My family stayed at the Poly again this year October 3-11th over Columbus day weekend/week. We had a great time! I have to say last years stay at the Poly was better though. We checked in at 12:30 PM and got a Samoa 2nd floor room, which was fine with me. Our room was not ready until after 3 PM so we spent some time at the Pool & had lunch at Captain Cooks. Loved the new Captain Cook's. Last year it was in the temporary location since they were remodeling it. When we finally got to our room it was filthy, full of dust and the bathroom was not clean. The rugs and curtains were also in desperate need of washing so we had to switch rooms. The only thing they had was a third floor in Samoa facing the quiet pool side, which we could not see because of the big bush. It was a cleaner room but their was still alot of dust on the desk & armoire, which we cleaned. Housekeeping was pretty bad this trip. We did tip $4-5 everyday and they gave us extra toiletries which was nice but I'd rather have clean sheets every few days and them actually clean the bathroom. Other than that, the Poly was beautiful, from the lobby to the beach and the pool. We do love staying there and will probaby stay there again next year. It was definately more crowded than I'm used to at the pool, parks & restaurants. My kids had a blast at the pool and it was hard to get DS3 out of it  We ate at 'Ohanas for dinner and the food & the service were both really good. We also ate there on our last day for breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey & Pluto and it was excellent. We are all in Disney depression (except DH) and can't wait for next year!

Great pics of you and your beautiful family! :thumbsup2 I especially love the pool pic. I think I liked the volcano pool more than the kids did when we went!

Sorry to hear about the lax mousekeeping.

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the mousekeeping though. Your pics are beautiful.

Thanks for the review and cute pictures.:goodvibes Your kids are adorable.

What is up with housekeeping lately?????  Seems to be a problem everywhere.

How is it that DHs always seem to escape that dreaded Disney depression??:rotfl: :confused3

Thanks for the review. We were there 9/29- 10/7. We were in the Hawaii building and I have to say we had the same mousekeeping issues. This was our first time at the Poly and I doubt we will be back. When we first walked into the room there was an overbearing sweet smell. I unpacked everything while my hubby took our kids to the pool (we loved the pool) then we all had lunch at Captain Cooks. By the time we got back to the room I realized the sweet smelll was covering for the musty smell that remained the rest of the trip. I was too lazy to ask for a room change because I did not want to pack and unpack all over again.

I don't think any surface in the room was ever wiped down. The dust was terrible. On our second day I was going to make a pot of coffee only to find a layer of dust all over the coffee maker. Somebody made a smiley face in the dust with their finger. My husband and children swear it was not them so I assume it was the previous guest. We tipped $5 a day for the first 4 days, we were overloaded with the H2O products but I would rather have a clean room. I was so disgusted that I stopped leaving a tip.

The last straw for my husband was when we were leaving. He called Bell Services at 11:00AM asking for somebody to pick up our luggage at 11:30AM. He was told they have a 5 minute turnaround time. They told him to call back at 11:25. He called at 11:20 and told them we were ready, at 11:50 after 4 more calls we still had no Bell Services. We were meeting outside of the lobby at 12 for Magical Express. Concierge wound up bringing us a cart and told my husband he could load it and bring it over to the lobby. They said Bell Services was very busy.Totaly unacceptable. We left there saying we would never stay in a Disney Resort again. Since then we spoke to my husbands sister who has talked us into trying the Yacht Club. I am hoping we have a better experience there.

I think we met last year in line for Norway Princess breakfast, I saw your LGMH and we spoke for a minute right?
Glad to see u were back in the world, we leave in 3 weeks for POP, whooooohoooo:woohoo:

I love the Volcano pool too and the slide , that is part of the reason we stay there. Thanks, you also had awesome pics of the Poly & your family from your last trip.

Thanks for the compliment, your girls are beautiful. Did you have housekeeping issues at the GF? We thought about possibly trying there next time. My DH likes Disney but doesn't love it like the rest of us, I guess that's why he isn't ready to go back a week after getting home  .

Sorry you didn't have a good stay :sad2: I would think they would step up the housekeeping in Concierge:confused3 . We had tons of dust on all surfaces and the coffee maker & Fridge were just disgusting:eek: . Sorry about your bellman issues, my DH ended up doing taking our bags to the car too. Hope you have a good stay at Yacht club. My friend always stays at Beach club now and she says she likes it better than Poly.

Hi Mouskamaddi  yes I met you last year. Have a good time on your trip in 3 weeks :yay: .

Great pics, gorgeous family, thanks for sharing!

Thanks! :)

We have only had super housekeeping at the GF. We have only stayed concierge there, though....we are staying GV for our upcoming Thanksgiving trip & I am expecting the same great level of service. If it's not, I will be calling the housekeeping manager. :rolleyes1 There are certain things that are just not acceptable. :sad2: And I am NOT a neat freak, but paying those rates, I have certain expectations....not huge, but reasonable.

Thanks again for the review.

Have a good time! Let us know how your housekeeping was when you get back from GF. I would most likely book GV or Lagoon view there.

Great pics and you have a beautiful family. We have never had anything but good luck with the Poly when we stay there. Sorry you had a bad experience with Mousekeeping.

Thanks. We had mediocre housekeeping last year but this year I don't think they really clean the rooms at all, at least our housekeeper didn't. Basically the beds were made (not too well I might add) and garbage emptied and toiletries restocked most days. The fridge was sticky & grose as well as the coffee pot. It was very dusty also. We would still stay there but I hope they get their act together with the housekeeping. All I want is a clean room :confused3 .

Thank you for the review. We will be checking in to Poly on Saturday.

I have a question for you, what was the breakfast like at OHana? The menu I saw only listed breads and eggs? Do they not have any pancakes or waffles?

Thanks!

Yes they have Mickey waffles and it's all you can eat at your table. They also bring a skillet which is refillable and it has eggs, sausage, and bacon. Also they have Biscuits, pinneapple bread and some other hawaiiian type bread. My DS3 will only eat waffles, he doesn't like eggs so it worked out fine. It will was a really fun but more relaxing character meal. We did it last year too. Have fun on your trip at the Poly :)

The poor housekeeping is very surprising, and disturbing. There is no excuse for a resort that charges the amount of money that the Poly does, to have anything less than stellar housekeeping and beautifully kept rooms.

OP, sorry if I missed it, but did you tell management at the Poly about the room? I know you got your room switched, but I'm wondering if management is aware of it. If not, you really should. If they're unaware of the issue, they can't (and won't) solve it.
