My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

Jill, wonderful news about Carter! One of life hardest things to do is see a loved one (much less your child) being taken into a scary operating room.

MeMom I'm sure bad weather is headed your way it started sleeting here about 11:00 today then turned to snow and is still coming down. You may get a long weekend out of it.
But, in just a few weeks you will be in sunny Florida with your wonderful girls visiting your wonderful son and Mickey. :cool1: Remember no sticky fingers this time. lol

By the way if anyone needs any painting done just let me know. My 21 month old grandson Ty got hold of a paintbrush that I had thrown in the trash. (We have been repainting our bedroom and bathroom) Well in just a matter of a few minutes he painted my loveseat, coffee table, a cookbook and a basket and the floor white. He works fast! lol

Update on Carter:

Prayers truly work. His parents had been told not to hold out hope for this procedure because he had multiple holes in his heart. I just talked to his mom and she said he is out of surgery and in recovery right now. He did amazing!! And the best news is the surgeons were able to fix all the holes and he now has perfect bloodflow! Thank you to everyone for your prayers.

Great great news!!!:thumbsup2

You'd think 'Number your paper 1-10' would be easy, but for some, it's advanced course stuff. Sometimes I feel like I am on a hidden camera show when I say "Page 334" ten times and a student is asking what page we're on when I'm already on problem 4. So many of our kids just do not think. They don't listen. They don't comprehend. They're out in LaLa Land, wherever that is.

It sounds like our school populations are a lot different. All our students are gifted, at least that's what their parents say :rolleyes1 Seriously, I love working in a school but I would NEVER be a teacher. I just don't have the patience for it! I admire people who do! Me and my computer get along just fine ;)

That's wonderful news about Carter! Will pray for his continued recovery.

Wonderful news about Carter!

How funny that little Bella "stole" the potato head:rotfl2: She caught on quick to her Memom's little mistake.:lmao:

First of all - thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers for Carter. Jill said she told his mom that she had Disney friends all over the world thinking about him, and his mom was surprised that so many people cared about and were praying for her little guy through all of this.

Brooklynn said tonight that Carter had to go to the doctor because his heart was broken, and Jill was happy to tell her that the doctors have fixed him all up. :goodvibes

Yes, the Terrible Twos should be fun I remember the day he was born. I got the phone call right before I had to go take my American Lit exam He was born 3 hours before Obama's inauguration.

I'm getting very excitedI think I'm driving my mom nuts :rotfl: I keep doing the "5 weeks from right now" thing. 5 weeks from right now, we'll be getting ready to go eat Breakfast at Kona. That definitely beats the store bought blueberry muffin I just ate

It really is fascinating! We always go on it several times every trip because you notice something different every time.

Now I have to drag myself off the couch, out of my comfy sweatpants, and go take my algebra exam. We have exams today, tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday. I only have two this year. I'm exempt from the rest either because of my grade in the class or test scores. I can come home at 11:00 today Well, a little later because I have to finish up a graphic design project. Still, I'll be home early. Tomorrow I have a physics exam from 12 to 2. Then I have a 4 day weekend

Yay for Kona breakfast! :cool1:

With all of these snow days, I have sure gotten a lot of use out of my comfy house clothes lately!

Good luck on those exams!

Thoughts and Prayers for Carter and his family in his recovery. Also a prayer for all his friends that are too young to understand.

I loved the video of Lily and still counting the days until I can see her in person. Plus the Small world meet, and Disney shopping, and hopefully by then a new little great-nephew to buy disney for.

MeMom I thought of you last weekend. A cousin gave me a snow globe with pooh and friends as a late Christmas present .

A snow globe! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! :scared1:

I was so excited today to find out that the video of Lilly played on my school computer, so I showed it to my students. They block a lot of things at school, even things that you wouldn't think about or or not harmful at all, so I was glad that it played.

As I told you on FB, it started right before school was out. It's a mess now.

So did the adults in your house learn any lessons from your little boy today? :rolleyes1 Put those paintbrushes away a little better next time! ;)

Maybe I will stand outside the stores while Jill shops.
And I probably should keep Bella with me. :upsidedow

We're at the opposite end of the spectrum. We have the rare few that do that well.

So many parents leave field trips that they have helped chaperone saying they would never be a teacher, too!

I guess it shows that the kids are always watching.

Always watching.....

Maybe it should be mandatory for all politicians to chaperone a field trip. Perhaps it would give them a better appreciation!

So happy to see good news on Carter. I really do believe that our collective positive thoughts make a difference. Isn't the DIS just the coolest place ever? :)

Great news about Carter.

Sticky fingers MeMom and Bella. Kinda like Bonnie and Clyde. :rotfl2:

We are next on this weather system but the forecast says little to no snow and it should be above freezing. Wouldn't that make it rain? Be the forecast is not for rain but snow? Oh well, I will wake and see tomorrow. :rotfl:

So happy Carter is doing well!

Too funny that you and Bella both had sticky fingers. Totally genetic. ;) :rotfl: I agree with everyone else who said that you guys give them enough money that those couple little things can't hurt!

Did I see on Facebook that you guys are getting more snow? We are, too -- we had snow, then rain, freezing rain and sleet on Tuesday, and we're getting snow again tomorrow. I don't think it's supposed to be too much, but they keep changing it and each station is saying something different, so it's really hard to tell just how much we are going to get. A bunch of schools around my city have already been called (some were called early in the evening), but our city hasn't been called yet. Typical.

How often I have said that 'they' (which could mean anyone in the higher ranks who makes decisions about schools) should come and spend real time in a classroom. Not just come during Read Me Week to read a story and hand out Dum Dums. Teach a lesson. Line them up for lunch. Referee an argument that is being held over from P.E. Give out supplies constantly to a kid whose parent doesn't think it is important enough that they have a simple pencil and paper, yet every time they come in to question something that happens, they have their finery and their fancy nails and tatoos and such. Button the pants, or try to, of a kid wearing clothing two sizes too small. Tie shoes tighter of another who is wearing his big brother's shoes. Give some quailty time to a child who is serious need of it because she goes straight from school to her mom's restaurant and stays there until ten o'clock every night. Watch kids get that glassy look in their eyes when you tell them it's time for another test. Fill out 587 questions on three different forms on a troubled student. Really it's just about twenty questions worded a million different ways. I could go on.

Some pretty awesome people hang out here.

Sticky fingers, huh? Maybe I'm just bringing out my inner tree frog.

No ifs here on our weather. All is calm and all is white.
And all is cold. :cold:

I have watched the Weather Channel off and on throughout all of this snow, and I am just amazed at what I have seen in the north. Every time they say a city that is home to a DIS friend, I stop to watch the report. I don't know how you guys handle it. I know you just do what you have to do, though, as with anything. I guess you don't get the heat we do in the summer as your reward, but luckily I can handle the heat better than the cold.

I looked, but I didn't buy.

SSRStayOct2010374.jpg

I have picked these things up so many times and put them back down.
Especially the measuring cups that are like those spoons.

SSRStayOct2010375.jpg

SSRStayOct2010376.jpg

SSRStayOct2010377.jpg

I decided I really liked this little can.

SSRStayOct2010378.jpg

SSRStayOct2010379.jpg

We still had to get back to SSR.

SSRStayOct2010381.jpg

We got a bus to DTD and then walked over.

SSRStayOct2010382.jpg

SSRStayOct2010383.jpg

And that was the end of that day.

But then, there was a new day. :thumbsup2

Where are we going today, girls?

SSRStayOct2010384.jpg

To the bus stop, of course.

SSRStayOct2010385.jpg

Look out the window and you will see.

SSRStayOct2010386.jpg

This is a nice place.

SSRStayOct2010387.jpg

We were right up at the rope to greet our Disney pals.

SSRStayOct2010388.jpg

SSRStayOct2010389.jpg

SSRStayOct2010390.jpg

Look at the little boy's face. He is thrilled!

Let's go spend some quality time with our friends.

First, Mickey, where Bella did a decent job of visiting.

SSRStayOct2010397.jpg

SSRStayOct2010398.jpg

I love Brooklynn's hair like this!

SSRStayOct2010399.jpg

SSRStayOct2010400.jpg

Pluto.

SSRStayOct2010401.jpg

SSRStayOct2010402.jpg

Jill had to join in this time.

SSRStayOct2010403.jpg

Donald was playing Peek-a-Boo with a CM cleaning windows.

SSRStayOct2010404.jpg

Minnie and Brooklynn.

SSRStayOct2010405.jpg

Bella is interested in what Donald is up to.

SSRStayOct2010406.jpg

Until he tries to get her to play, too.

SSRStayOct2010407.jpg

SSRStayOct2010408.jpg

Brooklynn offered Bella her hand.

SSRStayOct2010410.jpg

Success!

SSRStayOct2010411.jpg

It's time for Gyewf. (Bella's name for him.)

SSRStayOct2010412.jpg

SSRStayOct2010413.jpg

The hand-holding deal works again! :woohoo:

SSRStayOct2010414.jpg

There was even a 'lean in' for a hug! :dance3:

SSRStayOct2010415.jpg

And that was it for character time.
The hand-holding discovery made Jill very happy.
Now she does not have to get in all the character pictures.
Thanks, big sister! :lovestruc

Trying to catch up...can't even catch my breath during the week! Home with Brook today....sick again...poor thing.
Anyways, I am still chuckling over the the potato head parts..lol! :rotfl2: It just reminds me of the ages when my children couldn't leave the house without having something in each hand. So cute.

What a great time at Epcot so far! I've never been right at the rope like that..cool. I am always a layer or two back. The meet and greet was so cute! Cracking up over Donald and all of Bella's reactions! Brooklynn is so cute with her little sister! :cutie: I love her hair pulled back like that too!

First, what great news for Carter! Prayer does indeed work. :)

What awesome character pictures!! So cool!! I'm
glad they've figured out a way to get Bella in there. :)

Wow! You took some fantastic shots of the characters this morning! :thumbsup2 *Almost* makes me think about rope drop... almost. If only it weren't so early. :upsidedow

That's awesome that Brooklynn figured out a way to get Bella in the pictures! I also love Brooklynn's haircut, it looks adorable. The matching outfits are super cute, too!

We didn't end up getting that much this time -- maybe five or six inches, but it was the light, fluffy stuff, and now the sun is out! It gets humid up here in the summer, but nowhere near as hot as it gets for you guys. My friend went to Alabama to visit a friend over the summer a couple of years ago and she said it was awful. I'll just take her word for it, since I am the opposite of you and have a much harder time handling the heat.
