My Zenni optical order--Update post 14

My DD measured my PD as 61, using the ruler technique they described, but when we went to Wal-Mart to pick up her contacts, I asked them to measure me and found I was really a 59. I don't think it's a noticable difference. If I had plans to wear these all day, I'd reorder some more and get the PD right.

:disrocks:

Where on the Zenni site is this???? I've looked everywhere but just can NOT find it! Would you mind pasting a link to the info? I'm ready to order some glasses as back-ups for the kids.

Go into any frame detail page, next to the PD field there will be a blue question mark, click on it, and you will find the instructions. I took a pair of dollar store glasses, put them on, and had my DP mark the center of my pupils on the lenses. We then measured dot to dot. We also used a ruler across the bridge of my nose.

Not sure this link is correct, as it if a pop up window

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it. I was checking out the Zenni website and their instructions on ordering frames. For the temple length it said to check the inside of frames you might already have. I have 2 pair of prescription glasses. My sunglasses that I paid many $$$ at the eye Dr. have a measurement of 135 and my regular glasses that I paid less than $100 for at BJ'S have a measurement of 145. I am confused. Does this mean I can order glasses that fall in between these 2 measurements. Both of my glassed fit fine, I do not see a difference in fit. Any input from you more experienced folks would be really appreciated. Thank you.

My Drs office would not give out the PD#. I wanted to order my DD a pair of sunglasses.. I spent $270 on her regular glasses (Coach brand for a 6yr old.. not sure what we were thinking.. but she's had them for 3 years so far.) Anyway, they had no problem giving me the script, but when I asked for the PD they said that would make them liable if there were any problems? How is that different from giving me the other #s? :confused3 I know we can measure it fairly well, but I was not happy.

The nerve of some people:mad: . I would call back and ask to speak to the doctor. By law, they must give you your presciption if you ask - and the PD is part of your prescription. If they still say no - ask them to show you in writing where it says they can't give it to you. They know what you want to do, so they are reluctant to give it out.

I get my eye exams at Sam's Club and I was able to get my PD at no problem. Perhaps another store could do a quick PD measurement for you.

Good luck, our family has ordered several pairs from Zenni and we love them.

ALso, my DD did my PD measurement using the technique that Zenni lists on their website, and then we checked it by asking a Wal-Mart employee to measure me (which they did for free no problem) and it was only off by one number. And my glasses, which were ordered with the "wrong" number are just fine!

Hi!

I'm trying to order glasses for my son.

On his prescription, it lists:

right eye -100-075 x 008

left eye -175-025x 163

PD 68

Now, when I try to input the data into the Zenni website, the firts two sets of numbers do not jive with the selrctions on the website.

Do you think it is supposed to be

-10.0 -0.75 x 008

-17.5 -0.25 x 163

???

My guess is -1.0 and -1.75 for the first number on each eye. I have never seen -17.5 and I think, -10.0 os legally blind...

Thank you! That makes so much more sense!

DS has almost no correction (per the OD LOL)

so I coulsn't figure out why Zenni added the charge for extra strong glasses! LOL

DH and I don't wear glasses, so we have no idea!
