I have read lots of bad reviews of Alamo and I just wanted to add a positive review. We booked a full size for 7 days using the Family Fun code (get a certificate for a free children's Character breakfast) and a Sam's club $15 off coupon. The total cost including tax was $137.XX.

We arrived at the Alamo counter at 5:45 pm on Sunday May 25th. Alamo counter had a line, but no other counters did. No big deal to me, since the next cheapest rate I could get was with National for $167.XX. I figured 15 minutes of my time for a savings of $30 was just fine. We get to the head of the line. There were no pressure sales just asked us if we wanted the extras, we said no and that was it. We got our certificate after asking for it though but she was very courteous about it. Only took 5 minutes to check in.

After a short walk we got to the full size aisle. There weren't many cars left, just a few of the Buick Century, a Monte Carlo, and a smaller car. I was worried that we wouldn't fit in a full size with 3 adults and two children in car seats plus all of our luggage. Well to my surprise the Buick Century was perfect. My mom sat in the back with the 2 car seats and her shoulder didn't even touch the car seat. There is even a bench seat with a 3rd seatbelt in the front. The trunk was huge and fit 3 carry-on luggage, 2 medium size luggage, 1 large piece of luggage, and 1 Peg Perego Pliko Matic stroller.

The car had 8000 miles and drove great. It was so quiet and smooth. Returning it was only a 3 minute process and super easy. Gas for the week cost us only $15 dollars.

Well for anyone who is nervous about Alamo, don't be. The wait was minimal, the service was great, and car very comfy and roomy. Well worth the cost!!

Wow, that was a good price and glad to hear Alamo was a good experience.

I like the buick centruy, too. We rented one two summers ago from Natl. and it was great.

So glad to hear that!!! We are using Alamo for a full size the week after next. We just couldn't pass up the price. I have a Quicksilver card, anybody out there used QS at MCO? The ressie says they don't have kiosks at MCO but a separate QS desk. I hope it is quick!!

When I was there last month, the size signs in the garage said Alamo/National. I had a National reservation, I got a Camry out of the full size Alamo/National row, which was located where the National cars were previously. Did you get your car out of a separate Alamo row or are they now sharing cars with National? I've heard they are separate, but I couldn't figure out which were National and which were Alamo when the signs said Alamo/National. The hangtags on the mirror also say Alamo/National. I noticed on return that they had separate return rows marked for Alamo & National, but National was blocked off so I went in Alamo and the attendant asked which I had my reservation with. I think eventually they will merge under one name, it isn't economical to work with separate reservation systems.

I did book online about 4 weeks before. I used the codes from mousesavers.com, however I did go to the library and copy the page from Family Fun just in case, and I did need to show it to get my certificate.

Use Rate Code 9M and Assoc. ID 803292 and get 20% off your Alamo rental, plus a certificate for a free child's character breakfast. You get a Walt Disney World meal voucher when renting at Orlando (MCO) or a Disneyland meal voucher when renting at Los Angeles (LAX). Discount offer good through 6/30/03; voucher valid through 12/31/03. Source: April issue of FamilyFun magazine

I also used a $15 off code from Sams Club for a weekly rental. Try the codes everyday since, I rarely got the same rate everyday I tried it. It was on day 4 that I received that rate.

I hope this helps.

Also to another poster. I did see a Camry in full size when we returned. I don't remember if the signs said alamo/national or just alamo. I do remember not having any doubts that we were picking from the right aisle.
