Traveller: Me, myself and I.
Destination: Coronado Springs Resort
Duration: From 29 april through 13 may.
Chapter: DAY 2 (wednesday 30 April).

The day before I felt asleep very fast, but was awake at 5am and couldn't sleep anymore. I relized I am at Walt Disney World right now and this is really the first day I can start going to the parks. But I'm allready within Disneyworld. This was also the first time I'm staying on site at WDW.
Of course it is still to early for breakfast at this time. after laying on the bed for a while and thinking of what I'm going to do this day and the following day etc. Finally I put on the TV and checked out a few channels. After zapping for a while I ended up looking the Disneyworld info channel for the full round and of course I enjoyed it, because I was able to do all the things I saw on that channel just a few hours away. After I had seen all of this channel I zapped on to the WDW Today channel to see the park hours etc. These were just the same as I knew allready.
After that I looked up the weather channel. Why isn't it possible to just press the channel number with a numeric keyboard? The only what I could do was jumping channel by channel. The weather channel was on channel 38, so sometimes you have to press the button for a while before you will get the the channel you wished. I thought it just is so, and didn't think anymore about that. The forocast was some T storms, so I heeded to pack my rain jack with me. Although it was warm enough to put on just shorts and a T-shirt. After watching TV I showered and get settled for the day. Prepared my small backpack that I had packed in the case for the day and by 7.25am I went to the Maya Grill for breakast. Had made a PS through Dreamsunlimited, but it wasn't needed at all. It was very empty at the Maya Grill and was promptly seated. After the airline food I needed a really good meal and of course a real American breakfast buffet is a perfect start of the day. There was everything on this buffet what you can expect to be there. Of course I started with the hot stuff. Thats just the fun of an american breakfast. In our country its very uncommon to eat potato ans other hot dishes for breakfast. By us, even at hotels hte main course of a breakfast is bread, bread and bread with things that you put on it such as ham, cheese, jam etc. After finishing the hot stuff I got a waffle with sirop and finally I ended with some fruit The meal took about 50 minutes. After that I went to the room to brush theeth and get my backpack for the day and I went to the bus stop. My first day is now really to start.
At the bus stop number 1, which was really a short walk, I found out that I couldn't read the destination information on the buses, so I asked someone else where buses were going. The second bus was the one for MGM Studios. I had planned to go to this park the first day. After a short ride on the bus I arrived just about 9am at the park. The first thing was a short wait for bagcheck. After that I went to the ticket counter, with no wait to exchange my voucher to get my Florida Fun in the Sun pass. Its a Disney ticket that is good for everything that you also get with an Premium Annual Pass and the pass is good for 30 days.
It took some time for them to make my pass and they couldn't find a sleeve for it, so I got the right pass, but got a sleeve for a ten day world pass, but they told me that the pass was good for 30 days of course.
And on I went to the turnstiles. Put my ticket in and after that the CM put my ticket a second time in. Maybe this has to do with recording the fingers that I need to put in the finger reader. Finally I could go through and there I was in the MGM Studios.

The first thing I wanted to do was the Back stage tour, but I found out that it didn't open till 10am. So I went to the Little Mermaid show because the next show as within five minutes.
A good pure Disney show and so a good start of the first day.
After that I got a fast pass ticket for the Tower of Terror and wnet to the rock and roller coaster that was just a walk on.
I did the ride here on the two previous trip, but when I visited the Disney Studios in Paris I wasn't able to compare all of the coaster with the one in Florida. I did the Paris ride much times and now I was able to compare the whole thing.
What can I say about it. The pre show is longer in Florida and tells you a better story. After that pre show at WDW they have the real theming that you are in LA and leaving in a car. Also during the ride you pass several theming about the roads you are driving on. Finally you arrive at your destination.
In Paris the theming is not like this story. The better thing in Paris is the ride itself. While riding there is a whole light show inside.
While the track is exactly the same as is the layout of the bulding and pre show location, its a very different experience. I think both versions have their good and minor things.
Tower of Terror, did it first without fast pass, because the times wasn't so far to use it. After that I went az second time on it with the fast pass.
Its really a great attraction to experience and I liked it to do the ride again and again during my stay. The dropp experience is total different each ride now.
After that I went to star tours and did some shopping along.
In the mean time it was past noon. Time can go really fast while at WDW. I really wanted to do the Backlot tour in the AM hours, because otherwise the sun is just where I want to watch the catostrophy canyon, so I decided to do that later.
Finally did the muppets show and some more wandering around and sat down for a while with a drink and it was about 2 o clock.
I thought why not go to the Magic Kingdom. I couldn't live with the idea to not go to the MK on my first day. Of course I had planned to be there on the next day, but decided to go there right now. Thought it should be busy tomorrow, since it is an early entry day and its the only evening this week that day have spectro and fireworks. So about 2pm I exited MGM and hopped on a bus to the MK. Since here every destination has its own bus stop there was no need to worry about the destination info on the bus itself. The bus was just there about to leave, so I was just there at the right time.
Changed at TTC to the express monorail and I was in the Magic Kingdom about 2.30pm. The parade was at 3pm, so I looked for a a good spot and watched the parade.
It was a different parade then two years ago, so it was also new to me. After that I went on big thunder mountain not a very long wait. After that I went to the haunted mansion and that wass also just walk on. When I exited the Haunted Mansion ride I found out that it has started to rain and not a little bit, very strong rain. I didn't want to go outside. A CM told that you have to choose to exit and get wet or ride it again. I ended up riding the Haunted Mansion three times.
After that the rain hadn't stopped, but I had enough seen of HM at this time. I put on my rain jack and also the rain was not so strong then at first. I walked to Its a small world and ride it once.
Now it was near 4.30 and hadn't eat anything after breakfast, so I went to the Colombian Harbour house and eat the Fish and Chicken combo. After that the rain was over. Went to tomorrowland and got a fast pass for Space Mountain. Then ride the TTA and Buzz that was a short wait. After that went to Space Mountain. Now it was near 6pm and I really wanted to do Splash Mountain. It was a short wait, maybe because the sun was away, but it was still not raining. After that it was near 6.30pm and the park should close today at 7pm Exited the park a few minutes past 6.30pm. First plan was to go back to MGM for Fahtasmic, but I thought I should be to late for a good spot. It was near 7pm when I arrived at the TTC per monorail. Just when I exited the monorail there was a short cut to transfer to the Epcot monorail and that monorail was just in the station and half empty, so I get on the monorail to Epcot.
At Epcot I did Test Track and after that the boat rides in Mesico and Norway. I grabbed a snack and a drink and went to the best spot for viewing Illuminations. In my opinion the best spot is the bridge just before entering the mexico pavilion. When you look Illuminations from there it looks like the show is just made to view it from that point. A friend told me about this viewing spot on my previous trip.
After Illuminations I went back to the resort.
Bought the Mug for about $10 and got my first free coke.
Took it to my room and watched some TV and after that I went to bed. was tired enough to fell asleep very fast.

Thanks for your trip report!!!! Luv reading them.

Wow, another very busy day......... Going by yourself seems so scary to me.... Did you ever feel lonely? I wish I had the nerve to go out of the country by myself.

Great report, thanks.

One question, how did you get a 30 day pass and if you don't mind how much did you pay for it?

Thanks

Hi,

The Florida Fun in the Sun pass is a pass that you can not buy within the United states. In which countries its for sale I don't know, but it is in my Country (The Netherlands) and also in Germany and other European countries.

The pass is good for 30 consecutive days, starting the first day of use. Within the 30 days its good for unlimited visits to MK, EPCOT, MGM, AK, BB, TL, PI, DQ, WWW or in other words all locations where admission media is required at WDW. Bisides this the pass is also good for five other attractions in Florida. Not themeparks, but you get by example free admission to Kennedy Space Center, The Everglades safaripark and a sea aquarium in Miami. The other two I can't remember.
Last bus not least with the pass you get one (character)breakfast at Disney for free at one of the participating locations.

I paid 285 EURO's for the pass, but I'v seen the price is now 279 EURO's.
I bought it from www.americanestates.nl. Click on the Disney link. Its all in our Dutch language. You can also buy there Disney hopper passes

Hope this helps,

Marcel.
