My Great Aunt's Advice about Vacations

My story might seem a little out of place but... My parents saved and invested their money wisely for years. They took us on a couple trips. One being our big trip to Disneyland in 1966. My parents traveled a lot and my mom even bought a travel agency. After my father retired at the age of 55 they traveled quite frequently until my mom passed when she was 81. DW wants to do the same thing but she isn't real good at the saving part. I'm fixing to retire in the next few years and hopefully we will be able to do some traveling just nowhere near as much as my parents...

It can be really hard to balance the "save money" and "it's okay to spend money on fun family experiences." I'm still working on it.
