Just thought I would make a mention of something I recently found and am now obsessed with...
WoodWick candles.
What makes these special is that the wick is made of (yep, you guessed it) wood.
They burn evenly and from my experience with them, last about twice as long as regular candles.
The wood makes a popping sound while it burns, which is supposed to emulate a "crackling fire," but that's really secondary as to why I love them so much.
I have strong allergies and am very sensitive to smells. I cannot spend more than five minutes in Yankee Candle or Bath and Body Works without getting a massive headache.
The WoodWick candles have very natural scents, and don't smell nearly as artificial as other scented candle brands. So far I've tried Applewood and Redwood, and prefer the Redwood. It has an outdoorsy, but very calming scent.
I've only seen them sold at a small local garden shop, but you can order online at woodwick.com. They come in a variety of sizes, as well as pillars for your own candle holders.
