My first solo trip to Japan - Fantasy Springs Opening Day Trip Report (complete 6/10/25)

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 8)

IMG_7011.jpeg

Busy Buggies was a cute ride but pretty static, not many props actually move. The ride vehicle actually spins quite a bit and is a bit jerky, for someone really sensitive it might be too much.

IMG_7032.jpeg

Overall Tink's ride was very cute but definitely a one and done for me. I think it's worth waiting in the queue to see it as long as the line isn't crazy long.

It was time for my Lookout Cookout mobile order! I noticed the standby wait times were finally in the app at this point, around 9:40AM. I saw several important looking Disney people walking around, definitely execs or Imagineers based on how they were dressed!

I also saw Chris from TDR Explorer and I was brave enough to say hello and just let him know I appreciate his guidebook.

I walked right in to Lookout Cookout after showing my mobile order on my phone, they did make sure you clicked I'm here before going in!

IMG_7034.jpeg

I went to the order counter inside to use my beverage ticket on the sparkling kiwi drink. My mobile order snack box was ready right away. There was plenty of seating since it was pretty early in the morning still.

IMG_7040.jpeg

The snack box unfolded to this cute map of the Peter Pan area of FS! I had the curry chicken and it was nicely seasoned. I didn't really like the popover, pretty dry. The shrimp chips were good and the seaweed puffs were certainly interesting. I liked the banana chips too, it was a nice mix of random things. I think there were two chicken strips, so it was a hearty snack or light meal, I'd get it again!

The drink was very sweet but good, the star melted into glitter and little crunchy stars. This drink was a more typical American-sized drink, I think all of the drinks in FS were quite large compared to the rest of the park.

IMG_7046.jpeg

While eating I was able to pick up a Snuggly Duckling mobile order window for 10:50AM. I think there was a cool off period for making FS mobile orders, maybe an hour? Snuggly Duckling return times were wide open but the Frozen Restaurant was already gone for the day.

It looked like Frozen was back up so I headed there next. I did stop by the Frozen bathrooms first and everyone was taking pictures of the decor, lol. There were so many bathrooms, and they were very nice, similar to the ones in Epcot!

I made it to Frozen around 10:05 and there was a bit of a line this time, mostly to scan passes though.

IMG_7047.jpeg

The line moved quickly and since I got to use the priority lane, I was on around 10:14, front row this time!

IMG_7048.jpeg

All of the ride queues were elaborately themed. I also liked that the ride vehicles had individual seats, they will fill every single seat. in the US a lot of the rides are just rows with no little seat dividers so it's not always obvious how many people can fit in a row, which can lead to awkward confusion in line if the CM doesn't tell you to sit with another party.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 9)

I loved being front row, it really is the best way to experience most dark rides.

IMG_7058.jpeg

I still cannot get over how much longer the rides were at TDR, so much more enjoyable!

IMG_7059.jpeg

This ride is so re-ridable, I was easily my favorite of the new FS rides. I'm not sure I want to ride the Epcot version anymore...ugh!

IMG_7071.jpeg

Olaf humming do you want to build a snowman at end was so funny!

IMG_7052.jpeg

I decided to check out the outside of the new FS Hotel at this point, just a short walk from the main FS area.

They really pipe the music in there, it was glorious!

IMG_7078.jpeg

The rock formations were so well done, I'm sure I didn't even find them all. Maleficent was awesome and they used water and steam very purposefully.

IMG_7083.jpeg

IMG_7084.jpeg

There was a line for the FS gift shop that wrapped around a couple times, it wasn't super clear what was needed but I waved my wristband and that seemed to be enough to allow me in line at 10:33AM. I don't remember seeing a standby pass option in the app but I may have missed it.

IMG_7086.jpeg

While I was in line, the princesses went by! I think I said this earlier in the TR but the princesses generally looked a bit different at TDR, but the princesses in FS looked more consistent with those in the US Parks! All were beautiful of course!

IMG_7092.jpeg
IMG_7094.jpeg

The line moved quickly and I was into the FS hotel shop 10 minutes later. The CM used her translator app to explain that to check out, you need to present the paper ticket they give you in line, and you can only enter the shop and make a purchase once per day! I ended up cancelling my Emporio standby pass and making a new one for later that afternoon.

@Disneyhanna thank you so much for sharing your trip! It is so insightful!

Sorry for the loss of your car.
Hope that you are moving fwd with the plans to visit again!

I will go to the three Asian parks next year and your trip report is very handy for it!

Also a fellow runDisney participant!

Thank you!! :lovestruc I will be getting back to this TR soon, I keep going on Disney trips and getting side tracked :rotfl:

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 10)

Sorry for the delay everyone! I was busy going to Disneyland for Halloween and Disney World for Thanksgiving since my last update :rotfl2: Also, Dopey training has been ramping up, I ran 20 miles on Sunday and would you believe I am too tired to write my TR after those runs? :hyper:

I need to do a dining TR for my WDW trip but I suppose I should prioritize this one!

Back to the FSH merch shop! This shop was so beautiful! It wasn't too crowded since it was such limited access.

IMG_7096.jpeg

Everything in Tokyo Disney is a bit over the top, unlike the minimalist look they seem to be going for in the US parks.

IMG_7097.jpeg

I wandered around the shop multiple times since I didn't want to miss anything. I picked up the Rapunzel ears, of course! These were limited to one per person, I believe. I think at the time they scanned your park ticket to enforce the limits.

IMG_7098.jpeg

I know reselling is a thing at TDR, but since annual passes are currently gone, I imagine you can always buy more merch the next day since you can only buy one day tickets. But at least this sort of thing helps with the mass buying at once.

IMG_7099.jpeg

I would have loved to get a mug at TDR, but pretty much all of them were hand wash only, which I am not willing to risk!

IMG_7100.jpeg

I did get suckered into buying the big reusable tote, which I have no idea what I'll do with, but it has a zipper! Lol.

IMG_7102.jpeg

I finished shopping a little after 11, so I only spent about 20-25 minutes inside. I got a few keychains and pins as souvenirs, I'll do a haul at some point in this post. The merch here was on the pricier side so I didn't go as crazy. I didn't have to wait long for checkout, thankfully.

Loved the steam effects on this one!

IMG_7105.jpeg

I'm not really sure what I did for the next half hour as there's a gap in my photos and notes :rotfl2: I must have left FS and walked towards the other side of DisneySea. I entered the Big Band Beat lottery for 12:55 and I got it! Wow! That was the only show I wanted to see in either park as Mickey's Magical Music World was down during my trip.

IMG_7107.PNG

Since I still had a while til the show, I stopped at the Lost River Cookhouse to use my VP beverage ticket. They had a sparkling mango tapioca drink that sounded good. There was a bit of a line so I waited just under 10 minutes. Too bad you cannot mobile order with the beverage ticket!

It was getting quite warm at this point, so I was excited for a cold beverage. This was normally 600¥.

IMG_7112.jpeg

This was a normal "American" sized drink, very similar to passionfruit green tea if you've had that before. There was some fruit pulp in it as well, delicious! This was a popular stand throughout my trip and always had at least a short line!

On my way to Big Band Beat, I stopped by the MiraCosta park entrance to drop off my shopping bags quickly. That was so convenient, and I wanted to make use of my expensive hotel perks  There was never a wait to use that entrance and they never checked for a room key when I went in or out of that entrance, that I can remember.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 11)

I definitely felt some familiarity as I headed towards Big Band Beat! Sort of fun thinking about how TDR guests can get a taste of America!

IMG_7113.jpeg

I wished I had more time to just explore DisneySea more, the park itself is so big, it would take a few days to get through everything thoroughly.

IMG_7115.jpeg

This area to me felt closer to Universal than a US Disney park, Universal Studios FL in particular!

IMG_7116.jpeg

I think Food & Wine was going on for the first time but I really didn't notice anything for it, and none of the reviews had me seeking anything out.

IMG_7117.jpeg

If I had more time, I would have loved to have ridden the Electric Railway, for example!

IMG_7118.jpeg

Finally I made it to Big Band Beat! Did I mention how big this park is? :rotfl2:

IMG_7120.jpeg

The building was huge, and there were no lines to get in.

IMG_7121.jpeg

Very old school feeling, and it did really feel like you were going to a show outside of a theme park!

IMG_7122.jpeg

I was seated around 12:40, and just before the show at 12:55 there were still a lot of empty seats, no shows I suppose. It was quite warm in the theater so I was glad for my little handheld electric fan.

IMG_7126.jpeg

My reserved seat was in the right balcony which was still a great view. The wait before and during the show were a good chance for me to let my phone charge in my bag :hyper:

The show ended up being really cute, especially Donald's parts. I enjoyed the music but I'll admit, I battled falling asleep most of the show. The seats were really comfy...

This show is in English so I wonder how many people in the audience understand it!

The American waterfront is amazing, and such a unique feature of the park to be on a bay. I didn't spend much time in this area but there was plenty to see!

IMG_7127.jpeg

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 12)

I checked and at 1:24PM, all of the FS mobile order slots were gone. It was time for my priority pass for 20,000 Leagues which I must have booked earlier that morning.

IMG_7131.jpeg

Mysterious Island was such a cool part of the park, I cannot believe they built this!

IMG_7133.jpeg

I went in with no knowledge of what this ride was, nor what the general consensus is on it. And after going on the ride, I'm not sure I know any more than I did before riding it :hyper: Standby was 20 minutes and I was on the ride within a couple minutes thanks to my priority pass.

IMG_7134.jpeg

It was...interesting! I didn't realize it was a submarine voyage, but duh!

IMG_7143.jpeg

I don't think I would ever need to ride it again, I'll leave it at that.

Next up was my VP paid pass for Journey to the Center of the Earth. I was really excited for this one, I had never watched a ride video but I knew it was a popular ride.

IMG_7145.jpeg

Standby was 40 minutes and I scanned in at 1:50PM.

IMG_7148.jpeg

The queue was cool, though you don't see much of it in the priority line. The elevator ride was neat as well, didn't expect that! I was onto the ride by 2:03.

The ride seats were spacious and comfortable, I liked the ride vehicle. Sort of similar to Dinosaur/Indy.

IMG_7150.jpeg

The ride itself was really fun but super short! As soon as the best part happens, it's over! I did enjoy it a lot, and would ride it again if the wait weren't too long.

It was time for some more food, I was so busy I didn't have as many snacks this day.

There was no wait at Miguel's El Dorado Cantina. 2:18 I got the famous gyoza dog for 600¥ and used my beverage ticket on a sparkling peach and lemon drink, normally 700¥.

IMG_7152.jpeg

The drink was nice, I preferred the mango tapioca drink from earlier but this was still enjoyable! Full sized and not too sweet.

IMG_7154.jpeg

The gyoza dog was a big portion. See that paper underneath it?

IMG_7155.jpeg

I guess I was so hungry, I ate 2/3 of this before realizing I was eating the paper :rotfl:

I thought wow, this is good but kinda tastes papery...you don't say...

It was filling and I'd get it again, if you've had a steamed bun it's really not much different. Maybe I would have liked it better sans paper :bitelip:

While eating I checked the app, at this point all of the FS rides had 10 minute standby waits. Yeah, they REALLY limited passes on the first couple days of FS opening!

After my meal, I decided to head back to FS for another round.

I made it back to Fantasy Springs by 2:50, there were so many people waiting at the entrance until their standby/DPA times were eligible to enter the land!

IMG_7164.jpeg

I headed to Peter Pan first, standby was still listed as 10. I estimated maybe 20 people in the standby queue so basically walk on, they just put the standby people in the back of the preshow while priority pass people were in the front.

IMG_7166.jpeg

I was onto the ride by 3:00 in the back row this time. I really enjoyed the back, the ride vehicle is tilted so every row can see, and you could see more of the screen. Maybe slightly less immersive but it more to see, so I think every row on this ride is good!

Frozen standby went up to 20 so I headed to Rapunzel instead, which was still listed at 10. Looking back I'm not sure why I cared about the standby wait times since I could go through the priority lane with my FS wristband. I think I was tired and thinking that was the priority wait time :hyper:

IMG_7171.jpeg

I could listen to Rapunzel singing from her tower all day! I am so glad the built it so that you can see/watch her from outside the queue.

There were a lot more people in the standby line for Rapunzel, only took about 5 minutes in the priority lane. Second row, this time! I think the best position for this ride would be front row on the left side, since you'd be closest to the animatronics in the lantern scene.

IMG_7176.jpeg

I just couldn't believe how quiet Fantasy Springs was, and how short the wait times were. I expected them to really limit passes at the start to ensure a good experience, and that was exactly what ended up happening.

I took a bit of time to explore the land, checking out the Peter Pan ship!

IMG_7186.jpeg

Skull Rock was so cool, probably one of my favorite parts.

IMG_7189.jpeg

The view from the eyes was pretty cool!

IMG_7191.jpeg

This land was so lovely, easy to get around, and I liked that sort of circles around the lake/pond. It's easy to hit everything without knowing where you are going (unlike Galaxy's Edge where I get lost to this day )

IMG_7192.jpeg

Lots of details even in the walking paths!

IMG_7195.jpeg

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 14)

My Snuggly Duckling mobile order window arrived, I got an app notification a few minutes early that let me hit the "I'm here" button.

IMG_7182.jpeg

There was no wait to order my Rapunzel milk tea inside with my beverage ticket.

IMG_7196.jpeg

More fun theming in this restaurant!

IMG_7197.jpeg

Loved all of the duck motifs!

IMG_7199.jpeg

This milk tea was so good! The portion was huge (like a US large), and it had fruit jellies inside. Not as sweet as I was expecting, which is a good thing! Adults and kids would love this, I think, though it's definitely a dessert drink!

IMG_7206.jpeg

The dessert was just ehhhh. I really only ordered it because on opening day, I didn't realize you could just ask to go in with your beverage ticket, I thought you had to mobile order. It was similar to the mediocre popover from the Peter Pan restaurant, a bit soggy and very eggy, and cold. The pan was actually plastic and one-use, not a souvenir!

When looking in the app, I saw the wait time for ShellieMay had dropped to 10 minutes! I wanted to meet her so badly! I forget what the wait time was earlier in the day, maybe closer to 30-45? (Longer than I'd ever wait, but heck yeah I'd wait 10 minutes!)

I decided to do Frozen quickly before heading to the meet and greet. Seriously, the unlimited pass was so great. I'll have to tally up how many rides I did at the end!

At about 4:00 the Frozen standby had jumped up to 45 minutes.

I kept seeing more Imagineers or important Disney people in suits around FS, observing the guests and how the day was going!

While in line I noticed a lot of boats were being sent empty. In the priority line it's actually easy to miss the standby line as they go through a separate area and come through a doorway to the merge point, so I have no idea how many people were in it.

I got a notification that I used 80% of my T-mobile international plan data (15GB), I think the TDR app was a major data eater! But hey, it worked great in the parks, so I can't complain!

Loved the floral moss smell at the beginning of the ride. The Elsa vocalist is so amazing! You don't miss the English at all!

IMG_7210.jpeg

Cannot get over the animatronics on this ride. As I say about the US parks, if they wanted to, they could!!! And yes, riding the US Frozen ride this past Thanksgiving was hilarious and the faces on the animatronics look horrible to me now :rotfl2:

IMG_7218.jpeg

IMG_7229.jpeg

After the ride, I saw another American vlogger, I have actually been in one of his vlogs before in WDW  He wasn't filming or I would have tried to walk by and find myself in the video later :hyper:

I loved the Bambi sculpture. I doubt I even saw them all, there were so many.

IMG_7240.jpeg

Thumper and Flower were soooo cute! Does Bambi get any recognition in the US? I was happy to see it in Japan!

IMG_7241.jpeg

It was finally starting to cool off at this point, luckily it was never horribly hot while I was at Disney, definitely a risk in early June!

While leaving FS, there were long lines at the stands for the mango tapioca and alien mochi, so I skipped those for now.

At 4:22PM, Duffy was listed at 20 minutes!! I decided to go for it, I had never met Duffy before so I was very excited!

IMG_7244.jpeg

This meet and greet was not hidden but not out in the open like most are in the US parks. Sort of like meeting Pooh in Epcot, if you know where it is, it's easy to find! But you won't just stumble across it walking by unless you're paying attention.

It didn't seem like many people were there, so I didn't think it'd be even 20 minutes. My lucky day! The lines in general were short at DisneySea, everyone was chilling outside FS trying to get in. Toy Story and Journey were 40-45 minutes, Soarin was 65 minutes. Not bad at all.

I didn't even wait 10 minutes to meet Duffy!

IMG_7252.jpeg

They make a big deal about only taking "one" photo (but they take more than one on your phone  ) and before I left the room they made me check my photos to make sure they turned out, which was nice.

IMG_7254.jpeg

Dufy was sooo cute. I feel like the Tokyo Duffy is cuter and fluffier than the Duffy that occasionally meets at runDisney races in the US? I've never been lucky enough to run a race where he's out (usually Wine & Dine).

I didn't do the Nemo ride on this day, but the building looked really cool!

IMG_7266.jpeg

It was very quiet on this side of the park, probably quiet everywhere except outside the entrance FS

IMG_7268.jpeg

They really went for the weathered look!

IMG_7270.jpeg

The meet and greet for ShellieMay is in a different location than Duffy. At 4:43PM it was now listed at 5 minutes! I could tell everyone in line was Chinese, which makes sense as I believe ShellieMay is even bigger at Shanghai Disneyland compared to Tokyo Disneyland.

IMG_7271.jpeg

The theming inside was so cute, I loved all of the history.

IMG_7273.jpeg

The line didn't move for a bit so I think ShellieMay was on break, but finally she came back and I zipped through the line. Overall waited about 10 minutes, seriously amazing! She was simply adorable!

IMG_7276.jpeg

All of the character attendants I interacted with spoke very good English, I suppose they have to as they have to be able to communicate with so many different people for the safety of the characters!

IMG_7278.jpeg

According to my notes, all DisneySea DPA were still available outside FS. It was at this point I really suspected that the opening of FS completely scared everyone away from the parks in general. It would have been a fantastic time to go to DS and skip FS entirely.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 16)

It was perfect timing for my Tower of Terror pass. I think this was one of my rides I selected from my VP?

IMG_7283.jpeg

Next time I have to check out the SS Columbia!

IMG_7284.jpeg

Wow, the Tower is just so beautiful! Such different vibes compared to the WDW version.

IMG_7288.jpeg

I scanned in at 5:03 and standby was a mere 30 minutes. The vibes were much less spooky, not very many cobwebs!

IMG_7289.jpeg

Everything was so opulent! Loved the stained glass!

IMG_7290.jpeg

Even though I did not understand what they were saying, the CMs for this ride were so lively and in character, I loved it!

IMG_7291.jpeg

The preshow is easy enough to understand based on the visuals, that creepy talisman...ahhh!

IMG_7296.jpeg

The queue after the preshow very much reminded me of Indiana Jones!

IMG_7299.jpeg

IMG_7300.jpeg

I ended up getting pulled up as a single rider, some things never change (this often happens to me in the US too) :thumbsup2

Overall I waited a bit less than 15 minutes.

IMG_7304.jpeg

I loved it, but wish the seatbelt was just across the lap instead of the body! I didn't think it was much less intense than the US versions, though apparently it is. I think there were only two drops, but they felt big! People screamed soooo much though, which was funny! I noticed they had some FS merch in the ride shop, so you didn't necessarily need a standby pass to find FS merch.

When we went to Big Band Beat in November, every seat was full.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 17)

I didn't have a pass for Toy Story that day but I had to stop and see the giant Woody

IMG_7307.jpeg

I didn't even notice the green army man til I saw this photo!

IMG_7308.jpeg

It was time for my Emporio standby pass at the front of the park, I got in line at 5:34 and it was so long! I wanted to get my shopping done this day so I didn't have to carry much around the next day when I wasn't staying at the MiraCosta anymore.

IMG_7311.jpeg

Thankfully the line moved quickly and I was in within 10 minutes. It was a big store so they fit a lot of people inside. Sadly I didn't see anything new compared to the FSH shop, so I left without buying anything.

I checked a few other shops at the front of the park looking for a Duffy keychain, but didn't find one I liked.

I stopped at my room for a bit to put on pants for the evening, it was so nice having that entrance though since the park is so huge, it's not convenient to FS at all. It was so quiet at the MiraCosta!

The window in the room has dots, I suppose so you don't run into it. You can see people sitting down to save their spots for Believe in a few hours!

IMG_7315.jpeg

I felt like a new person in my pants for the evening, the temp changes fast when the sun goes down!

IMG_7317.jpeg

I stopped at Mamma Biscotti's Bakery to look for the Mike melon bread but it was already sold out!

Time to scan into Soarin' which again I think was one of my VP rides? I was on the fence about this one as it's the same ride, but decided to give it a try as everyone talks about the queue.

IMG_7318.jpeg

I scanned in at 6:30 and standby was a mere 40 minutes. I don't even want to know what the lines look like this time of year, this was probably as low as it can possibly get

IMG_7320.jpeg

I didn't find the queue that interesting, though perhaps I missed some parts of it. Not interesting enough that I'd wait for anything but rope drop, at least!

IMG_7322.jpeg

I ended up in B3 and it was about 20 minutes overall until the ride started. I always find Soarin' so slow to load!

IMG_7323.jpeg

I did love this portrait and the special effects in the preshow, it looked like magic!

IMG_7326.jpeg

In the end I was so glad I did this ride. The ending before you fly over TDR, you fly over Tokyo for a bit including Tokyo Tower at night. If you've been reading my full TR you know how special Tokyo Tower is to me, and I got a bit emotional at that part. Those few seconds flying over Tokyo were worth it to me and I started getting a bit sad about the trip coming to an end soon.

Overall I'm so glad I ended my trip at TDR just with the logistics and all, but part of me missed the hustle and bustle of the city, which is very different than TDR which feels more like being home than in Japan.

When we went to Big Band Beat in November, every seat was full.
It was really surprisng to me how many empty seats there were! I was surprised to win the lottery at all, but I wonder if it's a tiny bit easier as one person? Hard to say since I lost a lottery the previous day I guess.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 18)

I have enough pictures to finish this one day in 20 posts, I think :rotfl2: The 10 photo limit is a struggle, thanks all for hanging in there with me lol! I didn't take as many photos for my second day at DisneySea. It's taken me months to just write about this single day, phew!

As I walked through the Mediterranean Harbour, I think they were playing the same music that they play at Topolino's Terrace in WDW. I guess that would make sense!

IMG_7328.jpeg

Time for dinner, I decided to check out Casbah Food Court, since I hadn't really been in that area of the park.

IMG_7329.jpeg

There was no line to order, I got the curry sampler for 1300¥ and used my beverage ticket for the mango & raspberry lassi (normally 600¥).

The lassi was good, like a creamy yogurt smoothie with fruit chunks. Another big drink size.

IMG_7332.jpeg

The curry was solid, I'm no expert in curry but I liked it. It had shrimp, chicken, and beef. The chicken was a bit sweet and not my favorite. The beef was very tender and quite fatty, the shrimp were a bit sweet. The naan was my favorite part, so fluffy and soft. It wasn't busy so I would have expected it to be dried out from sitting around, but it wasn't.

IMG_7333.jpeg

I think the shrimp had a mild sauce and the beef had a medium sauce, the mild was my favorite and the medium had more of a smoky flavor. I usually prefer spicy things and I forgot to buy the harissa sauce packet.

I left at 7:25 to head back to FS for a little while, and it was just a five minute walk from there. Loved seeing the rocks lit up at night!

IMG_7335.jpeg

All of the lanterns in the Rapunzel queue were so beautiful at night. I scanned in at 7:32 and was on in less than 10 minutes. The standby was listed at 35 minutes but it looked way longer. I imagine everyone wants to ride it at night if they can!

IMG_7341.jpeg

Some of the stuff in the queue was really funny for this ride!

IMG_7342.jpeg

Seeing Rapunzel in her tower at night was very special! Never gets old!

IMG_7351.jpeg

I really need to go and delete some of photos from this day though, I probably have 5 photos of the same thing :rotfl2:

IMG_7352.jpeg

Overall a great ride, a bit short and yeah it doesn't have much of a plot, but it's pretty to look at and accessible for everyone. Love that Tokyo does more rides that are for people who can't do thrill/motion rides.

IMG_7369.jpeg

My final opinion is that the left side on this ride is best, and being in the front row isn't quite as important given how slowly it moves and it's pretty immersive from all sides.

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 19)

It was very different seeing FS at night! So gorgeous! They use so much color in the lighting.

IMG_7370.jpeg

Skull Rock looks especially menacing at night!

IMG_7371.jpeg

The Peter Pan mountains looked amazing at night as well.

IMG_7373.jpeg

Arendelle was gorgeous, who am I kidding, I loved everything!

IMG_7377.jpeg

It was very popular to take photos on the bridge entrance to Arendelle.

IMG_7380.jpeg

Some nice girls took my photo, everyone was so happy to take photos and multiple angles without me asking

IMG_7386.jpeg

I scanned in for frozen at 7:57, standby dropped to only 10. Everyone was at Rapunzel! It was a total walk on this time, I never waited more than a couple minutes at most. I think the left side was my favorite on this one but really every spot is good.

The forced perspective is so great!

IMG_7383.jpeg

The roast beef popcorn cart intrigued me, it had a steady line most of the day. I decided it was time, I needed that Peter Pan bucket!

IMG_7387.jpeg

I hopped into line at 8:10, the line wasn't quite as long as earlier in the day. I only waited a couple minutes behind maybe a dozen people.

They scanned my ticket for the purchase limit. They are so good about that!

IMG_7389.jpeg

The popcorn smelled so weird, kind of bready and malty. I totally hated it, like worst popcorn I've ever had :rotfl2:

It tasted like pastrami and liquid smoke, really not for me. But given how cheap it is I encourage everyone to give it a try for the fun of it!

6/6: Tokyo Disney (DisneySea Fantasy Springs Opening Day Pt 20)

Finally wrapping up this long long day! I'll have to go back through my posts and recap how many rides I did this day.

They announced the fireworks were cancelled, I think it was a bit windy. Time for another ride on Peter Pan! I scanned in at 8:21, it was a total walk on besides the show. Back row again!

IMG_7403.jpeg

Love the transition on this ride, so seamless. I did not have any motion sickness issues thankfully.

I turned on the popcorn bucket light and wow, it was soooo beautiful!

IMG_7405.jpeg

Seriously an amazing popcorn bucket, easily my favorite.

IMG_7410.jpeg

They announced FS was closing at 9 but then at 8:45 they announced it would be closing in 30 minutes, so I'm not really sure. Either way I decided to head out of FS and start making my way back to the MiraCosta.

I stoped at Indy on the way and decided to give it a ride! The queue was awesome, so creepy at night!

IMG_7415.jpeg

There was no line at all, since the park was closing soon. I ended up in front row, my favorite!

IMG_7417.jpeg

I love this ride in Disneyland in CA, and it was very similar in DisneySea. Just a few small differences that I think made it scarier. Less jerky and the boulder works, so cool to see that in action!

IMG_7420.jpeg

The CMs were basically ushering us out towards the entrance at 8:55, gotta close on time at 9! Mermaid Lagoon looked beautiful at night as I passed it.

IMG_7423.jpeg

I made it back to the MC within 10 minutes. I got to see all the people doing the flashlight waving from the Porto Paradiso side rooms!

Another MiraCosta elevator selfie, with my bucket! Tons of people were buying this bucket and wearing it.

IMG_7427.jpeg

Of course once back to my room, I had to join in on the flashlight waving. It was really fun to watch people in the parks turn on their phone flashlights in response! I did that for about 15 minutes, it was definitely a core memory!

IMG_7428.jpeg

I tried to buy my DisneySea ticket for the next day in the app, but my purchase kept failing. I had no trouble buying my evening ticket at home on my computer, so not sure if it was an app issue or a random issue. I ended up going to the front desk (different line than check in) before it closed at 10 and it was easy to purchase for 9400¥.

I noticed on my credit card there were a bunch of charges and refunds, so it was probably just a credit card issue.

At 9:50 I noticed security CMs going through with flashlights, probably looking for stragglers!

IMG_7430.jpeg

The wifi in my room at MiraCosta was so bad, I'm sure it depends on the room, but the wifi in my Disneyland Hotel room was great in comparison.

I finally went to bed at midnight, it's a good thing I wasn't going to Kyoto after the TDR portion of my trip as those early wake ups would have been impossible

Overall, I had just under 26k steps for the day. Pretty much open to close!

And that's a wrap on Fantasy Springs opening day! Overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was so worth the money to have a worry free experience.

Alright, here's a summary of my DisneySea day 1 (approx times):

  • 7:00 in line for Happy Entry
  • 8:03 into DisneySea
  • 8:22 Frozen #1
  • 8:37 Rapunzel #1
  • 8:50 Peter Pan #1
  • 9:13 Tink's Busy Buggies (standby)
  • 10:05 Frozen #2
  • 10:33 FSH Gift Shop (standby)
  • 12:55 Big Band Beat Show (entry request)
  • 1:36 20,000 Leagues (Priority Pass)
  • 1:50 Journey (DPA or VP)
  • 2:52 Peter Pan #2
  • 3:12 Rapunzel #2
  • 3:57 Frozen #3
  • 4:22 Duffy (standby)
  • 4:43 ShellieMay (standby)
  • 5:03 Tower of Terror (DPA or VP)
  • 5:34 Emporio Shop (standby)
  • 6:30 Soarin' (DPA or VP)
  • 7:32 Rapunzel #3
  • 7:57 Frozen #4
  • 8:21 Peter Pan #3
  • 8:48 Indiana Jones
So I rode Peter Pan and Rapunzel x3, and Frozen x4. I could have ridden them as many times as I wanted to of course, with hardly any wait. I think 16 rides total, a show, and two meet & greets. Hardly waited for anything. Had 3 meals (Lookout Cookout, Miguel's, Casbah Food Court) and used my beverage ticket at least 5 times. Just one popcorn this day, I think? I do better about popcorn on DS day 2, lol!

Hindsight is 20/20 but this would have been a fabulous day to do DisneySea without doing FS. Low crowds, low wait times, DPA outside of FS not selling out...I think I could have gotten any priority pass I wanted to but crossing the park so many times gets tiresome. Definitely bummed that Sinbad was closed on this trip.
