Day 3 and Day 4 of our Halloween trip

Castmember:
Myself (27) 13th trip to DLRP!
Boyfriend (37) 10th trip. Says he loves to see my special smiles while at Disney!
We booked 3 nights and 4 days at Newport Bay Club!
30. October 2006 – 2. November 2006
Special about this trip: Halloween night included!

After returning from the Halloween night to our NPBC room at 1am we decided to have the breakfast delivered to our room the next morning. That is something that we have never done before and at the NPBC it only costs 10€ extra.

We were surprised about the breakfast as it was much better than at the restaurants of the hotel. For instance you get your cheese in slices and not in cubes!
But for further visits we will still prefer to have our breakfast in the restaurants because the atmosphere there is just great!

The 1st November was a bank holiday in France and so we tried to make the best of this day. We started at 10am at the Studios with Rock n’ Roller Coaster, Animagique, Aladdin and Studio Tram Tour. We skipped the Saloon because when we entered the Disneyland Park at 12:00 the park was very crowded and so we only did a little shopping and went back to the hotel afterwards to go to the pool. The pool of the NPBC is great! And although the parks were very crowded the pool was almost empty.

At 4pm we returned to the park but we decided to skip the parade and to go on the train for a ride around the park. And when we passed Mainstreet we saw a part of the parade from the train.
We left the train in Fantasyland and when we left the station it began to rain for 20 minutes. We decided to go on POTC as most of the waiting line is covered. After the pirates we had a walk through the tree house of the Robinsons and at 6pm it was time for our reservation at the Silver Spur Steakhouse. This was our first time in this restaurant. The food was good but as usual we had a lousy table. If you are only two you always get a table in an empty corner or near the service rooms or near the exit. That’s why I love Walt’s so much, because almost every table is perfect.
After dinner we did BTM, PM, Pinocchio and a little shopping. The park is so beautiful in the dark. I just love to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

The last day (2nd November) started with breakfast and our check out. We had booked the last night at the Holiday Inn and so we changed the hotel.
On our last day we wanted to start again with BTM but it was broken again. After waiting for 20 minutes we decided to get FP’s and to return later. Usually BTM is always the first ride in the morning. But during this visit it had technical difficulties every day!
And so the schedule of the last day was:
Indiana Jones, Saloon Mickey, BTM and 2 times Buzz.
And then it was time for the Halloween parade. We choose again Fantasyland to watch it.

And it was great as usual. After our last parade we did our favourites POTC and BTM again. And then it was time for our Blue Lagoon reservation. All places were filled but no wonder as the park was very crowded the whole week.
After dinner we did one more time POTC and IASW. And then it was time for a premiere: The first time Space Mountain 2 for both of us. It was great and not as hard as many fans have said. We reached the exit of SM2 at 8:55pm and so we headed to Mainstreet because I wanted to hear the official Goodbye.

This was again a perfect trip. But we will not return for the Halloween night. The resort is too crowded (BTM 120min, POTC 60min) and the Halloween night this year was nothing special! But we would love to return for a normal Halloween trip. :thumbsup2

The last day was filled with a little shopping at and our flight back home!

Just finished your report, thanks for sharing! And although I said it before, you take beautiful pictures!:cloud9: Especially the night shots, I have to try that with my new camera too. Gotta love Halloweenseason at DLPpirate:

Lovely photographs Marcus, love the pool and breakfast looks very nice.
Interestingly our coach driver last time made a point of asking people not to steal from the breakfast table, she said she was disgusted the previous week, when the travel industry was invited to the park to see travel agents filling bags with breakfast rolls for lunch, according to her it's the reason why DLRP serve cubed and not sliced cheese now.

Thanks for the report and your review of the Halloween season.:goodvibes

Thank you for the compliments!
You can get great nighttime pictures even with simple cameras if you use a tripod! I bought myself a small one (15cm) this will fit in your pocket and then you can use it after dark. I often use waste bins or ledges.
The castle picture was made with help of a waste bin near Auberge de Cendrillon!

That's a tasty looking breakfast and a great tip about room service :goodvibes

Great report, thanks for sharing. I loved the photos:goodvibes

Thanks...great report! We were there at the same time and can relate to the crowds...it was soooooo busy! But a great atmosphere and we enjoyed it immensely. I think we are giving Halloween a miss this year because of Florida plans for 2008, but we will certainly be back for Halloween 2008!

Thanks :thumbsup2
I enjoyed hearing about your trip!
I don't think I would've liked the huge crowds either though.

Yes it is kind of weird to wait over 60 minutes for a POTC ride! But on the other hand; while you are waiting you get a real feeling for the attraction and your eyes have get use to the darkness so you can see more details!

But we still prefer times when the resort is not so crowded like during the Halloween week!
