My ** Memories of Ma **Pre-Trip Report

I'm in south Louisiana so it's about a 10-11 hour drive depending on stops and traffic. My friends think I'm crazy for not flying since I'm going solo but I love long road trips, except getting stuck in traffic. I did the dining plan back in 2008 when I took my nephew and it's just way too much food for me. I really don't need to be eating that much food and I didn't want to have my meals determine what I did each day. I did jump on that Chef Mickey's reservation at the 180 day mark because I knew that would book up fast. I think that will be my day off from the parks since I'll be moving from Contemporary to Pop that day. 23 days to go

I have work this morning. Happy daylight savings time! One extra hour of sleep and I didn't even notice!

Today is the Candle lighting ceremony for my mom
I know it is going to be an emotional afternoon


I will definitely put up a post about it.

I love food too but food loves me back too much!!

I've got a theme park view for 2 nights with the room only discount. It's one place I've always wanted to stay since my first trip to Disney. And I really wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge too but couldn't get the discount for my other 4 nights. Since regular rates would be be WAY over my budget I decided to go back to POP. I really liked staying there last year. WL will be there for another trip.

Hope you had a great time at the ceremony. Can't wait to hear how it went.

Oh my goodness! you will have a wonderful view!!!!! my mom and I always wanted to stay at the Contemporary!!! i love their gift shops california grill is phenomenal! a very classy resort!! I stayed at WL when I was really, really little and it was way cool. I liked visiting it during my last trip with my ma. I stayed at POP in Jan/Feb this year and really liked. I just wish I was going to a 'new' resort, like one I haven't been to. But, I am going to a ton of new restaurants, so it balances out
and food loves me back too! in all of the wrong places!!!

This afternoon was the candle lighting ceremony for the loved ones
that have passed this year at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale.
It was a very intimate ceremony. There were about ten people who were
honored.
I immediately started crying when I walked in. So many emotions poured out of me. There were a few other people who came alone, and the staff did a great job at placing us together for support. I went a few wonderful people who shared their stories of their loved ones and how they continue their legacy.
Everyone was so excited to hear that I was going to Disney World in three weeks. The picture I brought (and put on her prayer cards) is one of her in the Crystal Palace from our last trip.
When I was called to light the candle for my mom, it took a few tries. I think my mom was blowing out her own candle, silly lady
But all in all, I am very thankful that they held that ceremony.
What another woman & I talked about is how neither of us felt that we "grieved" when we were "supposed" to.
During the weeks that followed my mom's passing I didn't have a chance to stop and just absorb all of the emotions coming through me. I felt today was a very appropriate and respectful way to show my love and grief that I feel without my mom. All of the staff noticed and were very sweet to me. My mom was the youngest being honored who had passed. A lot of the people were surprised someone so young (me) was alone.
I know many of my mom's friends & my aunts would have came, but I felt that my dad & I were the appropriate ones and my dad declined his invite. He grieves differently, and I have come to terms with that.
I know he loves and misses her deeply in his own ways.

That is so nice the hospital had a ceremony like that. It is nice that you had some support from people who went through it as well. I bet that was your mom teasing you and blowing out the candle...haha You are right about everyone grieves differently. I am glad you were able to let out your emotions and feelings there.

It was very nice, especially since I removed myself completely from the hospital after she passed away. It took me nearly six months and even then I instantly broke down. thank you

19 days! what what!

I just finished my final paper for my Media class. I researched Viacom. I stayed away from Disney because I think that could have gotten out of hand hahha

I also took my time trial for jogging
I did my 1.5 mile in 15:10 !!!!!!!
eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

so now all I have left to do is my plagiarism research paper & my two finals


I just a preview of the new Muppets movie and I cannot wait to see it!!!

it comes out the Wednesday before my trip! what a better way to get in the mood?!

I can't believe 19 days! It doesn't even seem real!!

I actually just got off the phone with Disney. I was talking with a friend at work and had a mini panic attack. This is my first time doing a room only reservation and wasn't sure if I would be getting any type of travel docs. Actually, I did get a photopass card in the mail this past weekend but nothing about my room ressies. I wasn't sure if I just needed to print a copy of emails to get thru the gates to show I was a resort guest. Last thing I would want to for them to try and charge me to park at MK. And I've been reading as many trip reports about the Contemporary I decided to put in a room request just to see if I could get a room on the north end and a high floor. I'm paying for the theme park view and that's all I'm really concerned about so if they were to meet my requests that'll be cool. When the lady asked if there was anything she could help me with I said no and that I hope the next time I have to talk to someone I will be on property!!

19 more days. Right now I'm getting really excited to do on-line check in.

woop woop for being in the teens! How exciting!!!!! It went by fast for my count down up untill these past couple days...now it's just draggggggging. I'm leaving this Saturday and I'm down there till the following Saturday. Can't wait to check out MVMCP and the decorations!!!

Thank you so much It was very therapuetic. I seldom cry to that extent, so it was good to have a validation to cry. I know, I know I should not feel guilty for crying but sometimes I do. weird, I know

I have two more days of classes & then finals!
ahhhhhhh!

so I have some news!
Last night I went to dinner with my girlfriend who went to WDW
in January with me for her first trip ever, and she suggested joining me for two days!
Now, I don't know how I really feel because it would change EVERYTHING
and I love the DxDP and she does not haha
she has a very selective taste *when we went to coral reef she had a salad and dipped each individual piece of lettuce in the salad dressing and then went on about how she wanted portillos. I love her, but *

so Monday she will let me know if she can afford the plane tickets
we will see what happens!

I finally thought I had it figured out and something changes
