My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

We will be after you if you stop working out!!!!!:mad: :headache::headache: ;)

Sorry you are canceling the CA trip. I think your idea of a cabin for a few days sounds awesome!!!

We need pics of your worms!!!! :lmao:

OK dog names.... Hook, Figment, Pete(r), Fido, Sparky, Pluto, Bernie

In Oregon we never had to worry about worms or composting, it just did it all naturally all on its own. My kids LOVED playing with them, and had a ball digging them up. Whatever.

That puppy is the cutest thing I've ever seen. What a sweet thing!

Names? I suck at names. Frisky? Scamper? The #1 dog names over here are: Taimas (pronounced Tie-Moss) or Ak Taban. But those would sound weird in the US.

Well, I'm sort of girly-girly in the aspect of worms and such things, so as far as the worms go .... :sad2:.......................

BUT, the puppy is adorable! How could you not fall in love with him? :lovestruc My neighbor's girlfriend had the same dog and his name was Baxter. :)

We really like the name Baxter! My only issue is that it might be a popular dog name? :confused3

The new puppy is adorable! Congratulations!!!

Thanks!

The puppy is just precious! :lovestruc

Isn't he?

First, congradulations with finishing the program.

What an adorable dog. I just read a great book, and the dog in the book was much loved and they called him "Lump" or Lumpy. Dumb name, but if fit the dog in the book.

Thanks Marisa!

Gettin' on today, Boss!

We need pics of your worms!!!! :lmao:

I plan on writing a blog post about them and how to create a bin. I think I might lose some readers if I post pictures of worms here. :rolleyes1

These worms don't live in the soil. In fact, if you put them in your garden, they'll die. I've read that you can find them in manure. :rolleyes1 I also think I failed to mention that this bin will be kept indoors. Vermicomposting is very popular with people who live in apartments and don't have the room for outdoor composting.

So, help me out here, Carissa.... did you explain why you're doing this? I think I need to go back and re-read the original post again. Are you planning on using the compost for a garden?? :confused3

I'm doing it for environmental reasons mainly. It's a way to reuse food waste and paper instead of throwing it away. I will use the worm castings for my plants (don't have room for a garden, but I've started some container gardening this year). And I'm doing it for educational reasons for the boys.

AHhh, ok, gotcha!! :thumbsup2 I love to see hands-on homeschooling! and container gardening is great!!! Makes me want to call about my Seeds tour! :goodvibes

Officialy, for vet purposes, our cat's name is Tux, because he is a tuxedo cat. (Don't know if that's the real name of that kind, but you know what I mean - black with the white V on his neck.) We have never called him that. We always call him Cat or Buddy. I hope you do better at names than we do. :upsidedow

1000 worms and a dog is going to be interesting.
Not as interesting as 1000 dogs and a worm......

You are such a good mom, Carissa. I hope your Mother's Day coming up will be very special, because you deserve to be honored. :)

What a cute little puppy! Can't wait to find out the final verdict on the name. And it will be interesting to hear how the composting works for you. Good luck!

The worms arrived yesterday! :cool1:

That's funny because I have this feeling our little guy is going to end up being called Puppy. :rotfl: Thanks MeMom. :goodvibes

Thanks Jenny! So far the composting is easy. Haven't really thought about the bin since I added the worms yesterday. :thumbsup2

Your puppy is SO cute!
I'm a little disappointed that you didn't post pics of the worms, too. That seems like discrimination! :lmao:

Amanda

This calls for a big celebration.....

I think...:rotfl2:

:rotfl:

paw: A name for the puppy??

Naturally, I'm going to suggest MICKEY!! ::MickeyMo

Kathy

I had thought of Mickey, but I think it will need to be revisited. :thumbsup2

Well, when I posted pictures of the puppy, we didn't have the worms yet. I'll be sure to post a picture soon. ;)

We have a 'Puppy'. DDs stuffed animal puppy. Puppy goes everywhere with her and is her favorite!

WE NEED THE PICS OF THE WORMS!!! (all 1000 of them please! ;)) :lmao:

As long as the puppy doesn't get the worms, it'll all be ok!! :thumbsup2

Definitely!

At the moment, we're pretty sure we're going with Mickey.

Coming up. :thumbsup2

Yes, individually. And names for each one too. It's only fair.

Before the worms arrived, the boys started coming up with names for them. I don't think they realized exactly how many would be coming! :rolleyes1

** Warning to my more squeamish readers: You might want to skip this first picture.**

I am going to post a picture of my worms. This picture was taken right after I added them to my bin and they were still all bunched up together. I haven't peaked in the bin since I added them so not sure what they look like now.

It's been a month since I posted a picture of my weight loss progress. I don't think there's a big difference (if any) in my recent picture, but I am wearing a completely different pair of jeans. The pair in my previous pictures is now much too big for me. This current pair I haven't been able to fit into for a while now.

You'll all be glad to know that I ran on the treadmill twice so far this week and will run tomorrow. No punishments necessary. :thumbsup2

And my stepmother (Memere) posted an "older" picture of our family on Facebook that was taken in October of 2008 when they were visiting and we took a trip into D.C. to Union Station. I hadn't seen the picture before so it was neat to see how much the boys have changed (and how much taller Sully has gotten).

We recently made a "Countdown to Daddy's Homecoming" chain now that we have a better idea of when Chuck is coming home. Here it is with the boys:

And lastly, for this hodgepodge update, here is our current itinerary for the half-marathon trip:

~ Half-Marathon Girls Getaway Trip! ~

Friday - Arrive, check-in at Pop, head to the Expo to get packet, spend as much time at Epcot as possible. Dinner at Chefs de France.

Saturday - EARLY start. Half-marathon, back to room to change/shower/rest, lunch?? Magic Kingdom and dinner at The Plaza.

Sunday - Depends on what time my flight leaves.

Just a very basic plan right now. I don't know that there will ever be too many more details than what's there since it's such a short trip and I think we'll probably just wing a lot of it depending on how we feel.
