Good morning! I know I haven't been around in a while(just kinda lurking), but I really need prayers for my sister. She has been under a lot of stress lately at work(found out in February that her boss has terminal cancer and it's just the two of them to run the store) and has really been ignoring her own health. She has been working 9-10 hours a day, 6 days a week since then. She was already have some chest pains before all his health problems were identified. About three weeks ago we finally got her to see a doctor. They set up an arteriorgram(sp??) for yesterday morning at a local hospital. Something went wrong during that and they had to airlift her to Montgomery(about 70 miles from home) for immediate surgery. She had a severe heart attack on the flight there. They rushed her into surgery where they ended up having to do a triple bypass. She has some heart damage, but not sure how much at this time. The doctor told us that had she not been airlifted, she probably wouldn't have made it. When I left last night, she was still heavily sedated and still on the respirator. My BIL and niece can't see her again until 10 this morning. I am anxiously awaiting their call. She is only 51 years old. But, heart trouble and disease runs in our family. I have had to come home because of my kids, but as soon as school is out today I am going back to the hospital. So, please, if any of you can spare an extra prayer or pixie dust, please send it her way. She is the only family I have left on my side(our Mom and Dad have both passed away in the past 4 years). Thanks for listening!

Oh my, how scary! My prayers and well wishes go out to your sister.

I'll pray for your sister and all who are caring for her.

How scary for you and your family!

Thank God they got her in time! I know so many people just thriving after bypass surgery, I know she'll be okay!

God bless,

Robinrs

So sorry to hear that, Jane. :( My very best wishes with prayers for your sister. Hope the worst is behind her now and she will be on the road to a full, quick and healthy recovery. Please you or Ashton keep us updated as to how she does. My best for all of you too.

And a blessing asked for her boss also, that if not a miracle, then comfort for him and family.

I'm keeping your sister, her family and her boss in my prayers. {{{{hugs}}}} to you.

Prayers on the way! I hope she gets better soon.

Prayers on the way for all of you.

in getting a reply to you. Thanks for all the prayers!

OK, here goes! She has been pretty heavily sedated and on the respirator most of the weekend. They let her wake up some Friday afternoon and she became so agitated that she actually disconnected the respirator tube. They went ahead and took it off an just put her on an oxygen mask, but her breathing became so irregular that they had to put her back on the respirator. As of early this morning, she was still on the respirator and still heavily sedated. At 10am BIL went in to see her and she was still on the respirator but semi conscious. She has been really agitated before today when they let her kind of wake up. This morning though she was pretty calm and would look at BIL when he talked to her. She was also trying to breathe along with the respirator. The nurse told BIL that they were waiting on the pulmonary doc to check her to see about getting her off the respirator. At 2pm, that doc had seen her and said her lungs sounded clear and strong. If she is still doing well tomorrow morning, they will try to take her off again. The surgeon told us that her heart attack was really severe and due to the fact that the triple bypass followed so quickly, her recovery will probably be long and slow. He did follow that remark, though, saying that she had already exceeded his expectations for recovery thus far. That made us feel a little better. I can't wait to hear tomorrow morning's news.

This has been a long weekend, as Savannah's(my 6yo DD) dance rehearsal was Friday night and the recital was Saturday night. Then I was back at the hospital bright and early yesterday to see sis. Steve met me with the kids at noon and we took them to the zoo for a couple of hours. After that right back to the hospital for the 6pm visitation. Today, I had to take Ashton(Oddball) to finish getting her braces off and get her retainer.

I am gonna try to get back to the hospital(75 miles from home) tomorrow after I pick the kids up from school and get them settled. I will probably spend the night and will update you all again when I get home Wednesday night.

Thanks again for all the prayers! You all know the power of prayer and I really appreciate everything(especially the listening)!
See ya!

Thanks for the update, Jane. Wow!! Some tough days there. Hope your sister mends well, recovers in good shape. She, you and all your family remain in my prayers.
