Dear TinkerPixie -

I'm very sorry to hear this. Please do not give up hope. I heard those same words from doctors Nov. 8, 1999 about my mother as well. She had a mild one on the 3rd, then the clot shot to her central speech compartment. She wouldn't respond for about a day and was off and on a vent for 10 days which they said was too long, it was agonizing.

She is alive and doing well, but has suffered severe speech deficits. She's aphasic and has apraxia. She used to call my DD "Pixie", but she hasn't said that name since that awful day...we miss hearing her say it..
