My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

I have spent the last week making light of a situation that was very heavy. I took rig and I a long time to get over the feeling of being tramatized.

We are doing fine now. But before I post about the arrest I need to ask Rig how much detail he is comfortable with me giving. I will post about our dinner at Planet Hollywood real soon, and once Rig gets home I will talk to him. I want to be respectful of his feelings in this only because he wants to read this when it is finished. If me posting every detail is going to be upsetting to him then I just can't do that to him.

I know you all will be so understanding, and I will still tell of the arrest, I would never build you up to it and then change my mind. Just right now I am questioning the amount of detail I should add.

Just post what you can. We all love your story telling. If I upset you with my last post I'm sorry.

Lee You relish weaving all the little details into your story much as a master craftsman weaves silk into a priceless tapestry. We love this about you and for your fans your story is priceless. You seem a little rushed, slow down. Relax and enjoy from your heart what you write don’t worry about how fast you write it.
Tickledog

P.S . Sappy?? NO I BELIEVE…I BELIEVE Love, laugh, tickle your wife every day and enjoy life. They don’t call me Tickledog for nothing.
Tickle dog, you have an unbleivable talent for turning a phrase. Why aren't you writing anything right now? Or are you?

I do feel rushed, but not because of anybody here, I am feeling anxious, the worst part of our trip is coming up, I want to get it over with and move on to our greener pastures, our sappy in love days at the parks.

The first time you rode Splash Mountain were the other 4 people in your log all wearing Splash Mountain T Shirts? Did the woman keep your camera dry in her bright orange back pack?
I don't know what the other 4 people were wearing as far as what their shirts said, I know the 2 infront of us had on yellow ponchos, and her bag was black.:confused3

Holy Moly that is going to be so cool if it was you!
that would be cool, I mean Rig might not want me to post pictures of us, but I can't help it if somebody else does, right:confused3

You have written a wonderful trip report. In some ways I don't want you to post pictures so that I can imagine in my head what you look like.

Post what you are comfortable with. You are in no way committed to writing what happened unless you feel comfortable. Or post a simple version "Rig and Truck got in a fight and were arrested." Do what is best for you and Rig
thank you.

I want to pull up a couch and post it all.

O.M.Goodness! I just found your trip report this morning, and have read it off and on all day. I even took my iPhone into the store and read it while I did the marketing. :rotfl: I can't believe I got to the end and you are right at the arrest. I can't handle the suspense, I am going to fall down dead. Please come back soon!
I will come back soon. I just can't seem to keep up with the posts, I want o answer everybody.

YOu read my story on your iPhone while shopping? I am truly honnored:hug:

I'm a librarian too! I would definitely put a RigLee book in my library. :goodvibes
Thankyou, that would be another dream come true.

OMG the anticipation is killing me!!popcorn::
:flower3: soon.

lovegrumpyI haven't been upset by anybodys posts, especially not yours. Everybody has been so nice and encouraging, I understand the anticipation of wanting to hear more.

Seems like alot of people have come to my defense against r1lissa"s post, and thank you. I am not bothered or hurt by it all. This trip report would be more believable if I wrote it like a normal trip report. I have read lots of other trip reports where the husband and wife are so in love, and he is good to her and she to him, I hope these people don't get upset that I use their name, but if you were to read timandlesleys trip report, their love is evident, and believable. I think i tjust how it's written.

Have I embelished anything about Rig being the gentleman he is? No way!
Have I added a little too much detail about how Rig was sitting, or what I was leaning on? probably, but so what?

I am thoroughly enjoying your trip report. The both of you sound like a wonderful devoted couple and of course you should only write what is acceptable and respectful to your husband. He is the one you have to please not us

I just wanted to tell you that this trip report was the perfect way to entertain myself during a rainy afternoon.

Thank you so much for sharing...your writing is nothing short of A - MAZ - ING!!

That's too bad, sometimes after a lot of ups and downs in a person's life, they come accross someone real special, and sometimes it is sappy. I am so happy for Lee that she found her Rig and they have that special sappy kind of relationship!! Maybe one day you will find yours and be able to write a trip report that draws us all in like this one!!

My Rig IS a real life cowboy born and bred in Texas who happens to be in Iraq right now. We went to WDW last summer when he was on R&R, but those are my REAL memories.
I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but IMO this is pure fiction. Now, enjoy the rest of the story....

I wish you and your hubby all the best, and I hope you are enoying this story as much as I am. Don't worry about my bubble it is all in tact. lol

"Rig, does your brother think your gay?"

Rig chuckled, "No Babylee, he thinks he's funny."

Truck had come walking up to us and gave Rig a slap on the back.

First impressions of Truck, he was OK. It was obvious they were related. Even though Truck and Rig are only 2 years apart, Truck looked alot older. this man is not aging well I thought.

He was taller than Rig by maybe 2 inches, a little broader in the shoulders and he was sporting a little pooch of a beer belly but give it a few more years he would have a full fledged beer gut. His hair was the same blonde as Rigs only he kept it longer and his curls were out of control. He smiled at us and his teeth although very straight were also quite yellow.

Rig extended his hand to Truck, Truck slapped it away and said "We're brothers." and gave Rig a hug. My heart warmed to him. this is going to be so wonderful for Rig.
Truck pushed back from Rig and looked at me. "The wife?" he asked

Rig put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him, "Truck this is Leela."

"Leela huh? what school yard playground did you pick her up in? she looks 10."

Rig laughed, it was his fake laugh reserved for when he was nervous.

Truck turned around and grabbed Tonyas shirt and pulled her into our circle. "This is my wife Tonya, said Truck, not by paper though, she's my wife cause I say she is." his laugh was deafening

Tonya was my height but carried more weight then I did, alot more weight. she had dark brown hair pulled back in a tight ponytail. And she looked like she could spit fire. I got the impression that she hated Rig and me already.
But she nodded her head in hello to us. "It's cold out here, can we go in?"
She was chomping on gum and it reminded me of a cow chewing grass.

We walked to the top of the stairs and the door attendants asked to take our picture. We posed for the picture and then headed inside.

Omagosh that place is loud, it is so alive in there, and so much to take in, It would take a couple more visits there to see all of it. They had a live DeeJay. and he was anouncing birhtdays and anniversaries. I thought Planet Hollywood is a fun restaurant, I couldn't wait to try the food.

We were led to a table on the second floor, not right next to the balcony, that would have been neat, but we were one table back from it. they had a big screen and was playing music videos on it.

Rig pulled my chair out for me and I sat down, He then went and tried to pull a chair out for Tonya and Truck in a loud sarcastic way took the chair from Rig. "Allow me." Tonya rolled her eyes as she sat down. the hostess took our drink order, Rig and I ordered a Pop, Truck and Tonya ordered a beer.

We all just kind of sat there, nodding and smiling politley. Truck has this look about him, like, at any minute he is going to cause trouble. He leaned his chair back and kept looking from me to Rig.

Rig started with the small talk, "How was your drive out here."

"What in my truck?"

"Yeah, in your truck."

"I didn't think you cared about that, you know trucking, that's why you left."

Rig shook his head and looked away, he muttered under his breath, "why I left? right."

Truck picked up a menu, "We should get an appetizer, you all wanna split an appetizer?"

Tonya wanted an appetizer, Rig and I said no.

Our waiter came out with the drinks and asked if this was going to be on the dining plan, Rig told him that for us 2 it would be. So the waiter seperated our order, Truck and Tonya started out with the buffalo wings and another beer. they also ordered hamburgers. Rig and I got the beef fajitas.

"So what;s the dining plan do?" asked Tonya

"It just means we prepaid for our meals, it's something that disney offers it's resort guests." I felt wierd talking, as long as I was quiet I was comfortable. I was hoping this feeling would change once I got to know them better.

I kept looking at Tonya, and thinking, she is my sister in law, not on paper though, but because Truck said so. I giggled at first, then it became a little laugh then a loud laugh then an I couldn't stop myself laugh.

"what's so funny?" asked Truck

I had to make something up, I couldn't blurt out that I thought it was hysterical that Truck made Tonya his wife by saying so. It's a sweet concept, kind of like common law marriage, but it was the "Because I said so" that had me laughing. "I was just thinking about thunder railroad."

"So, said Tonya, that's not funny."

I nodded, "You're right, it's not."

I looked at Rig, he didn't look sure of anything at the moment.

After what was a long awkward silence the waiter came out with the appetizers. Rig had his hat sitting on his knee and the waiter offered to take it and it hung up for him while he ate. Rig was grateful and handed over his hat.

Tonya and Truck tore into their buffalo wings. Truck offered us a sample but we declined.

As the night went on the conversation started to flow a little easier. Rig and Truck got to talking about old times, things they did as kids, trouble they got into. I was really enjoying myself and Rig had finally stopped fidgeting.

What about this story makes you so sure it is 100% fiction? Is it because she writes about the lovey dovey stuff instead of rides, food, parades, and such? Is it the lack of pictures? Just wondering what makes you so positive.:confused3
Lee is correct that there are lots of loving, considerate, affectionate, happy couples on the Dis...Timandlesley, Winkers, WendyO, Podsnel, Lurkeyloo just to name a few... (and no offense to anyone I forgot) Their reports just don't highlight it over the WDW exerience. But it's there in their stories none-the-less. Lee's story does focus more on the sap but, true or not, it is interesting reading. :surfweb:
On another note, THANK YOU to your cowboy soldier for his service to our country! Praying for his quick and safe return

Lee,
I got so excited to read your last installment that I almost let the cookies burn. They're okay, though. The second batch is just slightly more brown and crispy than the first.:rolleyes1
But I'm finished baking for the evening so I'm ready to read the rest anytime.:lmao:

Oh my gosh me too!!! I wanted something yummy and since the heat finally broke a bit I decided tongiht was the perfect night for cookies. What did you make? I made chocolate chip but made them into warm ice cream sandwiches with mint chocolate chip (light, like it matters!) ice cream, just like in MK!

I just have to tell you, as a testament to what a great writer you are and how enthralled we have become to your story, that DH (aka Thumped_Man) and I are currently sitting at McDonald's eating and reading the latest chapter on our phones. We couldn't wait till we got home.

Oh and DH said that he pictures you and Rig like the characters from the movie 8 seconds. Rig as Lane Frost and you Kelly. (Luke Perry & Cynthia Gear)

Please do not feel obligated to write anything that you do not feel comfortable posting. I am enjoying your TR so much and do not need you to put things in that are really none of our business. I admit the title of your TR drew me in, but I really thought it would turn out be something like Toy Story Woody jail or something silly like that. I am enjoying the way you write and the story and that is why I keep coming back. Also, thanks to all the other readers and librarians who have given me some names of new authors to check out next time I am at the library. I also am sorry your BIL was so rude the first time you met him. The story about you laughing at the table and then covering it up with nonsense had me laughing out loud. Can't wait for more of the Riglee story.

This story is so entertaining! Also, I was surprised to find another part of this great country that says "Pop" instead of "Soda" or "Coke". Thought it was just us Michigan and Ohio people :goodvibes

Ha, this made me smile I was born in Ohio and raised in Michigan, I thought of "soda" as a baking ingredient or something that absorbs odors in your fridge. :confused3 But after being a NYer for almost 17 years I now think of a pop as something you'd do to an enemy (give them a pop ;) .) I go back home and people say I have developed an accent, mostly they laugh when I say "soda."

I made choc. chip too.:rotfl: But I didn't make ice cream sandwiches out of mine. Yours sound better. I just won't tell my kids what they "could have been". ;)

Now, I guess I'll do some :laundy:

this is an amazing trip report and story and its great your husband is serving our country but sometimes you just have to enjoy life and live in the moment or the dream whatever makes your life great. My husband and I have been together for 15 years and we still act like newlyweds its what keeps the marriage alive and healthy.

Our lives are parallel, baking cookies. doing laundry and waiting for updates from Riglee. :yay:
