My rate just changed at WL. What happened?

We're arriving at WL on this Sat and just received a e mail and the first thing that caught my eye was that the rate had changed. I then noticed that instead of a std view they had me down for a woods view. I'm assuming that they are out of std view rooms for that week and they are upgrading us. I always thought they did this at no extra charge. My total amount due has went up by about $185 and just made a payment Monday and my total amount due then was still the old amount. I've made copies of everything. Is this standard procedure to this? I could understand state or county taxes increasing which would cause the price to increase. Just curious about this and was seeing if anyone would reply before Disney Travel opens. Thanks in advance!

I saw a post just like yours a week or two ago. This person had already paid their final payment and then received an email saying they had an outstanding balance. After calling and the CM being a little confused and checking with a manager, they came back and said they were being upgraded and the outstanding amount had been taken care of. I believe their resort was the beach club or yacht club. Hope that helps!

Thanks Jen! Just was curious about this wanted to know a possible answer before I called Disney Travel in a little while, Kinda nerve wracking to have everything budgeted and all of a sudden see a noticable price increase. I think Disney Travel still opens at 7am and i'll give them a call and post what they said and did. Thanks again!

First of all i'm sorry for being late on letting you know what happened but I called Disney Travel and spoke to a very nice CM who in turn transferred me over to a extremely nice lady by the name of ***** in Guest Services and she wanted me to fax all my paperwork over to her for her to confirm everything. I did and she said she would be back to me in apx 1 hr. Well in 30 min she called back and said everything was straightened out. She said that I would still see the rate increase if I logged in to their website but on the internal hotel system it still showed my original rate and I did owe any more than originally quoted on the std room. She did say that the std rooms were in fact oversold for which they give us a free upgrade to a woods view. She did say for me to take all my paperwork in to check in. She said that she documented everything just in case any problems did arise. Extremely nice service from both people! I feel relieved now!

Congrats on the Woods View!

We stayed at the WL in September and had a Woods View. The first room they put us in was overlooking the loading dock... not very woodsy. We asked to switch, and this is what we got:

I didnt really want to pay for the extra cost of the woods view because of our budget and really thought that they wouldnt charge us for it but if the truth was known I probably wouldnt have fought it too much if it had come down to it. Sorry about posting the name of the CM. Just wanted to give her some good credit. I'll know not to in the future. Thanks!

Don't post her name her but DO send a nice note to Disney about her. More often then not people will complain about a CM to managment but few ever COMPLIMENT a CM to management.
