UPDATE AS OF MONDAY : My nephew's surgery has been scheduled for Thursday. My Gma's visitation is Thursday and funeral Friday. My 13 month old nephew is being picked up by his mommy today.

I'm very close to a anxiety attack right now. I'm still at my sister's figuring out our next plan. My 2 kids and niece are being really hyper and making me even more anxious. We will probably get going back to Illinois soon. I just need to get home and regroup. My sister is singing music from RENT and my mom keeps bringing pictures of Gma to show me for her photo collage.

Calgon, take me away.

I'm hoping to get home in time to see my baby nephew, and hopefully talk to the mommy about he plans.

I am so sorry for all the curve balls life is throwing twords you and your family right now. I know your nephew will be just fine, just look at me, I turned out ok and so will he. An Astrocytoma my mom said is the best tumor there is (not that a tumor is good) but a nurse told my mom when I was having my tumor removed that if were gonna have a tumor let it be an Astrocytoma because its very easily to get rid of and rarely ever comes back and its never cancerous.

Hey Dis family ~ My Nephew's surgery is tomorrow morning. And my Gma's visitation is tomorrow afternoon. Please keep those prayers coming!

Surgery is supposed to take anywhere from 8 to 14 hours. My poor inlaws are going to just be a wreck that whole time. My BIL asked the nurse if she could put him under at the same time as his son, she laughed, but he wasn't kidding! I would definitley need to be sedated if this was my DS.

My heart goes out to any family out there that has gone thru something like this!

I will be with my family all day. My DH & I can't even be together for either of these things. I am a little worried about how I'm going to keep my kids at the funeral home for 7 hours w/o their dad there to help. Thankfully I have amazingly well behaved children. And there is a small room in back that they can go to escape once in a while.

I will have to keep my cellphone on me the whole visitation waiting for a call from my DH that surgery is over.

I'm a little frustrated right now because all this stress is making DH & I a little crabby. He came home from work and picked a fight over something really stupid. We should be there for each other, not bickering! He went to bed at about 7:00, w/o really talking to me much at all. Hopefully this weekend we can reconnect and remember that we're on the same side.

Anyway, thanks again for listening, and the prayers I know you're sending our way. I will update ya'll as soon as possible.

Sandcass, definitely you have your hands full. Best wishes to all of you. Just a thought - even the best of kids have "bad days" - do you have a friend that could come and get them from the funeral home if needed? Seven hours is a really long time to be at a funeral home for kids.
