My keys are missing

My DH works in a parts dept in a dealership for one of the "big 3" automakers. He warned me this week to NOT leave my car keys on the roof of the car, or on the hood when loading/unloading groceries, etc - he had 2 cases this week of people having to get new keys because a crow had swooped down and grabbed the shiny keys and flew off...and he's dead serious!!

In our case, I hid our car keys when we went to WDW last year so if someone broke into our house, they wouldn't find them and take the car....they're really safe and hidden well - we have looked, and looked....:lmao:

I once put mine in the veggie crisper in the fridge - found them a couple of days after grocery shopping (thank heavens for spares)....:confused3

I have misplaced mine a couple of times - they were just under the edge of the bed - had fallen out of my purse or out of my jeans pocket when I was changing...

Hope you find them soon.

It is a family joke that I can not keep up with my keys.

I have found them put away in the freezer with the ice cream I purchased on the way home, in the pocket of a skirt I wore and had put away, dropped inside a grocery bag I threw in the kitchen trash and under my car where I dropped them when getting out. Once I even found my five month old playing with them after I had searched frantically for a while. He was sleeping when we came in, and I must have dropped them inside the baby carrier while I was getting him out. We realized he had them when he hit the panic button from inside the house. My personal favorite was sitting them on a shelf in TJ Maxx while I was looking around. DH had to bring me my extra keys so I could get home and someone in the store found them the next day.

I now have one of those silicon keychains that slips over your are like a bracelet (looks like one of the Livestrong bracelets, but it is bright green) so I put them on my arm when I am out and put them on a hook in my house as soon as I get in. Knock on wood, I haven't lost them in about a year. Good luck finding them.

DH's keys went missing once for about 3 months. I found them sitting on a ledge under the dining room table where the self-storing table leaves go.

Of course, we had a toddler at the time, so I don't think that helps the OP ;)

A few winters ago, I lost my car keys, and couldn't find them for about a week. Then, lo and behold, when the snow melted next to where I parked my car, there they were. I guess I had dropped them, and then it snowed that night. :headache:

last time I couldn't find my keys all day... they were in my husbands pocket.... didn't realize he had them till I called them frantically that I couldn't pick up the kids from school that day......now they first place i look is hubby..

I found them! They were zipped inside DD's ABD backpack. I knew that the backpacks had been on a chair right next to where I throw my keys. I had picked them up & shook them several times. I never thought to unzip them since they were supposed to be new & empty. Good thing I read a thread on packing & that motivated me to get started tonight. Way to go Disboards! :thumbsup2
