I've gotten each attraction I've wanted, but not always at the exact time I want it. I've missed out on shows though, I keep checking back because it seems to be random when they pop up for me. I do have Wishes as a FP+ though, so I'm happy with that! I just really want to try and get Illuminations in.

Thanks for your response, I've been so curious about this!

So you haven't been able to get the shows, or you haven't been able to fit them in with the rides? I guess because they are longer, they are harder to schedule. Were you able to get an Illuminations FP or were those booked up?

Here now and here are some of my initial thoughts:
We like the bands way more than we thought we would like them. Easy to enter park, room, etc. it's nice to not have to take out a card.

We like having the FP+ times and most of the time we can change them easily.

We can get FP- at any time, but we've only used it twice.

I'm looking at my phone WAY more than usual.

We are sleeping in really late because I don't have to rush for a FP.

I haven't gotten on HM or POTC yet because the stand by lines are 35-40 minutes all the time...and we've been here for 6 days and I've been to MK at different times each day. We are used to 10-15 minute waits for these. It's really disappointing. I feel like I'll have to be at rope drop to ride them. I feel like most rides have lines that are way longer than usual, and it's pretty frustrating. At one point the POTC line was out to the wait time sign and winding through the outside area...haven't seen that mind if line since the 1990s.

Overall, we've had a good experience, but I HATE the lines for attractions that we used to walk on to without waiting.

And of course everyone, anyone with a magic band volunteered to be a part of a test. So why would you volunteer for a test, knowing that it may not work perfectly, and then punch people when it doesn't work?

I am in NO WAY defending the ridiculous and pointless violence and I completely agree with you, but I just wanted to play Devil's Advocate real quick. I don't think when they signed up to be part of the test, they realized that they were possibly going to be detained outside of every park and forced to waste hours of their trip at guest services.

I think the way they are handling this test is very unprofessional. Half the CMs are told one thing while the other half, another. They are wasting guests' time after they paid a huge sum of money to visit the parks and have fun.

None of this at all excuses any kind of violent, but I DO understand why people are so angry after they volunteered.

If you can log into the DMX account and have an option to customize MagicBands, then you'll be able to make FP+ suggestions.

It remains to be seen whether anyone who did not receive the official email/letter can actually redeem their FP+...

Being in the UK, there's a glitch (surprise, surprise!) in terms of logging into my reservation on the main website, but I can pull it up okay on the iPhone app. Where abouts on the app should I be looking for the MagicBands info, i.e. what heading is it under?

Thanks again!

Questions for the folks who already scheduled FP+s for the test this month...

Did you get everything you wanted? Were there any attractions you wanted that were "sold out"?

For our trip in a couple of weeks, we were able to get almost all of the attractions we wanted at any times we wanted (almost entirely headliners). The only thing we couldn't get was a FP+ for Illuminations but that wasn't too big of a deal. The only "show" we used FP+ for was MSEP on the day we arrive. We won't be in MK until mid-afternoon so I didn't mind burning one of our four FP+'s for it.

We're all looking forward to trying the new system out.

So how is this an "accurate" test of the system if guests are eligible for both FP+ and can still pull FPs from the old system?

Good question. I hate the not knowing when. It's killing me. But I trust Disney has some sort of idea of what they are doing. I hope.

I'm going to be testing in a couple of weeks and in none of the correspondence I've received does it it say you can't use both FP+ and FP-. Now, when I called to ask about MM+ (to ask why I hadn't received an invitation but received our Magic Bands; we've since received the invitation) I was told that it was one or the other on any particular day. However, others have been told that both will be available for the August test. Seems to be a little inconsistent.

I'm guessing that testers that never call or visit the DIS will try to use both and be successful because they haven't been told otherwise (unless they receive specific instructions at check in).

Good or bad, I think this is intentional. One of the main goals of the MM+ program was to get more people on the "underutilized" rides like Pirates. If Pirates is a five minute wait, then not enough people are on it.

Us experts thrive on the inefficiencies of WDW, MM+ is designed to eliminate them. It is going to take some getting used to.

I dread the day when Disney figures out how to get people to stay in Animal Kingdom after the parade. That is the best time to be in any park, super low crowds even in peak season. But with afternoon scheduled FP, a new evening light show, and Avatar on the way, DAK will fill up at night. Great for Disney, sad for me. Same story with 30 minute waits on POTC.

Just got my email 5 minutes ago, which is a little funny since I already have my customized bands and have scheduled all my FP+s. One would think running a cross-check in a database could easily throw an email with different wording for people who have already done what they are asking for.

Thanks to these boards and your fabulous information, I was able to get everything I wanted for FP+s at the times when I wanted - but wow, what a time sink. It took me about 3 hours to schedule 6 days of FP+s for 3 people, all doing the same thing - I can't even imagine the planning nightmare if I had people who were all doing something different.

Learning how to game the system takes a while - for example, I had picked 3 attractions, one being Beauty and the Beast - then changed my schedule so I'd be at Fantasmic that night, decided to swap out B&tB for Fantasmic - When you try this, it only gives you option of an attraction with the same available time slot, so since my B&tB was at like 11:30am, no dice on Fantasmic. I had to change to another attraction, pick an evening time, then trade that for Fantasmic. This is something they need to fix.

I don't understand why they can't just list all the attractions, and have a little dropdown of available times for each one, and then you just pick the four you want. It is a very convoluted selection system, taking the times they give you and then going in and changing them all to suit your particular plan.

I'm still super excited to try this out - though I admit I'd be more apprehensive if I didn't know that I had standard FPs to fall back on.

Other thoughts:
I want a MB accessory with a watch on it so that I don't have to wear a band and my watch.

I actually bought an extra cell battery and wall charger so that I would have access to MDE throughout my day if I need it - am I the only loser who actually did this? I still hope I'm not tied to my phone. I usually leave it in the room. Although, I usually tend to wish I had it with me to check wait times in the UndercoverTourist app.

Don't quote me on this, but I've from what I've read (and from what I've seen) Illuminations and Fantasmic! aren't available for FP+ except for Friday - Sunday.

Your not crazy. I have already bought chargers extra batteries and downloaded the ap on DHs phone with my info. Just in case. Lol. And my trip isn't until December and I have not been picked for testing. Yet. Hopefully. Lol. So I am the crazy one. Lol

I don't think FP+ has (currently) anything to do with the waits for Pirates and HM. It's early August. Aside from early morning and later at night, those attractions are going to have lines. I'm not sure what times of year MYD714 usually goes to WDW, but the peak summer months are rarely less than 20-25 minutes for those two attractions most of the day. Until about 2-3 hours before closing, that's pretty much their wait times from 11 AM onward.

I'm on my second day. I have not had any issues or seen any violent outbreaks. I have my FP+ when I wanted them and have not looked at my phone to reschedule. Im an AP holder and my MB worked at the park gate. It also worked fine coming in on the ME. It is so nice not to have to worry about a card or paper!! Just touch point and go!!

as is being discussed in one of the other threads, how many of those guests actually understand this is a test? Someone mentioned that guests who checked in had no clue and were given MBs. "This is our new program! We're rolling it out slowly and you are one of the lucky ones chosen to use it! It's great- just swipe your band and everything will be grand!"

There's never an excuse for violence and general jerkish behavior, regardless of the situation. But given how some guests behave without the FP+ twist, I can't say I'm shocked.

the sheets that they are providing with the bands say its a test. it also says they want feedback from the parts that were good and bad (or similar wording). that means to me that there is a possibility for something to go wrong.

The waits for those rides have been high for the last month when no FP+ testing going on. They are running at around at a 40% longer wait than the same dates last year according to Josh at Easywdw. He's remarked on it a few times recently. So I don't see why they are longer, but I don't see how it can be FP+s fault when it was happening when testing was not occurring.

Also FWIW, we go in August every year and I've rarely seen a wait time of more than 20 minutes at either ride, but we get the heck outta dodge in the afternoon.

This vacation is stressing me more than it should! Arriving from Canada to POP aug 13-24 I have customized my bands and selected fast pass + reservations when prompted. I have not received an invitation to participate in the test. I called because information has been wrong or missing several times and have gotten different answers. One, "you are from Canada, and will not be part of the test, there is a glitch" two, "maybe you are part of the test, have fun playing around with it" and last "you are part of the test" all my info is correct now except my DH birthday. I am happy either way, I have two plans made but would really love to know before we arrive.
