:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: My son, 25, just got back from the store, and he was carded for buying Red Bull and Sobe Power Juice. He said the cashier was elderly and insisted on seeing his ID.

After I stopped laughing, I asked him if he told her there was no alcohol in the drinks. He said no, he had his wallet out anyway and decided it would be less of a hassle to just show her his ID. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:lmao:

They need to do something to keep people from buying that nasty stuff! GROSS!!!!!

At some stores, they card for any items that can be used in making mixed drinks. :confused3 Maybe this is why??

I can understand that, especially if you live in a state (other than PA)where they sell alcohol in grocery stores. I have no idea what is in Red Bull, or how it's packaged, so I might make the same mistake.

LOL, do they card for marachino cherries, olives, limes and lemons too? How about salt or sugar?

Sometimes this big brother crap is just overboard.

Unless there is a law deeming an item unlawful for a minor to purchase, I would be VERY unhappy to be carded for it. JMHO

That is sooooooooooooo funny! :lmao:

I don't drink, never have, but I am usually more insane at a party than those who do. This is mainly due to the fact my drink of choice at a party is Red Bull. :thumbsup2 Seriously, 2 cans of the stuff and I'm away with the fairies! :tink:

I was once carded for marachino cherries since they were only avaiable from the liquor section of that store.

Would they also card for Coke or 7Up? This stuff is getting downright weird lately.

Lol, yeah and how about that Ginger Ale? You know it's not always used to soothe an upset stomach!

You are right, it's getting weird.

"Ice! Ice! You wanna buy ice! You want ice, I need I.D."

I can see it now. :teeth:

Hey, I never siad I thought it made sense. I was just offering up a possible reason why he was carded. I thought it was very strange when all I was going to use the cherries for was make a cherry soda, but I just shrugged my shoulders and showed them my ID.

Red Bull is an energy drink. It's usually found in the soft drink aisle or the same place you might find Gatorade. There is no alcohol whatsoever in it. Funny thing is, he buys it all the time at this same store, a convenience store, and has even had the same cashier ring him up before. This was the first time he was asked to show his ID. He's pretty easy-going about things and it didn't really bother him. He just thought it was comical.

Like another poster said, I wonder how many kids the cashier has carded today! :rotfl:

I have 2 cases of redbull right now (one sugar free, one regular) if anyone wants to come over and join me for a party, I won't card you, I promise :teeth:

Your son sounds like a nice young man! I bet most kids would have ARGUE with the clerk! But he seemed very mature and professional in his demeanor and just simply satisfied the clerk by showing his ID!!! PERIOD :thumbsup2

Me, on the other hand, is a "hot headed Irishmen" (woman)...I would have had this attitude..."Umm, ma'am, sir...are you aware there is no alcohol in either of these items I am purchasing"!!! "Are you?".... :furious:

You son sounds like my son, I would advise my DS to act the way your son did and yet I would probably NOT!!!! I cannot believe I am admitting that but it is true..as I read your Post..I am "ASSUMING" that he is going to be "all over that clerk" and yet as your Post went on...I WAS VERY IMPRESSED!!!!!!

GOOD JOB, MOM.....GOOD JOB :thumbsup2

Give me some hard stuff like plain ole Coke.

How on earth can you stand that stuff? ::shudder::

I stopped at a grocery store on the way home from work tonight and they had a sign at the register that ID was required to purchase certain energy drinks, maybe this is something new..
