MyMagic+ executive gone, now Disney needs to remove certain fast passes

Right? I am worried there's a talking Mickey being held ransom somewhere. Disney's response is going to be asking for Proof of Life.

It would be interesting to know the actual attendance figures from spring 2014, spring 2013, and spring 2012, to compare them all. Park guests are reporting that ALL lines are longer, and the parks seem fuller, than ever before. I'm curious as to whether that's due to a true increase in attendance, or an apparent increase due to more people waiting longer in standby lines that really didn't exist very often before the advent of FP+.

I'm not quite sure how "we" can laud the addition of a 4th/5th/etc fastpass and simultaneously demand that popular high-volume rides like PoC and HM be removed from the FP system. Exactly what are guests supposed to use that 4th and later fastpass on, then? Maybe I'm missing the logic here.

These attractions that you're demanding be taken off FP+ are just the ones we're planning to book our FP+ for. Haunted Mansion & Spaceship Earth are two of our favorites (I'd say Pirates as well, but truth be told, we have the better version here at home :rolleyes1 ), and if we want to waste (as some would consider it) our FP choices on that, then so be it. The whole point of the system is that you can book whatever you want for the times that work for you. Taking attractions off the FP+ grid would negate the entire system.

We just returned and we did pull FP+s for all of the rides listed. It was nice to have a 9 am FP+ for SSE. Walk into the park and past past the hordes waiting for the ride. Then off to the land to use our Soarin' FP+.

I'm sure they'll be all broken up about it.

Seriously, I am all for writing letters to businesses to get what you want, but you have to word it correctly. The way that is worded, it will get a good laugh, maybe go up on a bulletin board even with a "Hey check this one out..." heading, and then get tossed in the trash.

This. Disney is a private company. It will respond to profits (or the lack thereof). Nothing else.

Which is why it gets away with its awful technology. We put up with it. I know I am. At least this one time. For my kids. I think it will take several years to see the effect, if any, of the problems with the techonology.

Sorry, I'm a hardcore fan and you definitely aren't speaking for me. I'm pretty happy with the new system and we did use FP+ for Spaceship Earth and POTC. We got to ride it without much of a wait when we wanted to which is what we love about FP.

I speak for the common folk and the hardcore fans. We will not negotiate with Disney. We fully expect fast pass plus to be removed from certain rides or the we will not attend. Inside numbers show a drop in attendance comparing this spring to 2013.
I'm trying to wrap my brain around "demands" put on Disney. Like they give a rats *** if you come back or not. With letters like this, they are probably glad you no longer plan to grace the park with your presence.

Right? I am worried there's a talking Mickey being held ransom somewhere. Disney's response is going to be asking for Proof of Life.
Good question, is there a hostage situation here we aren't aware of?

Since once of the objectives of FP+ was to get more people using the system, they had to add more attractions and events to the system so there would be enough to go around during moderate crowd times. We've already seen what happens during high crowd times - FP times become unavailable by late morning in all parks except MK where there are more choices.

If you remove FP+ from attractions, you will need use of the system to also go down - that means no more FP+ after 3 per person per day, or running out early even during moderate crowd times.

Congrats to Disney for hearing us. As many know, Disney continues to shake up management after such a terrible rollout of my MyMagic+. Now with more than 3 fast passes and adjustments for multiple parks, Disney has gone ahead and parted ways with Nick Franklin, the executive vice president for next generation experience at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney needs to push forward. Disney needs to continue to weed out the bullish executives that have mishandled the rollout.

But this can wait.

First, we demand that Disney remove fast passes from attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Spaceship Earth. There is absolutely zero good reasons to have fast passes for these rides. The employee(s) that suggested fast passes for these rides and the employee(s) that accepted this suggestion should be let go. Primitive research has found that fast passes for these rides has caused great fallout. We will no longer accept the fallout of these bad decisions. Within three months I fully expect fast pass removal from these types of rides.

Listening to insiders, I also expect a continued shakeup within Disney going as high as the CEO (retiring soon anyways). With the enormous backlash from a poorly managed mymagic+ to Universal attempting to be a true rival for marketshare, Disney executives are awake and highly concerned. They can continue the repair by removing fast passes from attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Spaceship Earth.

LOL (squared)...I have no idea if Franklin was pushed out or not, but he will most likely land a more lucrative gig with someone else...corporate turnover is nothing newsworthy...

as far a getting additional fast passes or multi park flexibility, those are all contingencies built into the grand plan from Day 1...social media may expedite the rollout, but please don't think that Disney "went back to the drawing board" to appease a few vocal detractors on the DisBoards...:rotfl2:

I don't know who you think you are OP, but I doubt your little letter will get much attention. I agree with a previous poster that it sounds more like a temper tantrum then anything else.

If it happens within three years, I'll be shocked.

Or, ever, really. Removing FP+ capacity means reducing guest usage of FP+. This is precisely the opposite of Disney's stated goal.

There's a lot is this world that I think are important enough to fight for. This is not one of those things.
I figured that, since the U.S. Senate is currently focused on changing the name of a NFL team, all the major problems in the U.S. had been remedied, so why not start solving those minor problems that are now all that is apparently left.

Didn't I just read that Spaceship Earth had more advance FP+ requests than any other ride at Epcot? And sometimes POC gets a long line.

I just don't see what the problem is.

LOL, did you think the OP really sent a letter?

Personally, I like having the FP+ on Spaceship Earth...mostly because I don't really have anything else to use it on. My Epcot FP+'s are almost always 1. Soarin or Test Track (usually Soarin because I don't mind riding TT single rider), 2. Mission Space and 3. Spaceship Earth. The rest (Living Seas, Living with the Land, etc.) have short enough standby lines. To me a much bigger deal at Epcot would be to remove the tiering...

As far as HM and POTC, I can't see going back...they're both MK headliners..I can't really justify them not having FP+.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least. Everything decent is in the same tier with only one choice available. You have to book 3, so you must choose 2 from tier 2 to get your desirable tier 1. What 2 tier 2's are you going to pick?

Actually, OP's rant sounds a little more like the ravings of certain creatures who live under bridges. Just sayin'
