As our September trip approached, I was beside myself with excitement.
But here I am, 8 days from our December trip, and I keep forgetting about it. Sure sure, I'm on the Dis and other boards, but I'm on message boards all the time (laptop is in the living room, easily accessed and always connected, lol) so that's not indicative of an approaching trip for me.
DS and I are leaving next Wednesday morning, and will have 1.5 days at DL/DCA on our own! Yikes! I'm still trying to figure out what to do that first half-day, but I'm strongly leaning towards DCA.
Then we'll have all of Thursday before DH joins us late that evening. Then the three of us have Friday and Saturday, and that should be fun, though it will be a challenge packing everything we didn't do in September (shows, mainly!) into those days. On Sunday, my brother and sister in law join us, then halfway through the day DH has to fly back for work, and once the rest of us are done for the day, DS and I will continue on to San Diego for over a week with them. Where I'm sure we will visit SeaWorld and maybe even Legoland if we're brave.
I know all this intellectually, but I'm having problems getting *excited*, or feeling anything more than "omg 1.5 days on my own with my rambunctious 3.5 year old? augh!", and trying to figure out how I'm going to lug carseat, lightweight stroller (should I just check that, rather than gate-check it?), DS's little backpack, and my camera, laptop, and usual purse-related stuff through the airport...
It does not feel normal to have these near-negative feelings about this trip, when I KNOW how lucky I am to get to go again so soon!!!!!!!!!
