have the option of "deactivating" it, but I'm not going to do that just yet.

What is this? Is this our KTTW cards from our stay at BLT in June? FWIW, we did NOT have our tickets linked to those cards as they were purchased separately. Do I need to do anything or just let it be? TIA!

If I'd have to guess, I'd say it's your cards from June (it still lists our cards from June at the Polynesian as well). It probably won't be much of a problem though.

Also, you may want to call IT and see if they can give you a dummy number for your AAA AP vouchers that way you can link them. Just a suggestion. Hope this helps!

KTTW cards from previous somewhat recent previous trips have been showing up in profiles. No big deal. They will not interfere with anything whether you activate or deactivate.

Your awesome!! Thank you so much, my question had not been answered.

Thanks, gentlemen. :) Andy, as far as the AAA AP vouchers, I'm not too worried about it yet. I really don't care about the MagicBand or FP+ unless I start reading that others going during Thanksgiving week are now able reserve FP+. I think that will put me at a disadvantage by not being able to link those APs ahead of time (until I get there to activate them) if others can, so I will see what IT can do for me if I start reading that November has opened. I'm not holding out much hope, though. On the MDE site, it shows examples of types of tickets and vouchers to link, and when I click on the kind closest to mine, it states that those can't be linked online and I'll have to have it done when I get there. :(

do they have a barcode? if they do then the smartphone app seems to be able to scan things in instantly that the website can't handle.

Okay, I'm just confused! LOL Here's what we have:
1. Booked free dining for later this year including 2 day tickets
2. 10 day park hopper, non-expiry paper tickets from Undercover Tourist, no days used yet.
3. 10 day park hopper, non-expiry paper tickets directly from Disney, 3 days already used.

To date, only the 2 day tickets are linked to our My Disney Experience account. I haven't tried to link any of the other tickets yet. For our upcoming trip, we only plan on spending 3 days in the parks. We'd like to use the 2 days included with our Free dining package and then 1 day of the 10 day park hopper pass that already has 3 days gone from it. Should I go ahead and link all of the tickets to our account? Can you prioritize which tickets we'd want to use first with our magic bands (should they become available in December..)? Someone said you can do it at your resort, but can you do it online in advance? I'm afraid of something going wrong if I link so many different tickets to our account. TIA! :goodvibes

So here is my FP+ issue and I apologize if this was covered somewhere in the 3k+ posts on this thread, or somewhere else on the DIS, but I thought it would be better to tack onto this thread instead of starting yet another FP+/MDE question, especially since I think I already know what the answer to my problem will be.
My daughter lost her AP after taking it with her on a school trip to disney. We are staying at AKL-Kidani next month and are getting MB. Of course without her ticket I can't put it in the system and I can't get her FP+. I know we can get a new ticket when we get down there, but are we out of luck for getting her FP+? Obviously I would like to get her FP for the same time we have ours. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Did you write down the numbers or take a picture of the back of her pass? I am assuming you have already cancelled the pass over the phone with Guest Relations? Why don't you call Disney and find out your options for this? Without some intervention you will be unable to book FP+ reservations yourself. (Unless you know her AP No# and can plug it into MDE.) Good luck to you!::yes::
