This is my first trip in several years and the first since my son is an "adult"(11 years old) This is my itinerary so far. We are going March 25-30. We are spending very little time at MGM in order to do Disney Quest and Typhoon Lagoon(my son really wants to do these) He's not into the thrill rides, so I figure that MGM is the one place we could surely spend only 1/2 day. I did use Tour Guide Mike for the least crowded days(I had picked the WORST days the first time, LOL) Of course, I have my detailed itinerary, but this is the gist....

Looks pretty workable to me. The only thing I would be concerned about is your Epcot morning-- you are scheduled for Chef Mickey's at 7:50 am. If you're staying at Pop, it'll be pretty hectic to get from there to the Contemporary early, then get to Epcot at opening afterwards. If you're not worried about getting to Epcot right at opening, though, you'll be OK. Just don't miss Soarin'. :)

My only concern is that I think your DTD/DQ/TL day may be a little too packed.

Most of the DTD shopping that you'll probably want to do (ie, all the Disney related stores) are at the opposite end of DTD from DQ. I would save my shopping until the last day (especially since by then you'll have probably done some shopping in the parks and can go to DTD knowing exactly what souvies you have left to get).

I would go to DQ right at opening and make sure DS is able to hit the major things that he wants to do -- sometimes the waits can be long later in the day. Then have lunch (Food Quest is one of the hidden CS gems at WDW, btw!) and go to TL. You can hit the major things at TL at least once within a relatively short amount of time, even with long lines. Don't miss the shark reef experience! It's amazing.

As far as Chef Mickey's and Epcot, I am renting a car, so I'll be driving to the Contemporary and then to Epcot after breakfast. If we can't get on Soarin first thing, I will get a Fastpass--that is one we REALLY want to do! What time does Epcot open usually?

For DTD day, I need to see when the stores open. I know DQ opens at 10:30, and we will be there when it opens. The only store I am really really interested in doing is Once Upon a Toy for the Mr Potato Head box(for me, LOL) I figure the rest we can do one evening or on last day. Typhoon Lagoon is mainly for the shark reef, but I'm sure Torin will enjoy some of the other attractions too. They close fairly early though and DTD is open later, so we may go back there after TL.

I would love to spend my last few hours after our departure day breakfast at one of the outlets. Which one is closest and/or easiest to get to?

No need to wait for DTD for the mr potato head box. You can do this in several park locations as well. I know for sure there is a store in MGM that has it because on our last trip we ducked into it during a rain storm. We spent almost an hour building and re-building potato heads and using all the fun parts! :rotfl:
