dates--July 7-16
me, DH, DD#1 (10), DD#2 (7), DS(4)--last trip 12/01
my parents from July 8-12 --mom is 70, dad is 72, haven't been to WDW since 1988.
Our flight from Toledo to Orlando (stop in Cinci) was uneventful. Rabbit himself picked us up at the airport. Stopped at Publix. Our room at BWV was not ready, so we headed over to Epcot. Our goal was to ride TT, but it was down due to intermittent showers. So we did several things we had never done--JIYI with Figment being the first. Then we did Food Rocks!, and then Cranium Command and Body Wars. DH and the girls had done those but not me. I should have listened to my common sense and not done Body Wars because Star Tours about made me hurl--I was one step away at this one too, I had already headed into the "cold sweat" stage.
It was raining pretty good so we headed back to BWV. Our room was ready--3069/3071. I had asked for a room close to the elevator for my dad's back and we got the first one on the hallway! This was great for long days in the park, but the view sucked. This was our first 2BR DVC and they are really nice!
After we settled in we took the bus to MK and hopped on the monorail to Chef Mickey's, our traditional first night haunt. It was great as usual--I LOVE the shrimp and roast beef--but DS got in a "mood" and was really grumpy with the characters. I have a great picture of him practically crying in Chip's arms! I think it's time to give Chef Mickey a "break" next year perhaps.
We walked over to MK and did a little shopping and checked out Spectromagic--I don't think we rode anything! I liked it enough but I think I liked MSEP better. After that we decided to go back to BWV and hit MK later in the week for more rides, etc.
