I put a pot pie in for lunch, I went back an hour later, to take it out, and it look hardly cooked. I felted the top of it and it was cold, then I noticed the oven itself was cold! Put the pie in my big oven, sure enough checked the toaster oven and it is dead! :sad2:

I got 5 years out of this little oven, so I am not complaining. Now I can go shopping for a new one, but this time I want to get a nice small counter oven instead of a toaster oven! :woohoo:

I never realized how much I used that little oven! So do you have a toaster oven?

I have a four-slice toaster that is on it's last leg.....actually, I am waiting for it to burn the house down!! I can't decide what to get to replace it....toaster (2 or 4) or toaster oven!? :confused3

I have a toaster oven but it cooks stuff so unevenly I never use it.

I do have a toaster oven and use it all the time. It's one of the handiest appliances in my kitchen. My DH is afraid of it though...he'd rather heat up the regular oven. Go figure!

Did you read my link? You might want to replace it sooner rather than later--ours was a very close call and if we hadn't been home it really would have burned the house down and killed the animals. :( Gave me nightmares when I thought about it later.

Our toaster oven died last fall. We bought a plain old boring 2 slice toaster. It doesn't make a Mickey on your toast or anything.

Better it die than your hubby set it on fire like mine did!!! :lmao:

We never did replace it. He is lucky he is allowed near the microwave as he managed to set a frozen burrito on fire in his parent's microwave.

Hmmmm... trying to remember why I let him in the kitchen...

I didn't see your post until after I had posted. We keep our toaster on a cart and move it over to the counter and plug it in when we want to use it, then unplug it and put it back on the cart for storage when it cools down. But, it sometimes smells funny and makes crackling noises! I should just throw it out....that would force me to replace it! :teeth:

DH is obsessed with electrical appilances.....no matter what size! He goes around unplugging everything around the house and I go around plugging things back in so we can use them. It sometimes seems like I am running around in circles!! *sigh*

:rotfl: That's good. Before our near fire I had always made fun of people who unplugged appliances.

I know.....he and I have had *discussions* about the "unplugging" but maybe I should just leave him alone...! :teeth:

That's because he's your DH and what he does is going to drive you crazy. Trust me, I understand! :rotfl2: I REALLY understand! :teeth:

I'm an obsessive small appliance unplugger. Whenever I get through with whatever appliance I'm using, the plug gets pulled. I probably overdo it but better safe than sorry!

We received a toaster oven as a wedding gift back in June 2000. Our just died a few months ago. We decided to get a small, cheap toaster instead since we hope to buy a house later this year and don't know what kind of kitchen we will have.

That is what DH does and says, too. The only reason it bothers me is that I am the only one that seems to be the next one to use the appliance! I turn it on and come back later and it hasn't come on....like making coffee or something. I understand.....but it can get old..... I guess we are both getting too old to remember to plug anything back in before we need to use it again! :teeth:

I am thinking of getting a cheap toaster, too, and getting a toaster oven later...... :confused3

No toaster oven here.

lI have a plain toaster and I cannot live without my microwave! No use for toaster oven. I have a big Amana oven.

herc.

I can't tell you the number of times I've put in bread to toast or waited for that first cup of coffee that I really need in the morning....then five minutes later remember I never did plug in the appliance. Darn!!!

I am a little obsessive about appliances and my friends make fun of me because I unplug my toaster oven everytime. I will not run washer or dryer when I am sleeping or not home. I will not run dishwasher after I have gone to bed - I run it while we are watching tv ( it is quiet). Ya just never know. Thank you Tigger&Belle you confirmed my worst nightmare.
