Click your volume control icon select options then properties make sure mic is on in both playback and record sections. check or uncheck mic 2 bubble. Make sure mic is not muted in record mode. those are just some common problems . hope that helps
Also check that it's in the right slot, also that it's in the slot as much as it can go. If you're testing it with a program check that the program isn't messed up and that the volume/sound controls and mic on or off are set right. (If you're trying it out with like a audio conversation with MSN Messenger then you need to set the mic up everytime you change the mic)
Ok.. Even though i think audacity has caused my problem in the first place, I think i can work around amplifying later any finished recordings i have.. but now?
HOW DO I GET MY MIC TO STOP GOING TO THE SPEAKERS?!?!
