My shirts are done

I am so sorry to say that I don't remember who did the first plane ride design. For all of my planning, I failed to write down who did what design. I do know tho that wickedmom75 did the swirly one..only because I had to search and search for her and I did find the scrap paper with info. Thanks for the compliments, I couldn't have done them without of you awesome and dedicated designers..You are all part of my magical trip come August 10:) In case you wonder, it's a mere 164 days away:) I will post pictures of the kids in the shirts when we get back...

Awesome shirts, and we'll also be in Disney August 10th (that's my dd7's birthday) wearing some great DIS shirts...

O.K. - I'm going to look at Target, Walmart and Staples. Thank you everyone. It sounds like Avery truly is the only way to go. Now, do you have any tips about what not to do and to do in regard to when I do the actual transfers. I know to try it on a practice t-shirt first, but any hints on the amount of time to keep the iron on, etc.
Thanks so much.

I found them at Walmart here in the stationary aisle. They were near the card stock on the bottom shelf. I bought one pack of the dark transfers (5 sheets $9.99). Hope you were able to find some.

For the name loveladyntramp, I cut the letters out..some say I was nuts, but I did it anyway:) For the first plane ride, I only have the one that has Peyton's name on it...sorry...

could you post the picture of the plane anyway, I can just take the name out of it. Thank you

I found the Avery paper in the special paper section in Wal-Mart and Target, but Wal-Mart was a few dollars cheaper:)

Ksloan, we will be at Disney beginning August 10th also:) Maybe we will be in the same magical place at the same magical time:)I am so excited..I am taking my step-granddaughter and my sister's 8 year old grandson and they have no idea as to all of my surprises..this includes the shirts, ressies for meals and mail....yahoooo I can't wait. Only 162 days:)

tigger7570, I use a hot iron, no steam, and just iron it over and over, all over, just don't leave the iron in one area any place too long. Then before you take the thin paper off, be sure the shirt is cool---I found this out the hard way...Good luck..

You cut out each letter? :worship: Wow! I don't have the patience to do that. Is that the only way to not get the white between the letters? I guess mine will just have to have a white background.
Thank you for letting me know. I hope your family enjoys all your surprises. Do you know about 'Paying It Forward'? It's a thread in the THEME PARKS ATTRACTIONS AND STRATEGIES. That is a cool surprise for kids (and adults).

loveladyntramp, I didn't know about paying it forward, I will check it out, thanks:) I don't know if you could run the name on the light transfer or not, that way the letters would print, but it may not show up. I printed my shirt without cutting the letters out and it looks good.

Marilyn,

Do you have a picture of the green swirly Mickey head you can post here? It looks awesome and I know my son would LOVE it!

Many thanks! pixiedust:

Hi Everyone!
Thank you. Thank you. I went to Target and I found the Avery dark transfers for $10.99 for five. I am so happy that I found them. Thank you for the great tips about how to do the transfers. The shirts are washed, I have the designs, I have the transfer paper so it's on to the last steps.

noahdove - your shirts are awesome! I have a question about transfer paper. Amy did some terrific designs for me. I ordered and received the t-shirts (Jiffyshirts) and they are great. Someone had suggested using Avery transfer paper. I'm having a hard time finding it. Now, I've checked Joann's A.C. Moore and Michael's and none list dark transfer paper and none have Avery. I was wondering where I can pick up dark transfer paper and does it make a difference if it's not Avery. I'll need to pick it up rather than order on line because the time is getting short. Thanks so much.

I just got the Avery transfers tonight at Wal-Mart. At our Wal-Mart they had the white and the dark transfers.
Hope this helps!!
Heather
