My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

I prefer TS meals because I can sit and relax and be waited on. This trip is all about doing things that we wouldn't do if the boys were with us and getting to enjoy as many good meals as we can will be high on our list.

We're doing the parks, but in a very relaxed way with very few items on our to do list. :thumbsup2 There will be no rope drop this trip. ;)

I don't have much opinion on a resort choice or any special restaurant. I just think the trip is going to be much needed and much deserved and that you are going to have a fantastic time wherever you stay and whatever you eat. Have fun with the planning!

Weird. I thought I had commented on this morning (my time), but can't find it. I really think you'll enjoy a deluxe resort since it's a shorter trip AND you'll be spending a litte more time there- given you have the race, and will want a nice(r) place to come back to for rest.

You're going to have a whole different dynamic going since the boys won't be there- so take advantage of it.

I think you're right, you won't be up for much walking after the race- so Cirque is a great option! :thumbsup2

I have to admit, if there was a 1.5TS a day plan...I'd do it in a heartbeat! Something in between the regular plan and deluxe....problem is the best value is dinner, you can lose money on bfast.

I also need to find out the current prices. The book I was looking in is from 2008 so I'm sure it has changed.

The code I got today was good until December. They probably won't send codes out for Jan/Feb until the summertime but it is good to know that you are in the system so hopefully you will get a code in a few months time that will be good for your dates. :thumbsup2

I will definitely be keeping an eye out. I'm also going to do what a few others suggested and start to book the trip, but not hit the final submit button and see what happens.

Ooooh thats the look I'm aiming for-definitely:worship:

:thumbsup2

Hi, Carissa! I am here, subscribed, and ready to catch up!!! :woohoo:

:welcome: Jackie! Glad you made it over. :goodvibes

Thanks! I agree. :goodvibes

As long as I can get some kind of code! Fingers crossed something comes through (or they extend the military salute). :thumbsup2

I'm going to keep this one short. And just a reminder that I'm only doing these journal entries for each day of the program (9 weeks total so only 4 more to get through). After that I will still continue to journal about my training, but not so often.

I wasn't feeling very well last night and into this morning. I didn't want to get on the treadmill, but I never give myself that option (unless I have a migraine or I'm really sick - which hasn't happened yet). Today was run for 5 minutes, walk for 3, run for 8, walk for 5, run for 5. The first 5 minute run was kind of tough as I just felt very tired and blah. But, once I warmed up, the rest of the runs went well and I actually feel better now than before I started. What a crazy concept! ;)

Oh - I don't have my official distance because as I was doing the cool down walk, I used my shirt to wipe the sweat dripping off of my face and accidentally pulled the safety strap out of the treadmill. For those who have never used a treadmill, that means the treadmill instantly stops. :sad2: And I lost all of my info from that workout. I'm guessing I did at least 2 miles since the total time was longer than normal.

“We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves."

~ Lynn Hall

My totals for today:

Speed: 3.5 for warm up, 4.0 for jogs/3.3 - 3.5 brisk walks/ 3.5 cool down
Duration: 36 minutes
Distance: 2 miles ??

I would try for the Poly if you can get a deal. It would be so nice for you to be on the Monorail for race morning. The WL would be wonderful too.

You know that my first Half trip this January was a splurge trip for me....so I would splurge if I were you! :) If Chuck is cool with the deluxe plan, then I would go for it. You would so enjoy it I think! IMO you should make this a really great trip for the two of you. :goodvibes

I will be so disappointed if it ends up he can't go. :( I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's hard to plan a trip and NOT get my hopes up. I know I will enjoy it even if I end up going alone - it would just be a very different experience.

The funny thing is, I love the look of the rooms at CSR over both the Poly and WL. I have lots more looking to do.

Yep, it's an awesome thing!! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Aww, Carissa, I have done that with the treadmill. Makes me so mad. Get my w/o all done, excited to double check what I did and then BANG, by mistake I hit the safety and lose all my info. :headache:

As far as WDW, I have not been there since 2006. I feel like I have lost total idea of what the place even looks like any more. :sad1: On the flip side, I am at Disneyland ALLOT, so that makes up for it. :teeth:

Now as far as resorts, like you, I have never had any interest in the GF. Yes, we have walked through it many times but it is just not us. We have stayed many times in the WL and just absolutely LOVE IT. We did stay at AKL once as well and loved the views of the animals from our balcony but I just really love all that the WL is. Never stayed at the Poly or CSR, so I cannot comment on those resorts.

:cheer2: :cheer2: WEEK 6 :cheer2: :cheer2:

oooh being on the monorail for race day is a really good point. I would factor that in!

My 2 cents- I know it is not a Deluxe but I love Port Orleans there is something SOOOO relaxing to me about it!!!! But on race day being on the monorail might be a GREAT thing!! If I had to pick a Deluxe ok twist my arm- WL would be it- So as you can tell I have been no help :lmao:

Well, I'm now properly caught up. Congrats on your progress with your workouts. That's awesome! I know you'll do geat in the 1/2. Looking forward to heaing how it all turns out.

I feel like that every time getting on a treadmill looms in my future. And I don't even have to feel tired or blah.

I have to say that right now WL is high on our list - like number 1. :thumbsup2 I just talked to Chuck on the phone (he calls once a week for about 20 - 30 minutes) and he said we should do it even if we don't get a code or discount. I think my husband is trying to spoil me. :rolleyes1

Jenny had already mentioned that back at the start of this PTR and it would make things very convenient, but the more I research the Poly, the less I want to stay there.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside on our last trip and absolutely loved it. The only reason we aren't choosing to stay there again is because I want to try out other resorts and with having 3 children, our options are more limited when we have the kids with us.

Well, I'm now properly caught up. Congrats on your progress with your workouts. That's awesome! I know you'll do geat in the 1/2. Looking forward to heaing how it all turns out.

Thanks! I'm feeling pretty confident about it all right now. We'll see how I feel when the real serious training begins.

I feel like that every time getting on a treadmill looms in my future. And I don't even have to feel tired or blah.

I don't mind the treadmill that much. I think between being so glad that I have a way to workout with Chuck gone and being self-conscious of others watching me run, the treadmill is okay for me. :thumbsup2

:banana:Yay for your husband wanting to spoil you-I say go for it- you only live once

I think he looks at it as an investment in our marriage and I agree. We'll also be paying off the last of our credit card debt in a couple of months so that's cause for celebration! :cool1:

Wilderness Lodge is a good choice Carissa :cool1:

We have stayed there twice and enjoyed it both times....

One hint...
Do Not get the Breakfast pizza at Roaring Forks....just sayin....

:wave2: Carissa, I am thinking that the words "breakfast" and "pizza" should NOT be in the same sentence ... :confused3

:wave2: Goof

I will say as far as restaurants in WL, "Artist Point" is lovely. "Whispering Canyon" is a restaurant to take the kiddos to, very good food, but loud. And as far as I am concerned, "Roaring Forks" was way overpriced.

I'm just wondering if he thought it tasted bad or he got sick. If he got sick, chances are it was a fluke thing. But, Roaring Forks is counter service, right? So, we probably wouldn't be eating there anyway.

We've eaten at WCC twice and love it. But, it's always been for dinner. We'll definitely have breakfast there once or twice since it's so convenient. Definitely planning on trying out Artist Point. :thumbsup2
