My First Dining Report!! BOG dinner

Thanks to the boards here, I was able to get a FP+ for lunch at BOG. We had eaten dinner here on our last trip so we wanted to try the lunch menu. We chose the Rose Gallery - the room with the music box. The tapestries on the wall were lovely.

DH had the pork dish, which was unbelievable as a CS option:

He really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was very tender and had great flavor, and the portion was very large.

I has the Croque Monsieur. I really wanted to like it, and it looked so delicious on the plate. Sadly it fell a little flat. It seemed like it might have been sitting under a warming lamp.

One DD got pasta with butter:

And my other DD had the pasta with the sauce:

The girls thought this was just ok.

For dessert we had the Master's cupcake, lemon cupcake, and chocolate cupcake:

I'm glad be tried it. The atmosphere is incredible, but I don't think we will do it again. it was just ok for us.

We can't be at WDW and not have a Mickey pretzel! We got the at the Lunching Pad, and also at the snack cart in Frontierland. I have only had the plain version but one of these times I have to try the sweet cream cheese or jalapeno cheese variey.

The pretzels are pretty good. Although there are much better soft pretzel places here in Philly, there is just something about the Mickey pretzel that we have to have!

A little late to the party, but I'm all caught up and joining in! Love your reviews so far! The BOG lunch (pork) looks so yummy!!

Enjoying your report! Great photos, and I like that you are concise and to the point! :)

Subbing to your dining report...:cool1:

I tried Via Napoli for the first time this past Christmas. It's now on my list of must dos. I completely agree the Carciofi (white pizza, artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil) is little bit of heaven. The cheese, the crispy pizza, I was in heaven with this pizza. :worship:

Unfortunately they didn't offer zepoles during Christmas week I was disapointed and heart broken not to be able to try these delicious treats. :sad2:

Yum, Thanks for your report and all the pictures.

We are headed to the world soon and I am living off your photos at the moment. We skipped BOG our last trip and we have a lunch planned and 2 dinner reservations to make up for it.

I am looking forward to your dinner review.

Love the reviews and pics. My husband and I going the end of this month. We are going to a couple of the places you went to - Ohana's and BOG for lunch.

Yes, the pork dish was good, and a great entree for a CS restaurant.

VN is definitely a favorite. Too bad about the zeppole, but there's a reason to go back!

Thanks. We weren't blown away by the food, but the atmosphere is worth it!

To finish out the day of all things BOG, we had dinner there. This was a MVMCP night, and we had attended earlier in the week. Since this was our last full day, I wanted to make the most of it and was able to get a 6:45 ADR. I knew we would be escorted out after we ate, but that was fine.

The bread was (I think) sourdough rolls which were good, standard Disney rolls.

I opted for 2 appetizers instead of an entree. First was salad:

The dressing was very vinegar-y, if that is even a word ;)

Served with everyone else's entrees, I got the potato leek soup:

This was very good and hit the spot. it had a nice flavor and was creamy without being terribly thick.

For an app, DH got the mussels (Mussels Provençal
with White Wine, Tomato, Garlic, Onion, Basil, and Butter):

And he got the salmon as his entree (Pan-seared Salmon on Leek Fondue
served with Creamy Saffron-crushed Potatoes):

My older DD had the grilled chicken:

Younger DD had the pasta again, so there is a picture of that in the BOG lunch post. The kids could live on pasta/mac and cheese!

We also got a chocolate cream puff that was split among the table since no one really wanted dessert:

This was the third time we have done BOG (2 dinner, 1 lunch) and I find myself not really loving the food, so I think this is one we can skip for a while. It is beautiful, though, and the details and little touches are amazing!

For our last day at the Beach Club, I have some pictures of the decorations and one picture of a random snack:

The Beach Club was amazing and being able to walk to Epcot was so convenient. It would be fantastic to stay here during F&W! With the decorations in the lobby, it smelled fantastic all the time. I don't know if it usually does, or if it was just because of all the gingerbread, but it smelled divine!

I got a little to go box of veggies and hummus. It was nice to have something (semi) healthy to choose from.

And in some more randomness, here is the chip that is on the bottom of the disposable drink cups at the food court:

The decor in the lobby for Christmas is so lovely. I can only imagine how wonderful it must smell :)

Interesting to hear your views on BoG
We tried dinner in December and the food was not great in fact it was below par
Going to try lunch next times as it's such a cool place to eat it would be a shame to miss it :)
