I'm still holding 2 ressies (HIFS & CP) because I just cant commit to either one. DH isn't helping at all!!! I was soooo excited about CP, the kids were sooooo excited and now DH is whining because of the whole HIFS breakfast thing (convenient) and...........get this........the fact that there's no maid service at CP! (I thought I was the maid??? )

I am making myself sick trying to make a final decision. DH never gets involved with vacation planning - I do it all. I just tell him when he needs to take off from work. Usually this works just fine! Now all of a sudden he has issues! :( I want him to enjoy our trip as much as the rest of us.......... afterall he's the one busting his butt at work every day for us.

I am really sick over this.

sorry for the vent.

curly :worried:

I've never been to CP but have been to HIFS and LOVE it!
How old are your children? That may make the difference.
Whatever you decide will be the right decision DON'T WORRY!
Let us know what you decide!

Oooh, tough one. Vent away. But if dh is that worried about it maybe he would feel more confident about CP if you laid out in print all the reasons why it's a better choice for the whole family? No maid service? How about using disposable dishes and getting each kid to make their own bed? Mind you, sometimes I feel it takes less energy for me to make the beds then to be constantly after them to do it! Or, just tell dh "Hey I'm the one who researched this whole trip, so you just shut up and enjoy the ride!" JUST KIDDING!

Why don't you compromise and split your stay?

I have done this a couple times and it has worked well. We usually stay onsite at Disney or Universal a couple nites and then switch to an offsite suite with w/d, more room, etc.

This will work if you have a car. If not, it'd be a hassle.

Good luck, your DH should be pleased his wife is such a good vacation planner and just enjoy the trip!

One thing about no maid service. I really like having no one in our rooms when we are gone for the day. We can make our own beds and throw a few things in the dishwasher. No big deal. We usually use paper plates and cups anyway.

Hi everyone! Good Points!

About spliting the stay? No, that never works for us. I like to get there unpack....enjoy..........pack it up again and go home. We are staying at RPR for 1 night and just doing an overnight bag.

My 3 dd's are 8,10,12 - we stayed at HIFS in '01 and really LOVED it. I guess I'm worried it will be too "babyish" for the girls. Don't get me wrong....I love kids and I love the fact that HIFS is sooo family friendly. I just wonder if it attracts "younger" families and the girls will be bored.

Oh, I don't know what to do.
HIFS? :confused3 Cypress point?:confused3

Cypress point, and all its "space" works for me (esp. 3 bathrooms.......oooh la la) and I like the non-hotel atmosphere. Hotels are ok for 3-4 days but a week is pushing the whole togetherness thing, ya know?

arghhhh!

OK, I've made my decision :) LOL based on the ages of your kids. Like I mentioned, we've been to HIFS too and loved it. But, my oldest is 10 and if she were the youngest, as your 8 year old is, I think I would go with CP. HIFS only has 1 bathroom. CP has THREE!!!**** I also am not into changing hotels in the middle of my stay. I want to arrive, unpack and just do it once. Will you have a car? We always rent a car whether onsite or not, just so much easier.
Plus, you've been to HIFS before, so now to try something new.
Or, opps, I forget which one you want. I'm leaning toward CP but will change my mind if you rather go to HIFS LOL

js has a good point!

Try something new!

:hyper: you guys are too funny LOL~

Yep, we're renting a car (National fullsize $119) :D

DD's are due home from school soon. I am gonna leave it up to them. :scared:

I'll let you know...........

CP has a nice location for going to downtown disney and Bahama Breeze and Uno's Pizza. Quick I-4 access for IOA drive too. Keep going west (away from I-4) on 535 and you'll find a Winn Dixie (think) where you can stock up on frozen waffles, poptarts, cereals and breakfast sandwiches. Also, I hate making my own coffee for some reason and there is a bagel shop in a strip so close you could walk (I jump in the car and come back with coffee and a bag of bagels and use store bought cream cheese.) Its a good quick breakfast. You really only need the two bedroom if you put two kids in one room and the other in your king bed and then move her to the foldout when you are ready to go to sleep. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Well..........the kids made their choice. Apparently bathrooms are not an issue. It's HIFS for us! They want their daddy to be happy. :goodvibes Oldest dd said she doesnt mind sleeping on the pull-out. What a champ! Dh will be happy! :bounce:

I guess I'm relieved.........I don't have to worry about it anymore.

But I'll tell you what. Next year when HIFS is charging outrageous rates (and not offering that dang breakfast) this family will be hanging at the cypress or vistana or some other great priced place with lots of space!!! You can bet on that!

You can get maid service at CP. It just costs extra. If you're inclined to change your mind, what about just getting it for a couple of days? Use paper products rather than real dishes, and just throw your stuff in the trash when you finish. I do that in a regular hotel room anyway, rather than leaving it piled up for the maid. I don't clean my bathroom every day at home, so I don't need it done on vacation, either. They give you plenty of towels, and lots of places offer a free exchange in the middle of the week if you don't feel like washing them.

Since it's not a hotel room and everything's not out in the open, do the beds really need to be made every day??? It's vacation! When I was down there last week at Silver Lake, I never completely made up my bed the whole time! I would pull the covers up, but I didn;t make it a neat, tucked in and pretty. Why bother? Call me lazy if you want. :teeth:

Hey lisa ~

I am the lazy one. I hate housekeeping period but I still wouldn't pay the outrageous maid service fees CP charges daily for.

We will be fine at HIFS. Been there before and we did say we wanted to go back. It really is a great family hotel!

I'm just the queen of 2nd guessing!!!

Always a good idea to keep the hubby happy. ;) . Maybe you can find the time to drive over to CP and check it out for next time! It's not that far away from HIFS.

Hey Johnny~ Hubby is very happy!

I plan on checking CP out but only at the end of my trip LOL. I don't want to know what I could be missing until it's time to go home. ;)

I hope the construction at hifs isn't noticable.

Thank you everyone for your help and support!

I can't believe that a man traveling with 4 women would not want the extra bathrooms! In four years it will be a different story. Did you show him the pictures someone very nicely posted on here? That sold my husband. Did he see the big screen tv? My husband never wants to have anything to do with the planning either. He will ask me when are we going? about 10 times. On our cruise last year he asked me where we were going when we got in the car for the long drive to Florida. I always narrow it down to two or three hotels and then show him the pictures and tell him why he needs to pick the one I want him to.

You better believe your DH will want the biggest accomodations you can afford in a few years with 3 DD's, LOL.

Hey - we leave in 14 days!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! :hyper:

Have hubby read some of the recent (today?) posts about HIFS, might help him come around. The one who does the most research is probably the one in the position to make the most informed decision. ;-)

:sunny: Doesn't matter anymore. I've already cancelled CP - no big deal just a $10 penalty.

HIFS here we come. :D I know the kids will enjoy it, dh will get his breakfast and what the heck I'm going on vacation!!!!

Give me sun, a palm tree or two and dinner out every night and I am HAPPY!!!!

ooooooooooh! 11 more days :Pinkbounc
