It has been a whirlwind quest trying to get the QS Dinning Plan pin code. There have been ups and downs but thanks to the Dis, I have persevered!
It started a month or so ago when reports of the code first hit the boards. I regularly receive pin codes, so I was bummed when I didn't find this one in my inbox. Of course I called Disney any way just to make sure. No luck. I proceeded to do some pin code voodoo, I saved a couple itineraries with my profile on disneyworld.com, I had my wife create a new profile under her newest email address, and I called back every couple of days to see if it would come up.
After 6 or 7 calls, I had all but given up. We had a room only discount already and the QSDP was in our budget, so it was no big deal. Then on Thursday, I got QSDP pin code in my email! I was ecstatic. I did this
and my wife and kids thought I was crazy. Immediately I called Disney Reservations. The agent walked me though the whole process of making a reservation, including putting me on hold to sort out my existing reservation. He quotes me a price ($300 additional savings!) and takes my credit card number. Then he says "Um, that's not right." The system won't give him a confirmation number. He puts me on hold again to get some help. After an eternity on hold (the whole phone call lasted 40 min), he tells me, that the all the values are book up for this pin code and there is no way he get it for me. 
So I did what all good Dis boarders do, I called back the next morning! Yesterday, I again had no luck, but thankfully the phone call was only 5 or 6 minutes. Having chased this code for more than a month, I was too close to give up now, so I resolved to call back every morning until our trip(April 22-30)
The quest continued this morning at the unheard of time (for a Saturday) of 7:00AM. The agent again walked me through ALL of the steps, even asking me what we were celebrating and if we need a pack-n-play. Then she says "I'm not showing any availability, but let me put you on hold and see what I can do." After five more minutes listening to the disney on-hold music (I think i have heard the whole thing by now
) and me preparing for for rejection once again, she comes back on and says "We got it!" I kept my fingers crossed all though giving her my credit card and she was right. The system gave her a confirmation number and we were set with the free QSDP. WOO HOO!
I plan to celebrate with a Dole Whip Float and a trip to Wolfgang Puck Express!
Because of the DIS board, I never gave up! You guys are great!
