Hello, I'm a bit of a newbie at gardening. I planted tulips last year ( I live an hr north of NYC) along with 3 small rose bushes in my front garden. I have the rose bushes covered because they are still calling for snow showers but I can see my tulips starting to sprout!!!! Will they die off before spring is sprung ?!Anything I could do to stop them from dying?

They should be fine. I have daffodils and asters popping up right now and have never had a problem. If you're concerned, particularly if it's going to get exceptionally cold, pack around them with mulch or leaves.

I'd do what Dom13 suggests...throw some leaves over them, if you can see the flower buds. If it's just leaves, I wouldn't worry too much.
