I woke up the other morning to find that Jacob (2.5 years) had already waken up and had turned on the TV. He was sitting up beside me in bed, completely mesmerized by what was on TV. Looking at his face, you would have thought he was watching a kids' show, but he wasn't. It was an infomercial for the Magic Bullet. (If you haven't seen that one, it's a blender-type thing.) He was completely into the show, and he was saying, "Put the chicken in. Put the cheese in. Push the button." :rotfl2:

I needed to nurse the baby and decided to let him watch the infomercial since he was so into it. He ended up watching that silly thing for another 5 or 10 minutes, until I turned the TV off. I was facing away from him, but I kept hearing him exclaim things like, "That's berries! That's yogurt!" :rotfl:

I guess I should cancel my Tivo season's pass for the Wiggles and start recording cooking shows for him.

My mom and DD3 watch the cooking channel all the time, then they have to cook something after...The amount of muffins we have had in the past year is silly :teeth:

I keep saying that someone in our family needs to be a good cook because DH and I have no clue.

How cute that must have been though!

Oh, if one of my children had ever expressed an interested in cooking I would have signed them up for lessons in a New York minute!! :rotfl:

That is too, too funny! :teeth:

I can totally relate. My son ws mesmorized by those commercials for the Egg Wave. I don't know if you remember it, but it was a little container, you would put the egg in there and shake it up to scramble it. Then you would microwave it. He cried and cried that he wanted one for Christmas. He was the happiest kid in the world when he opened the box.

Then the commercial came out for the Handy Chopper and he got one of those too.

Of course he is older now and doesn't watch infomercials anymore. I guess it saves me on shipping and handling!

OMG- my kids' were totally mesmerized watching this the other day. And they're 12 & 8 yrs old. They even went so far as to write the 800 number down to order.

And last night, DS8 was mixing some stuff for dinner and he turns to me and says that this would be a lot easier if we had the magic bullet. And proceeds to tell me how I can use it to mix vegetables up into foods and they won't know they're in there!!

maybe they've got some secret coded messages in these commercials that only kids' can hear??

I can totally relate. The kids in our playgroup were talking about what they wanted to be for Halloween (Spiderman, Princess, etc.). DD pipes up and says "I'm going to be Rachel Ray!" :rotfl: Gee, think I watch the Food channel a lot? ;)

My son started helping in the kitchen at that age. By middle school, he was cooking meals for the family.

The magic bullet is a great product. I got it for christmas last year and my daughter who is 5 loves it.
