My wife is in a panic

Thats the only part I don't like, or think is appropriate for a kid bear show.

Most children, unfortunately, see/hear, much more than that through electronic games and movies - if not there, just in life, in general. That's pretty mild and would go right over most little's heads. If they're old enough to 'catch' it, then they're old enough to discuss it with.

The show has changed since forever and we all saw it as kids. We all turned out OK - didn't we?

Heck, I was watching Spaceballs when I was little (which was rated PG, somehow) and started going to the Adventurers Club when I was 6. I turned out fine. Most of it went waaaay over my head at the time.

PG was the PG-13 of that era. Beetlejuice has the F word in it and it's PG.

The people who seem to be concerned should be grateful that isn't in it. 😉

I had already decided to make it a point to do the Country Bears on this trip, since I've never done it before. It didn't appeal to me when I was younger, being a thrill-seeker and not wanting to "waste" time on shows. I meant to do it last trip, but we never quite made the timing right. Now, knowing it might be gone for good the next time I go back, I'll be making absolute sure to get there. It was always my grandparents' favorite, and that alone makes me want to make sure I don't miss it.

It just occurred to me - puppets. Are they talking about marionettes, Muppets or the puppets they use at Nemo in AK or Frozen in DHS. Marionettes I'll reserve judgement, Muppets seems unlikely. Nemo/Frozen puppets? HARD pass! I have no interest in seeing that.

Personally, I could go either way - I've seen Country Bears, but I'm not attached to it.

...But good lord it should not be a Toy Story show. Make something original that better fits into Frontierland.

Well, Woody is a cowboy, so I think it fits like this:

I could see this happening. Not full Toy Story, but a "live" version of Woody's Round Up. Have Jessie, Woody, the Prospector, and Bullseye in an old Wild West type show. That way you have Buzz in Tomorrowland and Woody has his own spot in Frontierland. Kind of surprised they haven't done it sooner.

That said, I do like that there are nostalgic things preserved in the parks, and I'd be fine if they kept Country Bears.

The reality is even if they wanted to do something with CBJ they're going to have to knock that building down and more, or at least realistically they would have to unless they want everyone to stand in the heat.

The the show was designed for what it could handle in it's time and right now it's the right amount of space to still hold enough people prior to the show. Any time I do the show the room is either half full, or full. Also, unlike DL and Tokyo, it only has one show room, where as DL and Tokyo has two. So, not only the waiting area is smaller in general, but also the attraction space itself is smaller compared to others.

I am not sure about tear it down, but definitely expand the pre-show queue indoors (or at least fully covered). Or maybe stay with the Toy Story Land mantra, and have no shade.

What I'm saying is there really isn't enough room at all with the amount of space they have now, so how are they going to expand the pre-show queue indoors without knocking down a few walls, or making the building bigger somehow? The only way to expand the queue would be to, yes, move it outside, if they did nothing to the building. Which would block some of the traffic of the walkway and honestly would be unbearable with the heat.

They may have done that in the way back machine, but they honestly, have no excuse, or reason to do it now, air conditioning is more essential now more than ever. Apparently, some people can stand it, but the queue being an outside queue is one of the reasons why I haven't ridden SDD yet. However, I guess they're not hurting too much.

This is my thought. Im even okay if they completely rip it out. Attractions do sometimes run their course and the CBJ humor is definitely from a different era. But good lord it should not be a Toy Story show. Make something original that better fits into Frontierland. I like IPs in the park. Love them even. But every single attraction doesn't need to be IP related Mr. Chapek.
I think it fits perfectly. From what I've read it will be themed to the "Woody's Roundup" TV show that we see in Toy Story 2 with actual Marionette puppets.
Fits the theme, they are cowboys/girls.

The irony to me is that CBJ is Disney IP - in fact it’s “original Disney” IP as opposed to IP from a company that merged with/was bought out by Disney after that IP was created.

I've been informed by my DW that if this comes to pass we'd have to do a last minute WDW trip before it's gone. It's one of her favorite attractions, and I know she'll be crying when she leaves it for the last time.

We love Country Bears. My husband has a Buff T-shirt, he actually wore it this week. Last time we were in WDW we walked over and it was "down". We got a dole whip and then came back to frontierland to eat it hoping it would be back up when we were done. While eating the Frontierland Hoedown happened. It was a great expierence, when the hoedown was done CBJ was back open.

And now there are rumors about the Tiki Room being replaced with a Moana show. I don't like it. Well, I could, IF it's still the Tiki Room but with some additions (better than Under New Management though). The Stitch version in Tokyo is actually good, so if it's more like that, I could be okay. They need to keep the classic Tiki Room songs though. Really though I don't really understand the need to "IP everything" in this manner. It's silly.

As long as they keep the first song, I'm fine with changing the rest. The Hawaiian luau/war chant is good, but replaceable, and I've never cared much for "Sing like the birdies sing". What would make the show much more repeatable is if they could program multiple shows, then alternate between them.

Yeah, it's funny, because I love the Tiki Room more than CBJ, but I think that adding Moana to the show is not as bad. Maybe it's because I like Moana better than Toy Story and it seems like a better fit. I could go with a show like this:

Opening - In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
Moana joins and maybe sings a medly including some songs from her movie and songs from the Tiki Room
Tropical Luau with Moana/Tiki War Chant
Maybe a new Final Number
Heigh-Ho - Heigh Ho.

I could live with that. It preserves the theme but adds something new. We still have the original TIki Room in DL anyway.

Or Moana could join as a wise-cracking, meddling manager and add an unnecessary hip new spin on the songs.

Oh, sorry - having PTSD flashbacks to a previous version of the show. Carry on...
