***MyMagic+ & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

This question has probably already been addressed in this thread, but I couldn't find it. I got my 8 day park hoppers from undercover tourist today. I went on MDE, linked them to my wife and I, as well as our wristbands. However, when I tried making FP+ selections, I was told I didn't have valid park admission. I called and spoke to an MDE expert and was told that, because my tickets have a credit card strip and not an RFID bix on the back, I can not link them to my reservation until I arrive... So much for FP+ in advance.

Anyone else encounter this?

So I wonder if you don't buy your tickets from Disney if you are out if luck. I bought mine from Expedia and just have a voucher and have had no luck linking it.

Hmmm, this is an interesting question! I don't know how they would know, and will the CM even be looking at the name?

CMs _have_ addressed guests by name when they've checked in, so at least some of them are looking.

I have not heard about any particular policy on this though. Given that the MagicBands are more than just a Fastpass, they might not want them being mixed up.

There does not appear to be a mechanism electronically to give FP+s from one person to another.

I don't believe this is true...others have used UT tickets perfectly fine from what I remember. I think the explanation was also garbage, as even the new tickets have a magstripe on them.

Were they green cards, or Tyvek "paper" tickets? I've heard UT started sending out the cards for some ticket types as they've run through their old stock. But it shouldn't matter at all. A ticket is a ticket.

A voucher may be different, as you haven't actually gotten a ticket. Not sure how tickets from Expedia works, but you may have just purchased a "purchase voucher" saying you've already purchased the tickets, but it isn't the tickets themselves, it only tells Disney you are entitled to the tickets and to issue them when you pick them up.

This is a bit different than Annual Pass vouchers (a.k.a. Exchange Certificates), which are essentially a type of ticket, just not good for direct park access.

Sorry, staying at Riverside

I have a log on for MDE site but no reservations come up and I can't link any in as doesn't recognise the reference number (maybe because a UK ref).

Im lost!!

In order to link it to MDE, you need to contact Disney to get the US confirmation number for your reservation.

I purchased tickets through UT and linked them to our reservation. I entered the number from the back of each ticket, and also reserved fast pass plus for BOG lunch and 3 attractions per day at theme parks

So question if we link will call tickets do we still need to go pick them up? I've never had to pick up tickets until this trip so I don't even know where I can pick them up. Is there a place in DTD or are the ticket booths at TTS or one of the other parks open late so we can go on our arrival day so we don't have to deal with it the next morning?

Okay, another ?
Our trip is Oct 31-Nov10 at AoA.
Today I was playing @ and it let me customize our magic bands:cool1:, but when I went to fp it said nobody was available. Now it lets me click on a date, Then it shows the correct people in the party with un-highlighted checks by them and tells me to select, when I select it turns green like it should, but when I click on next it just refreshes the same page it won't go to screen 3....Any suggestions or is this happening to anyone else?

I'm arriving Oct 30, and prior to today I could not make the FP+ reservations. Today at midnight EST, I was able to make the reservations and go through all the pages. I have read elsewhere that you can't make the FP+ reservations until 60 days in advance. Try again on 9/1--that would be 60 days prior to your arrival

Hope that works for you.

no idea on linking part but if you have to pick up tickets. Any hotel conceriage, Any guest relations or ticket window will work. There is guest relations at DTD one near Disney quest and one between team mickey and crystal store in marketplace.

if you booked through WDTC-UK (wdw's UK website) you need to call the UK number (or send them an email) requesting your 12 digits confirmation number.
They might also give you the 3 letters + 5 numbers confirmation number, either of which will allow you to link your ressie to MDE

then you'll be able to customise MBs and book FP+

if you booked through VH, Thomson or any other TA, you need to give them a call and request that 12 digits number.

Still there, still works. Unknown if the plan is still to remove it at some point, but odds are it will still be there in November.

Thanks - does this also mean FP+ testers are still able to get cards and potentially double dip, or have they officially announced cutting that off?

I am confused as to how people can double dip? If we have magic bands instead of paper tickets, what would we put into FP machines to get a FP ticket printed?

OK so I'm confused now! I've tried to book my fastpass things this morning (after transferring to POP) and I've managed to book all bar 1 day. However in Hollywood Studios there were only 2 rides I'll actually go on but its forced me to book 3. Why? This seems like such a waste. It was the same at Animal Kingdom where I only do 1 out of the ones they listed. Is there any way to change this? Also is it worth checking again in a few days to see if anything else is available? The full list of those on here didn't show and for one day only 4 rides in EPCOT showed but in another loads more did.

Even though you get a MB you are still given KTTW cards. These are what you use in the machines to "double dip". The two systems (FP+ and FP-) are not connected curently (in other words FP- can see you have FP+) which is what allows the double dipping.

The new FP+ system requires you to take all 3 if you use it. When first rolled out it is supposed to be you can use FP+ OR FP- but not both...so the concept is if you take 1 FP+ you might as well take all 3 you're allowed becasue you will be blocked from regular FP- the dat of. That said testers are being allowed to use both FP systems currently. Also there are only a limited number of FP+ for each attraction. If they are not showing up then those times are most likely gone.

This can be changed at any given time although I suspect they will leave it in place until they are finished with their "testing phase" and begin full out. FP in general seems to be Disney's way of thanking the testers for their patience (a lot of testers are reporting they are giving FP's away like candy when you experience a problem). :lmao:

It seems strange that in October (I'm on 59 days today) there are only Test Track, Living with the Land, Soaring and Mission Space available in EPCOT on the 1st November but on the 30th there was Space ship Earth, Captain EO & Journey which was why I thought I'd ask. It just seems stange when it is only just at the 60 day mark (although I realise that you will have people whose trips cover those days so maybe that is the case).

With the 3 ticket thing I was thinking more about the fact that I am now using a slot for Tower of Terror which there is no chance of me going on because it wouldn't let me choose just 2 options. I accept its best to use all 3 but when there aren't 3 rides that you'd actually do in the park or 3 on the list that appears then I just think its a little strange. I wouldn't go to the parks and get fastpasses for rides I wouldn't use so just though maybe I was doing something wrong but sounds like this is the only way to do it.

Before you assume the times are gone ensure you don't have a FP+ in competing times as it won't show availability for the hour you are booked. I had a 3:05-4:05 Tower of Terror thus Rock-n-Roll was displaying as open only at 6:00pm-7:00pm...when I deleted Tower of Terror all of a sudden Rock-n-Roll was available all day long...I selected 4:00pm and then went back and got a 3:00pm for Tower of Terror. Strange.

I also noticed a few days didn't have all attractions loaded...For example, MK 11/1 was missing half the attractions yet everything was showing on 10/26. I believe they weren't all loaded yet as it was a November date thus crossing over another month. I emailed IT and will call if it isn't popping up by next week.

Finally, I think I said this already but I found FP+ for parades going through the PLAN link even thought they weren't showing up through my FP+ link. Not that I got one...but it was there!!!

As of right now it is the only way. I would suggest changing the other 2 FP+ to attractions you would do or even something like Fantasmic (although that will not show up in your selection list till later...speculation is at the 30 day or sooner mark for right now).

As for the other issue it may have been a glitch too. A lot of people are experiencing periodic issues with the MDE system. It seems like there are a lot more people using it now then in previous testing phases.

It isn't the times that are the issue its the Attractions. Sounds like you had the same issue and hopefully it will be sorted soon. I'll just keep having a look. I'll also have a look and see through the PLAN link. Can you explain how to do this as I can't work it out!
