My greyhound is gone:(

I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug: You both were very lucky to have each other.

Your Pet's In Heaven
by Ken D. Conover

To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all.

For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.

For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.

For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.

I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.

Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.

I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.

We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.

You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique.

Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Your Pet's In Heaven

Sending you and your family some hugs - :grouphug:  I've been where you are now. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It's so hard for me to read these threads without crying. I'm so sorry for what you're going through.

I know it's small consolation, but you did the right thing by your furbaby.

:grouphug:

Oh, Brenda, my heart aches for you and your son. It's such a difficult decision to make... we love them so; and don't want them to leave us but we have to set them free of their pain.
The Rainbridge theory helps... I like to think of my Journey and Moondoggy now free of pain... running for all get out.. then finding a sunny spot in the grass and doing that "oh so lovely" cockroaching. It brings a smile sometimes when I want to cry from missing them.

Linda

Run free, now Boots, run free without pain.

I am so sorry. I am a strong believer that he will be waiting for you, though. I know how difficult this is. These fur babies have a way of becoming a very important part of our lives.

I am sitting here in tears for you. :grouphug:
Just know that your sweet greyhound is still watching over you, and is painfree.

:grouphug: to you and your family during this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have been in your position and it does indeed hurt....so sorry for your loss, but you made a decision based on love.......remember the good times with your lost friend...... :grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug:
Brenda, I had to do the same thing for my beloved dog two months ago.... as time goes by you will know more and more that you did a brave and selfless thing for him. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry. :( It's so hard, I know. I just had a breakdown tonight remembering our Maggie...we lost her on November 2nd last year. :sad2:

You're right, it's a very difficult thing to go through. Remember, he'll live forever in your hearts. So sorry for your loss. :grouphug:
